What are you willing to share?
#1
I'm curious to know how much people are willing to share online about their personal lives, whether it be on social sites or on others.

I have a blog I keep as a diary which is friends only. Twitter, I use to keep up to date with friends and for general chattiness and tumblr for photos and I have Livejournal which is friends only and is used for my stories only.

Here's a list of sites I use.
Goodreads.
Livejournal.
Twitter.
Tumblr.
Mpreg Central.
Blogger.
Adultfanfiction.
Myfitnesspal.

And a whole lot of book sites and two porn (randyblue and cockyboys)

I blog on a semi-regular basis on livejournal, but everything other than my fics are friends locked. I had some problems with people taking information I posted and twisting it in bad ways, so I don't post anything very personal publically any more on LJ.

I also post on facebook probably way more than is healthy, though that too is set on friends only security preferences. Any one can find me, I think, but only people I'm friends with can see any of my information, updates, or photos.

I like to share...But only with people I trust.

I went through a phase where I was not afraid to share. I won't say that it ended badly, but you could say it came close enough for me to back off. I pick and choose. And I definitely keep my mpreg side away from my everyday side.

I'm completely anonymous on this site, as well as any other adults-only I go to (which really isn't many - this one is pretty much the only one I frequent). I do have a Facebook and use it to promote my website and discuss politics with friends, but that's it. It's open to the public I believe. I don't really share anything other than politics or the occasional musing about language or a video game... well, and Doctor Who stuff.

I'm more open here than I am with my alternate art accounts and such. In real life, nobody has a clue about who I am or what I'm really thinking, lol. But I do keep anything to do with my main projects and alternate aliases 99% separate from this one. My FA, DA and MPC gallery are connected, but I don't share anything from those three on my main art profile or vice-versa.

I don't generally share much. Occasionally I'll toss off some small item or another (like with some of the threads here on the General Discussion board), but it is limited, and only what I generally feel like sharing. I hate to say that any personal information about myself is nobody else's business, because that sounds totally rude even in a face-to-face conversation, and when it's said on-line... But at the same time, I just feel uncomfortable giving out certain pieces of personal information, particularly on-line.

It does sometimes feel awkward revealing certain things being both conservative and a prude. For some reason though once I've become comfortable with a few groupmates and find true commonality its hard to not share. I think it stems from being able to share with friends face to face. I did make my feelings clear to my wife while we were dating and even dressed up one time with her. Its strangely therapeutic to be able to share the oddity that I am with people who might understand.
