A comprehensive, alphabetical list of terms you may find among your fellow role players. We all have various and wide range interests. For full disclosure, refer to this list.

Aggressive Dominants: an excessively forceful, violent, or controlling sexual partner in the dominant role

Alcohol: the intoxicating substance found in beer and liquor; known to cause rambling, dizziness, delirium, euphoria, vomiting, unconsciousness, and death; often used in seduction; functions as a depressant to the central nervous system and slows down body functions; aside from significant negative physical consequences, chronic use of alcohol can lead to physical and psychological addiction

Alien: extraterrestrial life, life that does not originate from Earth (also see: angel, demon, dragon, fairy, vampire, werewolf, zombie); [law] a person in a country who is not a citizen of that country

Androgyny: the combination of masculine and feminine characteristics; as in fashion, sexual identity, or sexual lifestyle

Angel: a supernatural being often depicted as a messenger of God in the Hebrew and Christian Bibles and the Quran; a creature that is most often human in appearance with large bird-like wings growing from the back Angel (antonym: demon; also see: alien, demon, dragon, fairy, vampire, werewolf, zombie)

Anthro: a slang term for anthropomorphism or anthropomorphic characters; Looney Tunes and Sonic the Hedgehog are prime examples; not to be confused with kemonomimis

Asexuality: the lack of sexual attraction to others or the lack of interest in sexual intercourse (also see: bestiality, bi-curiousity, bisexuality, object sexuality, pansexuality, polysexuality, transsexuality)

Ball play: sexual play defined by one (or more) partner licking, sucking, groping, or any other sexual activity with the opposite partner’s testicles (also see: blood play, child play, cum play, fear play, food play, ice play, knife play, temperature play, urination play, wax play)

Banjee: a term from the 1980s or earlier that describes a certain type of young Latino, Black, or multiracial man who has sexual intercourse with men and who dresses in stereotypical masculine urban fashion for reasons which may include expressing masculinity, hiding his sexual orientation and attracting male partners

Bestiality: the practice of sexual activity between humans and non-human animals (also see: asexuality, bi-curiousity, bisexuality, object sexuality, pansexuality, polysexuality, transsexuality) (PROHIBITED ON THIS FORUM)

Bears: heavy-set men and are often characterized as having hairy bodies and facial hair; some are also muscular; some attempt to project an image of rugged masculinity in their grooming and appearance; some bears place importance on presenting a hyper-masculine image and may shun interaction with, and even disdain, men who exhibit effeminacy (antonym: twink)

BDSM: an erotic preference and a form of sexual expression involving the consensual use of restraint, intense sensory stimulation, and fantasy power role play; compound initialism is derived from the terms bondage and discipline (B&D or B/D), dominance and submission (D&S or D/s), and sadism and masochism (S&M or S/M); includes a wide spectrum of activities, forms of interpersonal relationships, and distinct subcultures; activities and relationships are characterized by the participants usually taking on complementary, but unequal roles, thus the idea of consent of both the partners becomes essential (also see: bondage, discipline, dominant, masochism, sadism, sadomasochism, submissive)

Bi-curiousity: a term used to refer to people of a heterosexual or homosexual identity who, while showing some curiosity for a relationship or sexual activity with a person of the sex they do not favor, distinguish themselves from the bisexual label (also see: asexuality, bestiality, bisexuality, object sexuality, pansexuality, polysexuality, transsexuality)

Bigender: a tendency to move between feminine and masculine gender-typed behavior depending on context

Bisexuality: sexual behavior or an orientation involving physical or romantic attraction to both males and females (also see: asexuality, bestiality, bi-curiousity, object sexuality, pansexuality, polysexuality, transsexuality)

Blood Play: sexual play defined by hematolagnia which is the physical attraction to blood this may be the smell, sight or texture of the blood; usually this involves cutting your sexual partner or having them cut you and (not always) smearing the blood on your body and sometimes drinking the blood of your partner and vice versa (also see: ball play, child play, cum play, fear play, food play, ice play, knife play, temperature play, urination play, wax play)

Blow-job: also known as fellatio, BJ, giving head or sucking off; an act of oral stimulation of a male's penis by a sexual partner; involves the stimulation of the penis by the use of the mouth, tongue, or throat (also see: foot-job, hand-job, rim-job)

Bodily waste: an umbrella term for urination play, and cum play

Bondage: use of restraints for the sexual pleasure of the parties involved (also see: BDSM, discipline, dominant, masochism, sadism, sadomasochism, submissive)

