Resident Evil: Lost Files (Closed with Hyenadog)
#1
Umbrella was broken after Chris and Jill's final assault in Russia (Umbrella Chronicles). The BSAA became a fully recognized organization and their efforts against BOWs began to spread. Two agents are sent to Wales to investigate a mansion from one of Umbrella's former scientists. There's been rumors circulating through the town and that's enough reason to make sure the place stays down. However, the doctor here has plans and refuses to let them go down the drain. Like Spencer, he wished to survive. He had to rebuild the formula that worked for Wesker, but like any test, he needed subjects. Their arrival could not have come at a more unfortunate time. By now, news had circulated about the death of Albert Wesker (Resident Evil 5). It was time to get started.

Setting: A coastal town in West Dale, Pembrokshire.
Weather: Gray skies from the season of Rain.
Time: A little into the afternoon.
Timeframe of story: A little after Resident Evil 5, a little between Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (The return of Claire Redfield and Barry as well as the reveal of one of the other Weskers, Alex Wesker) and well before the events of Resident Evil 6.

Name: Oisin Sjöström or Stroma for basics
Age: 24
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 170 lbs
Physical Description: His hair is a dirty blonde, long if left untouched, but is usually cut in a military style fade, complete with a precision line a little above his forehead. His eyes are a deep blue rather than bright and he spots a stubble on his chin. He has a buff upper body, from prioritizing upper body regiments with a leaner middle frame to his waist. This allows him to be flexible as well as offer strength to lift others up or climb up things should the need arise.
Ethnic Origin: Welsh-Irish
Small Bio: Joined the BSAA after spending time with the army. He operates as the team's communication, but is also primarily a scout, well suited with pistols and a long knife to the prototype Anti-Materiel Rifle (weapon that Piers Nivans will use in it's finalized state by Resident Evil 6) to even a rifle that specializes in rapid fire to small bursts. He is selected to investigate the town because of familiarity of the area.

The rain had begun to settle over when the small white motor boat pulled into the pier. Oisin's casual sneakers planted on the wooden docks firmly as he exited the boat. He was handed his bags as the driver mentioned which Hostel they were being set up into. There was no reason for him to wear his BSAA attire just yet. After all, it was just rumors that were circulating. If anything checked out, they would still be more than ready for the situation.

"Ever been here before" his Irish tone rung out as he asked his partner the question. "It's usually a lovely place to come to for vacation. I'd hate for it to go down the drain because of some mad scientist having their way again."

He walked down the pier with two duffel bags resting on his shoulder and both hands gripping them each for proper support. He waited at the end for his partner to catch up before they headed into the village, or small town.

Name: Tobias R. Garou
Age: 28
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 175 lbs
Physical Description: Tall and slim with a runner's build and toned muscle. His hair is thick and often kept long, usually tied back or braided. His skin is a warm tanned tone naturally and bears a few scars and tattoos. Usually clean shaven due to his difficulty growing facial hair, but will sometimes sport chin fuzz. Has sharp ice-blue eyes that seem to change tone depending on his mood. Its really just a reflection of the lighting.
Ethnic Origin: Native American/irish
Small Bio: Started as just a cop but moved into investigations soon after due to his sharp attention to detail. He got caught up in the chaos brought by Umbrella and eventually joined the BSAA. He specializes in handguns and close combat.

Tobias wasn't a fan of being on a boat at all...being on one in this kind of glum weather didn't help. He felt queasy, but was munching on candied ginger to help it go away. He stuffed the bag into his pocket as the boat pulled up and docked. He shouldered his own bag and followed his partner off, heavy boots clunking on the old weather beaten pier.

"No. I've wanted to come out here." He said, looking around. Despite the gloomy day, it was pleasant and the air was certainly cleaner than back home. "We'll get to the bottom of this." He said, giving a smile as he followed Oisin down the pier. He directed them to the hostel using a map he'd brought, but let the other take charge.

Oisin smiled.

"That's great to hear," he stated, walking forward when Tobias caught up. "Maybe if everything checks out, we can check it out before returning to base."

That sounded like an idea for him at least. Last person he traveled with for an investigation, the trip to Stonehenge was relatively shot lived. The bright side of the situation? There was a majini dressed like a Medieval executioner hotel. Oisin basically was given permission to tear through a five-star hotel for no particular reason at all so long as it meant the infected large figure was killed. The person behind it however seemed too petty, small in terms of ideas. They believed that he was just being supplied, but could never trace it to an exact spot. Oisin did think perhaps this could be related even though they were practically further away.

