"Keep breathing," Anna reminds, helping Gio into the tub. She holds his hand, and wipes the sweat from his brow.

Gio does as ordered, and upon entering the tub, breathes a sigh of relief.

"There you go," Anna encourages, seeing him relax. She scooted over so Dr. Takeda could join her beside the tub.

Dr Takeda kneels down in front of Gio.

(is the tub big enough for 2? Cause Dr Takeda plans on getting in when Gio is closer to giving birth).

"How that's feel? Pain easier to manage?" She asks, brushing the sweaty hair from his forehead.

"Doctor? What were the last fetal heart tones?" Anna asks between Gio's contractions.

GIO wants to know.

"They were average." Dr Takeda replies. "Why don't you check him over? I have to go and recite a Japanese prayer."

"Sure," she responds to Dr. Takeda. Anna grabs the doppler off the counter, and listens to each baby's heartbeat. She notes that they are a little low, and to check them again shortly. "Just lean back and relax for me, and we'll see," she smiles warmly at Gio, slipping on a pair of gloves.

"Just a little pressure baby, try and relax for me," she says, gently slipping two fingers in to examine him.

"8 and a half," she says, withdrawing and throwing her glove away. "Is there anything specific that sounds good? A back rub or anything?"

Gio does not want to say the words that are in his head but it's obvious that he needs a back rub.

Dr Takeda returns.

"How far along is he?" Dr Takeda looks at Anna.

"8 and a half," she sighs. "We're having some fetal heart decels during the contractions, only 5 points or so, but still," she explains quietly.

"Are you sure he's 8 and a half?" Dr Takeda looks at Gio. "Cause I think, judging by his face, that he might have gone to 10."

"He just was," she looks at the clock. "15 minutes ago. Hand me the doppler, please?"

(Gio has been through this once before with the babies that he lost and no 2 labors are the same).
