He'd heard about it, mainly through random people and reports that had been filed for missing person cases. People were dropping out of their work or disappearing altogether in some cases. People were also catching sight of strange things. As a policeman, he was of course tasked with finding out what was going on. Antonio was a policeman in a small, not very eventful city... Not that many really knew of the situation as most just brushed it off as idle conspiracy chatter. It had started in the spring of last year. Supposedly within the less densely populated areas of the city where one could clearly see the stars and such, strange lights had supposedly been spotted above by a few, mainly while driving or camping. Others claimed to have seen space crafts and been abducted by aliens, but they had been ignored or written off as crazy. Today, he'd been asked by his colleagues if he believed all the hype. Of course, he said no. He was one of the many nonbelievers. He didn't think that aliens were already hiding among them and doing... Well whatever it was they would do in such a scenario. He personally though it was a bit foolish to think that people had been taken by aliens rather than providing a more rational explanation like some crazy person or a serial killer.. Or even people just leaving because they didn't want to be found.

He found himself working late with a few others, still sitting in his office and comparing a list of alleged 'alien abductions'. To be honest, he just though it was some killer running around snatching people up but he was pretty sure everyone else in the office believed that more so than this alien abduction thing that some local crazies had offered up. It was almost time for him to make the trip home anyway and he was honestly ready to do that. They had got nothing but reports of missing people and they had yet to get any real leads at this point. About seven people were missing so far and in the quiet town of Autumn Ridge that was a big number.

Looking back, he saw that one of the officers, Frank, was returning from his outing. He was back with a few snacks it seemed. "Hey, hey." He went to sit everything down on an open table. The remaining few officers in the building allowed their attention to be torn from their files and lit-up screens. "Come get your food. We'll consider it a needed break." And it was. Antonio got up and moved to grab the little hamburger he'd had his colleague get for him. He nodded his thanks and moved to take a seat, throwing his legs up on his desk and leaning back in his chair.

"I can't believe people think it was aliens. What technologically superior race would want to land in this dump?" Frank muttered as he moved to join the gathered officers. "Maybe that's why they're here. Since no one comes here, of course they'd want to invade a no name town like this one." One of the younger ones, Tyson, pointed out. He was a rookie and he had been here for a few weeks now. This drew some groans and eye rolls from a few other cops.

That was when the phone began to ring. Antonio set his burger aside and moved to get it. "911, what's your emergency?" The voice that answered was the meek, quiet whisper of a woman. "I... I." She was stammering, seemingly unable to talk. "Ma'am?" Finally she managed to get it out. "I think someone just broke into my house." She said. "I-I'm on Klein Street." She gave her address as well as quickly and quietly as she could. "Find a good place to hide and wait for us to get there. We'll be over in a few." He set the phone back down and looked towards the others, frowning. Because of how small the town was, this wasn't much of a police force really. It was nothing like the big offices one might see in a city but it was all they had. "Come on. We've got a break in on Klein Street. You three stay here though." He gestured to the two rookies  and one of their more experienced officers to stay behind and watch them. Antonio turned to leave the office, grabbing his coat on the way out. Hopefully that lady would be alright.

His partner stood as well, grabbing his fries and making sure he wasn't leaving anything behind that he wanted to bring with him as he followed Antonio out of the building. Holding the cardboard of the fries between his teeth and zipping his navy blue jacket to brace against the winter air outside. He opened up the squad car door and climbed inside, feeding himself a few more fries, "I'd bet it's just a spook from her husband, something like that. When do we ever get a legit break in?"

The man splayed his long legs out in front of him and glanced at Antonio with those curious hazel eyes of his, raising his brows and finishing off his fries. Clearing his throat, he half wished he would have brought something to drink too as he crumpled up the fry box and tossed it in the cup holder.

The town had rubbed off on all of them after years of uneventful cases, ones that led to the rumors of 'aliens', it would take a little bit for them to actually get off their asses. And it wouldn't be some old stupid folk tales.

Chauncey took the time in the car to pull up his dreadlocks into a hairtie, adjusting it so his cap would slip onto his head just right after almost all day sitting doing paperwork inside.