They were five miles into the town when his map indicated that the Hostel was to their right. He looked at the two-story building, particularly the wooden framed door that clearly reeked of old century stylized for modern ventures. He gripped the handle as there was no actual knob and pulled the door backwards. Before them was a small pub, slightly busy as the barista tended to the individuals sitting to have a meal and some drink. The further he stepped forward, the more cozy the warmth of the building provided to the decent smell of a home cooked meal.

"We have a room." he stated to the owner or he assumed she was when she asked them if she could help them. He showed her the receipt and he face lit up.

"Ah...IN that case" she walked away, motioning for them to follow. "We made sure that you were situated properly and gave you a room to better suit that need."

She opened the door, revealing a room with two beds and an open window, which gave them a clear view of the mansion a little far away. A perfect opportunity to stake the environment around them just in case something strange went on. On the bed were news articles about various strange sightings and some disappearances.

"Thank you very much" he said to her with a smile. "When's dinner?"

Once they were given the time, she left them to their personal affairs. Oisin dropped both of his bags on the bed, locking the door behind him just in case anyone was listening. Umbrella may have been gone, but there were still remnant of the large company. First thing was setting up the computer and starting up the frequency jammer. They were secured that way. Once the computer was set up, he began to tune the frequency until a figure on the other screen appeared. Their boss, known as Linda McCarthy.

"Now that you're there," she stated. "It's time to brief you fully."

Tobias nodded to Oisin suggestion. He liked the idea of spending some time out here. This was actually his first mission, so he wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but he was prepared for anything. Adjusting his bag on his back, he followed his partner's lead, remaining quiet as they walked. He was a quiet person, only speaking when needed. He focused on listening to his surroundings more than anything else, a lesson he learned early on in his career.

He couldn't help smiling when they got to the hostel, it was such a pleasant place, the kind of place he wanted to live. Such a lived-in warm feeling as they walked in. And the way it smelled, good food and a warm fire. He looked around as Oisin talked to the owner, looking up when she motioned for them to follow, heading up to their room.

Once she was gone, he set his things on his bed, pulling out his laptop and plugging it in. He watched Oisin set his things up, idly stretching and grunting when his back popped. He sat down on the bed once things were set up, watching his partner's computer. He sat up when their boss came up on the screen, ready to listen to the briefing.

Oisin plugged in some speakers that had a curve to them. Believe it or not, sound could be altered by the pattern in which they circulated, like a wave actually. By having the speakers curve in a certain angle, he could prevent prying ears from hearing through the walls. Still, he reached into his bag, pulling out a Springfield XDS 9mm from a small silver case among others. He always preferred it's design over a few pistols and always stuck with it ever since. He pieced the weapon together relatively quick, walked around the room for possible surveillance, moving objects here and there to make sure there were no hidden cameras.

"Coast is clear" he stated to his boss.

"Good" she responded, pushing up her glasses. "Now on to business."

The blueprints of the Mansion appeared on screen, which would be updated to their gear. She explained the situation clearly, how they correlated to the missing persons reports and the rumors of things that sounded worse than the theories of dear ol' Nessie in Scotland.

"Based on the reports as well as the habitat around you all, the reports are indicating Bio-Organic Weapons of the Amphibian variety. Oisin probably knows more about them, so I will explain to fill you in a Tobias."

The image next to her changed from the mansion to a creature that resembled a frog. Hunter Gamma, it was called, which differed from the usual most were used to seeing, particularly back in the attack on island Terragrigia back to the first outbreak in Raccoon City. She continued further, detailing the particular differences from the other.

"Usually the regular Hunter has the distinctive trait to jump down on it's victim for an instant kill with it's sharp arm" she explained. "The Gamma lacks that, but it's hands do have barbs meant to paralyze the prey and without treatment, eventual death. It's tongue can extend, much like the frog from which it was developed from, and open it's mouth forth to swallow whole it's victims. We can only hope that it's not such a thing, but if it is, you know what you must do. The mansion seems to be the likely choice given the location of the cove offshore from it. This is where most of the incidents have arrived."

Like usual, the images changed, the cove appearing as well as the actual layout of the mansion itself.

"Maybe we should check it out tonight" Oisin stated. "The cove at least. If all checks out to be normal, then we wouldn't have to go inside the mansion. Is it true that it's one of the scientists though? I thought they all were killed by Wesker."

She nodded. "Those are the reports, but there is also this disturbing fact pulled up from the Africa incident: There may be more than one Wesker out there. Do be careful."