Bottom: [sex] someone who receives penetration during intercourse, usually through the anus during anal sexual intercourse; describes a wider social context of submission within a romantic and sexual relationship, although this element does not apply to all people who prefer to bottom (also see: oral bottom, power bottom, total bottom; antonym: top); [BDSM] the partner in a relationship or a scene who takes the passive, receiving, or obedient role, to that of the top or dominant; subject to acts such as flogging, servitude or humiliation and can be physically restrained by bondage, which can itself be painful (antonyms: top, dominant; synonym: submissive)

Bukkake: a group sex act in which several men take turns ejaculating on a man or woman

Child Play: sexual play defined by one partner behaving in childish, toddler, or even baby-like behavior; usually involves the submissive acting like a child towards the dominant, but sometimes a dominant can only become aroused if coddled by the submissive (also see: ball play, blood play, cum play, fear play, food play, ice play, knife play, temperature play, urination play, wax play)

Circle Jerk: group masturbation among men, usually sitting or standing in somewhat of a circle formation (also see: gang bang, group sex, threesome, foursome, orgy, double penetration, triple penetration)

Creampie: when a male ejaculates inside his partner's anus followed by visible seepage and/or dripping

Cross-dressing: the act of wearing clothing and other accoutrement commonly associated with a gender within a particular society that is seen as different than the one usually presented by the dresser

Crossover: the placement of two or more otherwise discrete fictional characters, settings, or universes into the context of a single story

Cum Play: sexual play defined by the use of semen; usually involves drinking, lube substitution, rubbing into the partner’s skin, licking, spitting, etc. (also see: ball play, blood play, child play, fear play, food play, ice play, knife play, temperature play, urination play, wax play)

Cum Shot: a slang term used to describe a person ejaculating, usually onto a person or objects; also referred to as a money shot

Cybersex: a virtual sex encounter in which two or more persons connected remotely via computer network send each other sexually explicit messages describing a sexual experience; form of sexual role play in which the participants pretend they are having actual sexual intercourse (also see: phone sex, virtual sex)

Death: the killing off your or your writing partner’s character without a means to an end

Demon: a supernatural being from various religions, occultisms, literatures, and folklores that is described as something that is not human and, in ordinary (almost universal) usage, malevolent (antonym: angel; also see: alien, angel, dragon, fairy, vampire, werewolf, zombie)

Discipline: [BDSM] pain caused physically (such as caning), humiliation caused psychologically (such as a public flagellation) or loss of freedom caused physically (such as chaining the controlee to the foot of a bed, for some misbehavior) (also see: BDSM, bondage, dominant, masochism, sadism, sadomasochism, submissive)

Dirty Talk: the practice of using graphic word imagery to heighten sexual pleasure before and during sexual intercourse; commonly a part of foreplay; can include vivid erotic descriptions, sexual humor, sexual commands and rude words; may be whispered into a lover's ear, spoken over a telephone, or texted; more sexual in nature than pillow talk and tends to precede rather than follow love making

Docking: mutual masturbation by inserting the glans penis into the foreskin of another penis (also see: frotting, mutual masturbation)

Dominant: [BDSM] the partner in a relationship or in a scene who takes the active or controlling role over that of the bottom or submissive partner (antonyms: bottom, submissive; synonym: dominant; also see: BDSM, bondage, discipline, masochism, sadism, sadomasochism)

Double Penetration: simultaneous penetration of the anus by two penises or other objects; also called double stuffing (also see: circle jerk, gang bang, group sex, threesome, foursome, orgy, triple penetration)

Dragon: a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, that features in the myths of many cultures. There are two distinct cultural traditions of dragons: the European dragon, derived from European folk traditions and ultimately related to Greek and Middle Eastern mythologies, and the Chinese dragon, with counterparts in Japan, Korea and other East Asian countries (also see: alien, angel, demon, fairy, vampire, werewolf, zombie)

Drag Queen: a man who dresses, and usually acts, like a caricature woman often for the purpose of entertaining

Effeminacy: describes traits in a human male, that are more often associated with traditional feminine nature, behavior, mannerisms, style or gender roles rather than masculine nature, behavior, mannerisms, style or roles

Enema: the procedure of introducing liquids into the rectum and colon via the anus; causes rapid expansion of the lower intestinal tract, often resulting in very uncomfortable bloating, cramping, powerful peristalsis, a feeling of extreme urgency and complete evacuation of the lower intestinal tract; fluids include water, semen, lubricants, turpentine, etc.