"Never with all these goddamn aliens running around." Antonio was painfully sarcastic in his response to Chauncey. He was already pulling the door open and slipping into the driver's seat. He glanced out the rearview mirror, seeing some of the others passing by quickly. When he was sure no one was in the way he was backing out and heading down the street.

He found himself hoping they didn't end up driving down here for nothing. He hadn't brought his food like his partner had so it would end up getting cold and he still had paperwork he wanted to finish before he left to go home. He was maybe a little jaded at this point, annoyed at the realization that it was probably going to end up being yet another case of someone trying to point their finger at these so-called 'aliens'.

Upon arriving on the street, he pulled himself out of the car. Frank and Catherine, the other two cops that had accompanied them, were moving to exit their own car. "Lets get this over with then." He muttered just loud enough for Chauncey to hear as he grabbed his gun from it's holster. He held it downwards, but he had his hand where he could easily point it upwards and pull the trigger.

Klein street was a relatively quiet street out in the fields to the west of the town. It was further out there on the outskirts, but it was still a part of the city and mainly used as farmland. Of course, that was exactly what this was too, a roomy looking farm house. He moved forward down the path towards the home. He was surprise to find that the door was already open. As a matter of fact, the door was wide open as though someone had entered it forcefully. He glanced at his partner. Certain this wasn't something this woman's husband had done now. For now, they would have to search the perimeter. He signaled for Frank and his partner to take the house. He and Chauncey would search outside for now and make sure there wasn't any vehicle in the area the possible thieves had used to get here... If the woman that had called wasn't out here trying to get away. Hopefully she was still inside, hiding somewhere.

"Yeah, lets." He nodded as he climbed out of the passenger seat, Chauncey placed a hand on his own gun handle and flicked the button open that held his holster closed, placing a hand briefly on his partner's shoulder and gesturing with his head toward the way that leads around to the back of the house and garage, "There."

Not saying much more than that, the door to the garage was open and the cars hazards were on, the four of them knowing to secure the area and spread out around both entrances of the house, he checked the windows as they stalked slowly around the husk of a house, though he didn't see inside that much due to how dark it was. His gun lifted at the ready, knowing something was amiss now, it was in the air, he met eyes with his partner, "Somethings fishy."

Chauncey had knots in his stomach as he made it around the corner of the house and looked to the back porch that was screened off, heading forward to the garage where the car sat idle,"Think she's in there?" He asked, taking his time, cautious of the scene.

Antonio looked towards the way his partner nodded. Giving a nod of his own, he began to make his way carefully towards the back of the house. Nearby, he head a faint rustling and glanced to his left but he didn't see anything. Brushing it off as the wind or some small creature, he kept going. "No kidding..." He murmured as he looked towards Chauncey in a brief glance. Something was definitely wrong here. It had become very obvious upon seeing the door slung carelessly open like it had been. He slowed down the closer he got to the corner, peaking around to make sure there was no one back there. Of course, there wasn't anyone there, but he remained tense and ready even as he moved closer to the garage.

Antonio took a look around. It was very dark around back and the lights didn't seem to be on in the garage. "Who knows.. Lets just hope she's somewhere we can find her."

The garage was, at least, illuminated by the faint light of the moon. It made it easy to see something was amiss here. Things were strewn on the floor and he found that there was an odd trail of.. Slime was it? He frowned. "What the hell?..." His voice was quiet. It seemed to be a trail of translucent, greenish gunk. He hadn't seen anything like it before but he didn't yet go to check it out. They needed to see if that woman was in here first. He turned to look into the windows of the car, but he didn't see her at all. The windows had been smashed in though, almost as though she had actually hid in here only for her pursuer to find out she was in there. He heard the sounds of a barking dog come from the field on their left. It sounded angry, but he didn't see it amidst the tall stalks of corn. It seemed like the animal would keep on baying and growling but it was suddenly silenced out of nowhere almost.

He looked back towards Chauncey. "We should maybe see wherever this stuff leads us to." He pointed to the goo. It looked to be fresh, but he didn't know. He wasn't going to touch to find out. He was starting to get a little worried, but he kept a fairly straight face.