The screen went black, but the panel that Oisin would wear for his gear on his arm and wrist lit up. The information was sent there for him. He did not want to say it, but the idea of going in that mansion bugged him out on every level. The briefing had lasted for an hour, which by then, a knock came to their door.

"Dinner is ready" a young voice chimed in.

"Well," Oisin stated to his partner. "Let's get started."

Tobias remained quiet during the briefing, idly playing with one of the rings on his finger. He had always been the strong silent type, preferring to listen and watch those around him.

He shifted a little closer to see the blueprints, having some training in reading them. He was looking for any anomalies in the layout. He had heard things about other Umbrella locations being booby trapped or having hidden rooms. He'd read the report on Raccoon city and the mansion there, he knew to expect strange things.

He paused at the image that popped up next, intrigued by the mutated creatures created by Umbrella. "seems easy enough to kill...go for the head." He mumbled, nodding his head slightly. "And if they are frogs, they probably make some idle noises, so we'll keep a sharp ear out for those." He added as an afterthought.

He went quiet again, listening to the remainder of the briefing before looking down at his own gear. He idly poked at the blueprint images, zooming in for better views before he heard the knock on the door.

A smile crossed his face when he heard dinner was ready, looking back to Oisin. "right. I'm sure dinner will be fantastic."

(sorry for the wait, kind of hit a block there)

(No worries. I've been stuck on my phone these past few days, so posts are coming. Sorry for the delay.)

Those were plausible ideas on how to take them out. It was certainly worth the try, but if memory served him correctly, Hunters all the same were tough to deal with. They weren't like the Lickers, the final result of most zombies after being exposed to the T-Virus. They were some kind of finalized product already, designed to do one thing: Hunt. Oisin kept his gun on him, adding the holster to his waist.

"Yea" he nodded in response to the idea of dinner. "I love a decent home cooked meal."

He wasn't let down to say the least. They were served a form of Kale soup, complete with potatoes and a form of Italian sausage. It amazes him how well recipes travelled far around the world, though with the owner's last names bearing the name Federico, it was clear where their origins were from. It came as no shock that a lovely pasta was also served as well.

Dinner was done and over with and now came an end to formalities. After a quick shower, Oisin was dressed in his BSAA attire: A black Kevlar framed shirt with dark sea green short sleeves complete with the BSAA logo of Europe, Black combat pants with black steel toe framed boots, two sleeves for his arms that were used for him to place his tablet within for communications and hacking and fingerless gloves to go over them where they stopped at his wrist. He loaded his other pistol, but it was clear he was packing something heavier: his black Anti-Materiel Rifle. It's design allowed for him to be able to carry it like a case, able to snap into place instantly when the time was ready. He equipped the Night Vision scope.

"Time to go see what the fuss is all about."

He opened the window. No need to alarm the guests down below in the pub with fully decked out gear. The floor wasn't all that high up and with careful climbing down the pipeline, they'd land on the brick laden road with relative ease. Oisin began to lead the way, following the tablet on his arm to their destination: The cove and the ever illusive mansion nearby.

Tobias would figure out how to take out anything they encountered. He had studied some papers on the mutated creatures created by the viruses and had a pretty good idea how to take them out. But right now, his mind was on dinner.

"I've been starving since we walked in here, smells like wonderful food." He said, chuckling as he got up to follow his partner down for dinner. He wasn't let down either, it was delicious. He even had seconds. For such a skinny person, he could put away food like crazy. But he controlled himself and just had two helpings before heading back up to their room with Oisin.

His equipment was pretty much identical to his partner's. He had reinforced knuckles on his gloves, and a few hidden knives on his person. Along with his larger combat knife attached to his chest. He carried a smaller rifle, slung onto his back with spare clips stored in slots attached to his body armor. He stretched and twisted in his uniform, making sure nothing was too tight or too loose before looking to his partner and nodding.

He climbed after him, landing a bit heavy with his steel toe boots. But he was up and ready to follow the other's lead on their mission.

(I've been playing Resident Evil 7. Sorry for the slight delay lol)

Walking through the village was fun at night. Thanks to the weather from earlier, the rain slicked the brick road, but thanks to their boots, they did not slip in any form. Now, the moon was above them, shining dow with partly cloudy skies. He led the way through, but stopped every once in a while to take a selfie with his phone and just a few other moments within the night, because why not. They were away from the village, walking several miles through and out, their boots now touching the sands of the shorelines.

"Look at that" he said aloud to his partner, his finger pointing upwards. "Looks just like those creepy old mansions you hear about in stories."

