O Hellish Fear.
#1

His name is Payne. He has dark, enchanting, crimson red eyes and inch long fangs. He's portrayed as wearing a white, bloody hoodie and black jeans but no one has ever seen him before. He's known as an urban legend, created by a serial killer trying to describe himself. Hes 6"3' and has the muscular frame of a hockey player.

I yawn, walking down an empty street in New York, I'm twirling a blood stainedm jewel encrusted dagger in my fingers. I run my tongue across my fangs, looking for my next victim.

His name is Micah. He has stunning white hair and icy blue eyes. His skin is like porcelain, and almost as pale as his hair. He wears a dark blue hoodie with the hood up to hide his unusual hair color. Hidden from human sight; powerful white wings bend against his back. Sentenced to Earth in order to project those He cherished most. The humans. He's 5'9 with a lithe structure, strongest muscle area being his back to support his wings.

--

A cool breeze pushes at the edges of my hoodie, pulling the fabric tighter around my face as I go. The cold causes a chill to run down my spine, but my gut tells me it's more than just the temperature causing the hair to ride on the back of my neck. Something is hunting out here, hunting the humans.

Suddenly screams fill the streets, followed by the sounds of something eating. I drain the body of it blood and destroy the humans soul, wiping my mouth. I yank my blade out of the body after gutting it. I like the blood from my fangs and pull my hood up, walking back onto the main road.

There's the heavy accent of blood and my feet move faster, the burden of running actually safer in the heavy city with its many buildings. A rebel e within me cursing the area I'd been charged with-- Thoughts interrupted, I looked down to what tripped me up, pulling my hood up above my eyes. A human, already cold. He was close, I only had to follow his scent. One hand on the blade at my side, I followed the scent that left an iron taste on my tongue; knowing it would lead me to the beast that did this.

I'm leaning against a wall, twirling my knife. I yawn, exposing my dagger like fangs. When you lay your eyes on me you can't help but notice a shimmer or sparkle in my eyes, a slight, charming smirk on my face. I start to sing "Classic" by MKTO, hitting the notes perfectly, my voice so smooth, almost angelic. I start to dance, just being stupid but it seems like I actually have rhythm.

I can't help but stop at your strange appearance, head cocked in curiosity. My hand still hasn't left my blade; the threat of your fangs obvious despite the nonchalantness in the air. The movement, dancing I suppose, was fluid and graceful. Dangerous for a predator. "Stop that," I tried, the hand not holding the blade going to my hip. I can't help it, I'm not sure how to respond to this manner of acting. You're almost acting human... It was disturbing.

You notice my scent isn't just demonic, it's also sweet, almost vanilla scented. The scent of a human. You can tell I'm just being stupid but can't help but smile when I slip. "Wo-holy shit!!" I catch myself, laughing. "For fuck sakes Payne..." I shake my head and get up, obviously aware of your presence. "Gonna stand there and watch orrr you gonna try to end my "horrible" existence?"

And just like that; now I'm really confused. For a moment I let my hand slip from it's grasp against the blade's hilt. For a moment I ponder my nose's accuracy, could this silly halfling be the one I was hunting? I thought about looking around for some big daddy demon who was out teaching spawn to hunt. Fingers disappear beneath my hood to run through white strands of silk as I think of the safest question. "Are you alone?"

"Uhhh" I look around. "Yup, pretty alone. Always have been." I lick the blood off my daggers blade. I pull my hood down, exposing short, black hair, streaked with bleach blonde. You know I'm younger than you, despite my height and my muscular frame. I lean against a wall. "What's the percentage of me making it out of this alive?" I ask curiously, obviously hyped up and ready for a fight.

You're stranger than anything else I've come across; things that fight before talking. Because of your odd attitude, I'm not afraid to take a step forward, and then another soon after. I'm not sure if I'm annoyed or curious but it's probably a bit of both. Wings flick in agitation and I'm curious if you can see them or if your human side dulls your beast. "Slim," I let draw out; words warm and inviting as always despite the conversation. "Perhaps there's no chance." You're exited and I can't help but pull out the length of my own blade, the silver blade glistening in my hand. "I last a little longer than the humans."

(Sorry, I totally fell asleep on the couch.. Fail.)

I grin and gesture you over here as I pull my knife out. I drop the knife and step on it. "Now, normally I wouldn't hesitate to kill a fucker like you, seeing how easy it would be. Compare us and keep in mind I'm younger, I'm faster, and my instincts to kill are a lot sharper than yours." I run my tongue across my fangs. "I think of myself as a pretty fair guy. So, what do you say we be civil and talk it out instead of fight like beasts. You're honestly kinda cute, I would hate to see you get hurt." I smirk.