Chauncey's neck hair stood on end, he stopped briefly at the rustle and looked toward the field though nothing popped up at them and he was almost glad for it staying hidden, whatever it was. He jogged to catch up with Antonio, standing beside him again and sticking with him as they approached the truck, not one to be the lone wolf even after academy training,"Careful." He added as his partner stepped toward the side of the vehicle and he went around himself to the other side, taking a breath to keep his finger from getting itchy against the trigger of his standard issue 9m.

He didn't know if they would be finding a survivor or a body at the sight of the car, there was blood, not a lot but enough to be worrisome, the man walked around to the front of the car and grimaced as he felt something squelch beneath his boot,"Fuck..." He complained, not wanting to look down to see what it was, though he did finally as he lifted his foot once more, gagging at the sight of whatever slime coated the floor and now the bottom of his shoe,"That's rancid..."

The other man lifted his gun again toward the sound of the barking, eyes widening at the sound, he wondered what had the dog so spooked,"Maybe it's a vacuum..." He half-joked, glancing to Antonio slightly and stepping back out toward the gravel driveway, dragging his foot to get the foul smelling goo off of his foot, joking helped him stay focused and not panicked as he most likely would have been without them. Until the dog stopped and his eyes were drawn back to the cornfield, shaking his head, "I'm not going in there."

Their eyes met and then went toward the goo again, brows knit together,"Yeah. Anywhere but the fucking corn." he muttered and looked toward the yellow field again, holstering his gun and keeping a hand rested on it,"Should I call? What was her name again?"

"Me neither... We'd need a whole team if we were going to go out there.." Antonio was thinking of going to get Frank and Catherine, but whatever left this awful smelling goo had to still be out there. Exiting the garage, he looked around to see where that trail led and finally realized it led down a little path into the corn field. It'd be smart to call for backup, one again. He wanted to say it could be an animal, but what animal left trails of slime that thick? Surely there wasn't a giant slug out there, he thought to himself quite sarcastically. He liked to think it was a prank gone horribly wrong judging by the blood and he wouldn't put it past some local crazy trying their damnedest to make them think that there really were aliens that were breaking into people's homes and leaving this slop on the ground like this.

"She never said what her name was, but yeah you should call her. The number I got was 773-9109." He stood by the garage, hearing another rustling in the corn. He turned his dark brown gaze towards the field. It was silent tonight, almost as though the animals in the area had been scared off by something. He didn't go anywhere near the field, but he heard what sounded like a low growl. He squinted his eyes a bit, trying to focus on the darkness of the path the slime led through. Nothing came out though and he saw nothing so part of him wanted to believe that dog barking from earlier was okay... But he didn't think that was the case here. His grip on his gun tightened and he looked towards his partner. He wanted to say it was just a rabid dog, but a rabid dog probably would have run out on them already.

He was just looking out over the grassy fields to the left of the corn, spotting something out there. Unlike the thing on all fours, the thing out there stood upright, albeit it was hunched over. He couldn't really make out any real features as it was fairly far away. He blinked, hoping it was a figment of his imagination, but it was still there, watching them. "There's something out there." He pointed in the direction of the silent figure. He didn't say it was the woman they were looking for. It looked nothing like a woman. It was a big, bulky looking creature. Almost like what a bear looked like when it reared up on it's hind legs, but he didn't see an legs at all. It looked more like it only had a long, snake like tail and possibly arms but he couldn't tell from just an inky, black blob that faintly resembled a creature. For all he knew, it was just a tree or some weird amalgamation of objects that just looked that way.

Chauncey took out his phone and punched in the numbers, holding it up to his ear then, he shifted his weight from foot to foot as he moved further down the driveway. Hearing the rustling as well, he turned to meet eyes with Antonio and then toward the cornfield, his own hand reflexively moving toward the grip of his gun. Leaning his head to keep the phone between his shoulder and cheek, moving his hand to grasp his flashlight instead,"What?"

He squinted into the darkness, stepping closer to his partner again and pulling out his flashlight, turning it on and pointing it toward the giant lump that stood in the middle of the field. It didn't register at first, he wasn't exactly sure what they were looking at as he blinked and didn't even tear his eyes away from the sight,"Do you... You see that too, right?"