He chuckled, but he did have a point. The lights did not seem to be on with what appeared to be a castle-like mansion resting on the hillsides near the beach itself. In broad view before them was the cove, two large slabs of mountain rock conveniently converging together to make a sheltered place of water, shorelines and what appeared to be camp fire. Oisin could hear the nearby chatter of locals as even though it was sprinkling with small amount of rain, they remained unphased. He was assuming that they were young individuals and just from the glance alone, they had cameras.

"Boy..." he stated underwhelmingly. "Conspirators if I ever saw 'em. Looks like they're trying to be your average run o' the mill Ghost Huntahs. I doubt they'll find ghosts though."

They needed to break them up before they got themselves into danger. The reports read right. This was a typical ground for this kind of Hunter. Amateur kids trying to solve the mystery was not going to help either. As Oisin got closer, he noticed something. It could have almost been hard to make out in the dark, but he alerted Tobias in the direction quickly. Something was in the water, waiting patiently on the nearing teens or young adults. Like a Crocodile. Oisin reached for his rifle instantly.

"I'll take point and provide cover. You go them out of there!"

He began running already, looking at a gray boulder nearby for a point of sniping. As soon as he got there, he added a tripod under his rifle, his night vision giving him a good view of the area, which fortunately for him, he did not have to see the fire nearby.

"It's bad..." his voice echoed through the earpiece to Tobias. "There's three coming out the water, slowly."

(lol, its ok)

Tobias chuckled and shook his head, watching his partner take pictures as they walked. He snapped a few of his own, figuring he might as well. He looked up when they reached the lake, seeing the old mansion. "Wow, that is hard core horror movie." He laughed, snapping a picture of it and showing Oisin. "Great angle." He said, tucking his phone away.

He looked over to the people, frowning. Tugging a pair of binoculars to get a better look. "Yeah, ghost hunters. Low light cameras, recording devices, flashlights." He said, lowering the binoculars. He looked over when Oisin took off, raising them to watch where he was talking about. "I see them. If you shoot one, the other two will probably attack the kids." He said, frowning. "I could toss a grenade and distract them...." He said, wanting to try some options.

(Lost my original post to this, so it took just a little bit longer, which also caused this post to be a bit short than I intended. My apologies)

Decisions had to be made. If he fired now, he would have to reload and by then one of those damned B.O.Ws would have likely attacked. If a grenade was thrown in the water, then maybe that would have not only startled the Hunters as well as possibly damage them, but also cause the teens to run away from the sound.

"Throw the grenade" he ordered. "And try to warn them to get away from the area."

He had to get ready. The explosion would likely cause them to jump out the water, but they wouldn't be effective as they were when waiting on their prey. They would be stunned or damaged. He could then begin picking them off if possible. The time to react was now.

(lol, its ok)

Tobias was trying to think this through right along with Oisin, trying to decide what would be the best option. Then he got an idea. "They're in the water...A flash bang might give enough of a shockwave to badly injure them in the water." He said, pulling one out of his pack. He held it like a baseball, taking a slow breath before pulling the pin and pitching it at the water near the hunters.

It hit the water, catching the attention of one of the hunters before it went off beneath the surface. There was a flash of light followed quickly by the explosion throwing a shockwave of water. Being beneath the water, the hunters were hit with the full force, causing any air inside their body to ripple through them. The closest hunter quickly drowned as its lungs were badly damaged, but the others scrambled out of the water.

The kids nearby, freaked out by the noise and lights, panicked and turned tail, heading back the way they came.

( And right as soon as I posted, I get pulled to an unexpected cruise lol)

That was good; the teens ran from the sounds and sights, safe from the actual harm. The other Hunters that survived proved to be a bit persistent however. One of them shot their tongue outwards, the red sticky object wrapping around one of the male's legs. It's mouth opened extremely wide, ready to consume the figure whole. That was until a round fired and the top of it's head came clean off. The tongue was still attached, but it was dead. He readied his rifle for the other, trusting Tobias to handle the caught male. When it tried to jump, it threw Oisin's aim slightly off, the bullet hitting it' in the leg instead of the chest. That was good though. That meant the creature couldn't jump again, but it was still attempting to crawl after everything else. He reloaded and fired again, delivering the final blow to it.

(lol)

Tobias ran to help the boy who was caught by the hunter, pulling out his knife to chop the tongue off and unwrap his leg. "Go, run." He said, helping the kid up and pointing to where his friends went. With that, he went to examine the dead hunter, shifting the body with the end of his knife. "big and ugly." He mumbled, making a face.

He looked over to where Oisin had been, giving a nod and hand gesture to let him know everything was good. Though, they would need to be careful if there was more hunters nearby.
