Packed With Pups 2 (With Luxio018 and Lovebite)

"And we're going to need you all to help take care of them, you two more than the others." James comes over to the bed and looks the pups over for a minute or two before turning his attention to Tobias, smoothing his hair back from his face. "How are you feeling?"

"Mmhm... Dad's right about that."Tobias added as his head rested on his arm and he sighed, while he held the twins with his free arm carefully. Though opened up his eyes when James stroked his hair away from his face, giving him a small smile and exhaling as he laid back,"Loopy..."He replied,"That woman gave me something good to take the edge off."He murmured and his head turned to one side as he sighed,"Feels like I'm sleeping on cloud nine."

James nods slowly as he kisses his forehead "I do want you to get some rest." He turns to the twins then. "Come on, papa needs to rest and I'm going to need help with dinner." He didn't but it gave them something to do.

Tobias smiled softly and leant into the kiss slightly with a small hum,"It's fine..."He wanted to argue but got no further than that as he sighed, watching as the twins climbed off of the bed. "Give Pa a kiss before you go."He added and both children kissed each of his cheeks and he smiled before waving them off. "It's breakfast time, James..."He chuckled softly and laid his head back, closing his eyes with the newest litter of pups sleeping beside him.

"Either one, doesn't matter." They head into the kitchen, leaving Tobias and the newborn pups to sleep while they get started on breakfast.

It was a few nights later when they had lost their first few, Tobias just didn't seem to process it when he saw three of the pups just not moving when it came to feeding time. He stared at the three small pups and tried feeling their breaths on his fingers as he stroked their faces. The human had came back into the bedroom slowly after taking a long bath, he had gathered two other bottles of breastmilk from the cooler on the dresser. Though now they laid leaking on the floor as he knelt at the bed and he just couldn't understand what had happened. He didn't even call for James, he couldn't seem to find his voice after seeing, for the first time, the lifeless bodies of his own children. Not just one, but three out of the seven he had struggled so soon before now to give life to? No, it just couldn't be true.

When James does finally find him he says nothing, simply moving to kneel down beside the bed. After a few minutes he slowly reached out to place his hand on Tobias' shoulder. When Tobias made no move he then moved his hand down Tobias' back to wrap around his waist.

Tobias had tears in his eyes, but they didn't fall and he said nothing as he sat beside the bed on his knees, barely turning to James. His hand dropped into his lap from the pile of blankets that held the pups and he sat back into his lovers arms as he pressed his lips together. "I-I..."His voice wavered and he bit his tongue, he never thought that he would lose any of his children. He guessed he just had been living in blissful ignorance to think that it wouldn't happen to him. The human turned his face away and pressed himself into the others neck and shoulder with a quiet sob.

James keeps an arm wrapped around him, rubbing his back slowly. James still said nothing, just holding Tobias for a while as he pressed a light kiss to his hair.

It tooks him a while to gain strength to pull away from James carefully, wiping his eyes as he sniffed slightly and moved slowly to push himself back onto his feet. Grimacing at the tug from inside of him and not looking towards the bed as he moved towards the center of the room. He froze for a few moments, then looked around,"W-We... What should we do?"

"I'll handle it." James gets up and comes to the center of the room. "Go downstairs, find something to occupy yourself."

Tobias looked lost at the statement, he moved towards the bed again to collect the four remaining pups gently and press his face into their fluffy fur gently. Moving to leave the room slowly, still a small waddle in his step ever since the birth, it was just easier to walk while swaying from side to side. His hips were permanently shifted wider instead of going back to their normally narrow state after every other birth, this one changed him. For the better and worst. He headed down the stairs to find the rest of his children playing and he looked them over as he took a slow seat on the couch with all four, small pups nestled in his arms.

James stares at the other three, lifeless, pups on the bed for a few minutes before he wrapped them all up in a blanket. He slips the blanket into his jacket before making his way downstairs and out the door without so much as a glance toward the living room. He was outside for a while, missing dinner, a sandwich that Tobias managed to make for each of the pups. When he finally did return sometime around midnight only to find Tobias still sitting on the couch, holding the pups while the others were all asleep either on the floor or on the rest of the furniture.

Tobias had taken the time to let out all that he had been feeling for the short while the children were sleeping, his eyes were red rimmed and he held the newborns closely while they rested. Some squeaking softly before he shushed them gently and nosed them, he looked up at James when he walked through the door again. He didn't ask him what he did, he wasn't sure he wanted to know yet and simply looked towards the way towards the kitchen,"There's a sandwich for you if you're hungry."He murmured and watched the four at his chest, Tessa and a few of the younger pups were at his feet and around him.

James looks toward the kitchen for a minute before making his way over to the couch. He carefully picks up the few pups that were laying at his feet before moving them over to lay with the others. Before he kneels down between Tobias' legs before nosing lightly at his stomach before he moves to nuzzle each of the pups.

The human wanted to insist that the wolf ate, but he did want more contact, he felt empty without the other close to him now during the time where he wanted him most. Tobias looked down at James quietly when he nuzzled him, then press his quivering lips together into a thin line as he leant forwards so the pups were cradled between them. His nose pressing against his lovers as he purred softly in a broken tone, whimpering a bit as his eyes closed.

James moves a hand to lay lightly across Tobias' stomach as he moves to nuzzle along his beard covered jaw and up to his ear, flicking his tounge out to lip along Tobias' earlobe. Tobias felt a light nibble a few seconds afterward before James moves back down along his jaw.

Tobias felt what James was trying to ask, looking away as his arms wrapped around the pups against his chest and closing his eyes as his ear was licked and nibbled upon. He turned his face towards his partner to meet his eyes,"It's only been a few days."He murmured to him softly and let their lips almost touch as he shook his head,"We just lost three... I don't know if we should."He pressed his lips together then pulled away again as he looked down.

James moves to nuzzle against Tobias' stomach again befor eventually going stil, his eyes closing for a few moments.

He didn't speak again for a few moments, he couldn't translate this time to what James was thinking. As he laid his head against his still puffy stomach, he ran his fingers through his hair after shifting the pups into one arm against his side as they rested. "What is it?"He asked softly, though it was more of a grumble when he did.

James' eyes stay closed for a few more minutes, he seemed to be frozen in place. They stayed like that for a few minutes, Tobias' fingers still running through James' hair.