His heart was in his throat, even without it moving it sent off his flight or fight reflexes and he tightened his grip around his flashlight before he could drop it. Eyes widened as much as they could go, as if that would help him figure out what exactly they were looking at.

He hadn't even realized that the phone had gone to voicemail beneath his ear, grabbing it and blindly hanging up,"S-Should we..." His voice broke off and he wasn't sure what to say any more as he made a decision,"Inside. Now." He pushed his phone into his front pocket and kept his light on it,"Let's go." This screamed danger.

Antonio nodded slowly when his partner asked him if he saw that as well. He took a single step back, tentatively almost as though he felt like there would be something behind him as well. Even as Chauncey ordered them to go inside, he didn't argue. He was already heading to the back door, though he didn't leave his partner behind. He glanced back multiple times, mainly because he didn't see it that second time he looked back. All he saw was the faintly illuminated field of grass and the forest beyond it.

He fumbled with the door, but got it open and was quick to get inside. That was when he heard Frank's voice from another room, shouting. "Oh shit!" Antonio glanced at Chauncey before he moved off to find Frank and Catherine. The two of them were in the kitchen and fortunately they were alright. Nothing had come in on them, but upon getting to the kitchen, they found someone lying on the floor. It was a man and Antonio was certain this was her husband. He could see why Frank had shouted like he had though. The man in question had been attacked judging by the awful bite wound on his leg. "They..." He was speaking, though he was probably going to pass out. Catherine was already calling an ambulance though. "They.. Those things... Took my wife!" Antonio had a feeling that figure out in the field had something to do with this. "The.. The aliens...." It was the only thing he could finish off with as his head fell over. Frank had already set to work trying to get his leg to stop bleeding. The man hopefully wouldn't die before the paramedics arrived to really save him.

"Have either of you found his wife in here?" Antonio asked. "No.. He kept hysterically insisting that she was taken by bug men." Frank responded. "Bug men?..." Antonio frowned at that. More talk of aliens?... Well after that figure they'd just seen out there, he almost felt like they didn't have room to be skeptical anymore. "We should call for backup at least. There was something else out there with us. It looked like a bear, but..". "Oh come on, don't tell me you think it was aliens too..." Frank rose a brow at him. "No, I'm just saying it could have been an animal or some idiot playing dress up.. Either way, we should be careful when we go looking for her. There some weird shit going on here and I really don't want to end up getting killed because we weren't careful enough." They couldn't wait for the daytime to start looking for this woman. If someone had actually taken her, there was no telling what they were going to do to her. They had to wait for backup though.. They probably needed to call some of the off duty cops in because they obviously didn't have enough at the office to help them here with two rookies and two experienced policemen. It'd be good training for the rookies but in all honesty, he almost worried the rookies wouldn't be able to handle this sort of thing. They didn't really have a choice though, did they? If they wanted to find that woman, they needed to start as soon as possible.

Chauncey kept his back to Antonio's, watching the field behind them as they backed straight up onto the stairs of the back porch and let the screen door slam behind them, he didn't see it either, even though he had kept his eyes on it it seemed that once he blinked it had simply vanished. Despite how hard that would have seemed with it being the size it was, he took a breath and locked the storm door as he tucked his flashlight back into his belt, looking up quickly when he heard their friend and meeting his eyes before heading into the kitchen. Shit was right, the man looked like he had been through the ringer, he moved closer and couldn't believe what he was hearing, though before he could question him further he was already unconscious.

"Christ..." The man moved to the window above the skin, looking into it and checking outside as he thought about what he and Antonio had seen, it couldn't be aliens... That was just not... not probable, though of course with all of the evidence how could he just say that it wasn't true. With the man lying there bleeding from a nasty looking bite mark and his wife gone, probably dragged through the cornfield back there, he turned toward the other cops, "Exactly, there was something fucking huge out there, and alien or not, we've got to be careful about it and find her before shit gets any worse."