Cyan eyes watched the knife on the ground, eyebrows raised slightly beneath the hood. "Being younger does not necessarily mean that you're on top of the food chain." My eyes still on the blade beneath the other's feet, I came forward another step. "I've had years of experience over you." A scoff escaped me before I could stop it. At your next words my lips turned down in a frown as a grimace took over. "I'm not cute," I muttered, finally stepping into your space. The smell of blood on you assaults my nose, the blade in my hand making an obvious threat. "You're awfully cocky to be standing there with your blade on the ground."

I snarl, not moving. "Isn't it your duty to protect humans? The blood that courses through my veins isn't purely demonic." My blade appears in my hand and I begin to twirl it, stepping towards you. Each step forcing you back. "Being younger might not move me up on the food chain, but being demonic sure will. Your kind hides from us in the day but you're still foolish enough to venture out during hunting hours. You've had years of experience, I have years of training. You sure as hell have the guts needed to approach and taunt me, but I know for a fact your bravery does not overpower your common sense. It would be foolish to engage in a fight with a halfling." I sheath my knife.

You're right, of course. And that daunting realization pushes away the scent of blood and the sight of your kill for just a moment as the grip on my blade loosens. Human blood is still human blood, I cannot spill it. I'm forced backwards by your presence; losing all the ground I'd covered. As I step back, I left the silver blade fall from my own hands, looking up into your crimson red eyes as my hood falls back. "I don't need to spill your blood," I throw back, wings spreading to make myself look bigger. My hands come out in front of me as I hold my ground, feet no longer moving backwards. Maybe I'm a little foolish and younger than the others of my kind, but I couldn't find it in me to step back from your obvious taunting.

I grin smugly, knowing I had won. "Figured you would see it my way" I walk back to the wall I was leaning on. "By the way, I like your eyes. " I mutter, hoping you don't hear me or don't understand me. I pull my hood up, the only thing now visible are my crimson red eyes.

It's irritating, not being able to destroy you. The fact that you have human blood is startling, but I can't let it end here. For a moment I believe I hear you say something, but it sounds so crazy I pass it off as something else and focus on your turned back with curiosity. I follow a few steps behind you to the wall, hands across my chest as I cast a passing glance to my blade still on the ground. "Just because I can't cut you, doesn't mean I'll stand idly by while you continue your hunt." Ice blue meets a hot crimson as my eyes meet your's. "You will not harm another human tonight, I will watch you."

"Damn, even prettier up close..." I mutter then growl at myself. "Might as well introduce myself. I am the evil, the charming, the magnificent Payne." My name sends a cold shiver down your spine. You've heard the name many times before, but only when someone is speaking of an urban legend. An urban legend that is nightmare inducing, despite you being an angel.

Payne. "Of course you're Payne," the words fall as a mutter and I pray you don't hear me. The sudden realization sends another chill down my spine and I'm half tempted to say 'fuck it' and find something else to do tonight. I can't. There's a stubbornness that won't break and instead I try and force myself to meet your eyes again. I won't be intimated by a name when I saw you dancing and singing moments ago. "Who needs to praise you when you've got that covered yourself? You've got the vainess in you, are you related to Lucifer? He's just as prideful." I avoid giving you my name, defending myself with half-hearted taunting of my own.

"Hey, how did you know??" I grin, my eyes sparkling with mischief. "I'm his only living child" I watch you shutter as the words crawl up your back and reach your ear. I throw my knife into the air, catching it and repeating that over and over. "So why the fuck do you insist on babysitting me? Realize I'm just gonna go out tomorrow night and slaughter twice as many. What're you really doing here? You're not preventing murder, you're postponing it."

The shiver and shudder go through me before I can hold it back and I am sure you noticed. Of course it can't be helped, and the threat in those words were clear even if you did not mean them that way. "Classifications of your kind; Lucifer is symbolized with the sin of pride. You wear his badge well." My eyes dart from yours to the blade dancing in your hand. "You're the only threat to my domain right now; I'll follow you tomorrow. If you want to hurt a human you'll have to get through me first. Tomorrow, the next day... As long as it takes until you move on to the next angel's territory and are no longer my problem." My eyebrows furrow, sending you a stare to know I'm serious. Luminescent eyes starting at you through silver bangs.