Erotic Asphyxiation: the intentional restriction of oxygen to the brain for sexual arousal

Exhibitionism: a desire or compulsion to expose parts of one's body – specifically the genitals or buttocks – or to have sexual intercourse in a public or semi-public circumstance, in crowds or groups of friends or acquaintances, or to strangers (also see: voyeurism)

Facials: term for the sexual activity in which a man ejaculates semen onto the face of one or more sexual partners

Fairy: a type of mythical being or legendary creature, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical, supernatural or preternatural; describes a specific type of more ethereal creature; resembles a human that is tiny in size and features wings (also see: alien, angel, demon, dragon, vampire, werewolf, zombie)

Fan Characters: characters created by writers and/or artists that are made to fit into a fandom, i.e. creating a Soul Reaper for “Bleach” or a Na’vi for “Avatar;” not to be confused with original characters (antonym: original characters)

Fear Play: any sexual activity involving the use of fear to create sexual arousal. Unlike masochistic tendencies, fear play does not offer the subject pleasure or arousal through a rush of endorphins, but rather a terrified mental state which triggers a release of adrenaline (also see: ball play, blood play, child play, cum play, food play, ice play, knife play, temperature play, urination play, wax play)

Fingering: the manual manipulation of the anus for the purpose of sexual arousal and stimulation; may constitute the entire sexual encounter or it may be part of mutual masturbation, foreplay or other sexual activities

Fisting: a sexual activity that involves inserting a hand into the rectum; once insertion is complete, the fingers either naturally clench into a fist or remain straight; in more vigorous forms of fisting, such as "punching", a fully clenched fist may be inserted and withdrawn slowly

Fluff: “warm and fuzzy feelings;” a literary device often used in fan fiction, but had spread into original fiction, that involves excessive friendship or romance between character; often includes plots that are strictly feel-good love stories without drama, action, or angst; also known as waff

Food Play: a form of sexual fetishism in which participants are aroused by erotic situations involving food; such as bananas, cucumbers, hot dogs, custard, or pudding. (also see: ball play, blood play, child play, cum play, fear play, ice play, knife play, temperature play, urination play, wax play)

Foot-job: sexual practice with the feet in which the partner of the male receiving a footjob places their feet on his penis and strokes it until the man orgasms (also see: blow-job, hand-job, rim-job)

Foreplay: a set of intimate psychological and physically intimate acts between two or more people meant to create desire for sexual activity and sexual arousal; either or any of the sexual partners may initiate the foreplay, and they may not be the active partner during the sexual activity; lowers inhibitions and increases the emotional comfort of the partners, and implies a certain level of confidence and trust between the partners

Forbidden Love: type of love considered taboo, usually to the extent of punishable by law or familial and/or societal disgrace; includes love between same-sex partners, interracial, age, class separation, culture, nationality, religion, etc.

Foreign Object Insertion: a sexual activity that involves inserting non-traditional objects into the anus; includes spoons, baseballs, tennis balls, rolling pins, staplers, remotes, hairbrushes, etc.

Foursome: sexual intercourse between four people which can be performed in a variety of ways (also see: circle jerk, gang bang, group sex, threesome, orgy, double penetration, triple penetration)

Frotting: two males mutually rubbing penises together (also see: docking, mutual masturbation)

Futanari: the Japanese word for androgyny or hermaphroditism; known as "futa" for short

Gag: [BDSM] a device sometimes worn during some bondage and BDSM role plays; some people derive erotic pleasure from a gag, for other people gags have connotations of punishment and control, and thus can be used as a form of humiliation; gags may be classified as over-the-mouth type, mouth stuffing type or mouth opening type

Gangbang: one person performing sex acts with a number of people, either in turn or at the same time (also see: circle jerk, group sex, threesome, foursome, orgy, double penetration, triple penetration)

Gaping: the act of spreading the asshole with something other than your penis, primarily four fingers (two on each hand)

Gender-bending: informal term used to refer to a person who actively transgresses, or "bends," expected gender roles; sometimes a form of social activism undertaken in response to assumptions or over-generalisations about genders; In fiction, the term may refer not only to characters modeled after real-life gender benders, but also to characters who undergo changes in their physical sex – magically or otherwise – throughout the story

God-modding: giving your character every advantage in a story; a total lack of flaws or weaknesses, physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise; seriously frowned upon by players

Golden Shower: sexual excitement is associated with the sight or thought of urine or urination (also see: urination play, watersports)

Gore: graphic violence, especially the realistic depiction of serious physical injuries involving blood, flesh, bone and brain matter

Group Sex: sexual behavior involving more than two participants; can occur amongst people of all sexual orientations and genders; may take place in public, at outdoor events, nightclubs; at massage parlors, brothels, sex parties, sex clubs, homes, hotel rooms, etc. (also see: circle jerk, gang bang, group sex, threesome, foursome, orgy, double penetration, triple penetration)

Hand-job: the act of manual stimulation of a male's penis by a sexual partner, usually to the point of orgasm and ejaculation (also see: blow-job, foot-job, rim-job)

Hermaphrodites: an individual that has reproductive organs normally associated with both male and female sexes

