“Hey, baby,” Michael greeted Jace as he walked into the kitchen. “And hey, baby,” he said, rubbing his thumb across the swell of Jace’s belly. He felt Jace lean heavily against him and allowed him a few seconds to rest there, inhaling his familiar scent.
Placing a hand on each of Jace’s biceps, Michael gently pushed him away from him. “You look tired,” he said, sweeping away the hair that had flopped over Jace’s forehead. Jace sighed but didn’t saying anything and Michael took this as a sign not to probe any further...for now. Placing a kiss on his forehead, he let go of the other man and turned back to the stove.
“I made pasta primavera - some good carbs and veggies for you. So,” he said, dishing up a plate for each of them as Jace made his way to the kitchen table, “how was work? Did you get to speak to your source on the Allen trial?”