Humiliation: [BDSM] the consensual use of psychological humiliation in a sexual context, whereby one person gains arousal or erotic excitement from the powerful emotions of being humiliated and demeaned, or of humiliating another; often (but not always) in conjunction with sexual stimulation of one or both partners in the activity; humiliation need not be sexual in itself; as with many other sexual activities it is the feelings derived from it which are sought, regardless of the nature of the actual activity; can be verbal or physical, and can be relatively private or public

Ill Characters: terminally ill characters, usually from cancer, defects, or “from birth” diseases

Incest: sexual intercourse between blood relatives that is usually illegal in the jurisdiction where it takes place and/or is conventionally considered a taboo (PROHIBITED ON THIS FORUM)

Inflation: filling an individual with air via the mouth or rectum for the sake of sexual arousal; result is an enlarged stomach; sometimes branches out into water or semen

Intense language: usually explicit or violent in nature; foul language; curse words; cussing

Intercrucial Sex: type of non-penetrative sex, in which a male places his penis between his partner's thighs (often with lubrication), and thrusts to create friction

Kidnapping: the taking away or transportation of a person against that person's will, usually to hold the person in false imprisonment, a confinement without legal authority

Mafia: a criminal syndicate that emerged in the mid-nineteenth century in Sicily, Italy; a loose association of criminal groups that share a common organizational structure and code of conduct, and whose common enterprise is protection racketeering; groups, known as a "family", "clan", or "cosca", claim sovereignty over a territory in which it operates its rackets – usually a town or village or a neighborhood of a larger city; members call themselves "men of honor", although the public often refers to them as "mafiosi" (also see: yakuza)

Maiming: an act of physical injury that degrades the appearance or function of any living body, usually without causing death

Masochism: receiving sexual pleasure from suffering pain and humiliation upon the self (also see: sadism, sadomasochism; also see: BDSM, bondage, discipline, dominant, sadism, sadomasochism, submissive)

Master: the dominant person in a BDSM relationship; will often use pain as a method of control, torture and/or pleasure depending on his slave which can be physical, mental or emotional and can be so intense it takes his slave to subspace. A master knows everything about his slave and is capable of controlling their thoughts, actions and feelings; holds both positions of God and Devil simultaneously to his slave; capable of filling his slave with so much happiness and so much pain at the same time it cannot be explained. There can only be one master in a slave’s life, however a master can have more than one slave in his life. A master makes the rules and he will punish and reward his slave accordingly if the slave breaks them (antonym: slave)

May-December Romance: refers to sexual relations between people with a significant difference in age

Monogamy: a form of marriage in which an individual has only one spouse at any one time; refers to having one sexual partner irrespective of marriage or reproduction (antonym: polygamy)

Mpreg: Male pregnancy; sexual intercourse with a pregnant male

Mutual Masturbation: a sexual act where two or more people stimulate themselves or one another sexually, usually with the hands (also see: docking, frotting)

Object sexuality: a pronounced emotional and often romantic desire towards developing significant relationships with particular inanimate objects. Those individuals with this expressed preference may feel strong feelings of attraction, love, and commitment to certain items or structures of their fixation. For some, sexual or even close emotional relationships with humans are incomprehensible. Object-sexual individuals also often believe in animism, and sense reciprocation based on the belief that objects have souls, intelligence, feelings, and are able to communicate (also see: asexuality, bestiality, bi-curiousity, bisexuality, pansexuality, polysexuality, transsexuality)

Old Character: culturally speaking, a character in the age 50 or older (antonym: young character)

Oral Bottom: the exclusively receptive partner in oral sexual intercourse, providing the penetrative partner, or oral top, with unreciprocated fellatio and irrumatio (also see: bottom, power bottom, total bottom; antonym: oral top)

Oral Top: does not engage in anal sexual intercourse and is the exclusively penetrative partner during oral sexual intercourse (also see: top, power top, service top, total top; antonym: oral bottom)

Orgy: group sex or a sex party (also see: circle jerk, gang bang, group sex, threesome, foursome, double penetration, triple penetration)

Original Characters: characters created by their own respective owners; different from fan characters in that they do not reflect the artist or writer’s fandom for entertainment media (antonym: fan characters)

Paddling: the act of using a paddle to spank another person for the sexual arousal or gratification of either or both parties (also see: spanking, whipping)

Pangender: a term used to describe people who feel that they cannot be labeled as male or female in gender

Pansexuality: also known as omnisexuality; refers to the potential for sexual attraction, sexual desire, romantic love, or emotional attraction towards persons of all gender identities and biological sexes; self-identified pansexuals may refer to themselves as gender-blind—that gender and sex are insignificant or irrelevant in determining whether they will be sexually attracted to others (also see: asexuality, bestiality, bi-curiousity, bisexuality, object sexuality, polysexuality, transsexuality)