He did his best not to think about the kidnappers being extraterrestrials and focused on keeping the courage to go out and risk his life for the woman, it is his job description and all. "I'll call backup." He said as he moved to the door of the kitchen, placing a hand on his radio and pressing the button as he relayed the information and called the team in for backup.

Frank sighed. The big man nodded. "Well as unsure as I am about whatever you two saw, I'll trust your judgement." He couldn't disagree with them on what it was. He hadn't seen it and so he couldn't say for sure. He would let them handle it though. For now, he had to stay with that woman's husband. There was no telling what else had been done to him. The bite was pretty obvious, but for all he knew, there could even be internal bleeding somewhere.

Antonio let Chauncey go to radio for backup. He waited by Frank, occasionally looking out the window to make sure nothing else had followed them up here. It would be bad if they had endangered the others. As soon as their back up arrived, they joined them inside. The ambulance had arrived by no as well, rushing in to gather up the missing woman's husband. With this, Frank and Catherine stayed behind as they said they'd investigate that decently large farmhouse further at least to make sure there wasn't anything or anyone they were missing.

Antonio briefed the others on what was going on before he took to the exit. "Chauncey and I saw some kind of creature out in the fields so we need to stick together. No wandering off." He had taken out his flashlight, deciding it'd be smart to keep it on hand. The fields outback were dark and hard to see through due to the tall corn stalks. He was tense, he had dealt with killers and thieves, but he didn't think he'd actually ever seen anything like this. "Definitely aliens." He heard one of the rookies inquiring. He sounded nervous yet for some reason excited. Antonio didn't tell him that was nothing to be excited over... The look he gave the new guy was really enough and it quieted him down too.

Of course, the path through the corn was covered in a trail of goo. The smell wasn't too bad at the moment, but that was at the least of their worries.

The flurry of movement once the ambulance and other officers arrived always found a way to overwhelm him, he stood out in the den then, standing guard with one of the more seasoned of the division. Off away from the action and staring at the eerily still field of corn, it made his stomach ache as he thought about that thing they had saw. They stood only partly safe in the farmhouse, all the lights were on and they were just waiting now.

Next thing he knew, they were all outside, Frank and Catherine looking after the house, in the wide open farm the house felt almost like an unreachable base. Though being outside of it made every one of his senses kick into full gear, with danger possibly every few feet, he had resorted to keeping his mouth shut. Not wanting any thing to happen to any of them, he kept alert on the edge of the group, his flashlight beaming through the stalks and casting long shadows along his walking path.

It felt as if there wasn't only one trail, the goo dripped randomly, though in thick consistency, he gagged lightly and swallowed back vomit. Making sure to do his best not to step in it, he grimaced,"What is this shit?" He complained, looking up to see how much longer it seemed to go though from what he could tell, there was no end in sight.

The further in, the goo seemed to be more and more frequent. It wasn't thin little trails anymore, but large puddles and thick ropes of it, strewn all about. The corn was crushed in areas, creating a path as though something big had gone through it. "I just wanna know where it's coming from.." Antonio heard one of the rookies murmur. They all stepped around, having to step in it at times. A fine, filmy sheen had covered some of these trails that had been there longer, containing the smell it seemed, but stepping on those that were encased released the awful scent.

Finally they found themselves in a little clearing. Nearby, there was a lake, sparkling in the moonlight and a forest beside it. Nothing had attacked them yet, thank god.. But there was a cave nearby, hidden by the trees. From inside, Antonio swore he'd heard the screaming of a woman. The trails of slime were prominent, leading into the cave. "For fucks sake.. Why can't at least one of these weird incidents lead to something less creepy?" One of the rookies said. It was Tyson's partner and she didn't really take the whole idea of aliens as being intriguing as Tyson did.

"No use complaining.. Lets just get this over with and find that woman." Antonio forged on ahead, uncertain, but they couldn't just back out and leave that woman to whatever fate she had been drug to.

The cave was humid inside and the slime dripped from the ceiling further in. One could occasionally hear strange noises, but there was no telling what it was. Inhuman tones and screeches came from inside, sounding faintly like speech that they couldn't decipher. It was hard to hear though and Antonio found himself hoping it was some kind of animal or the wind.. But it really didn't sound like the wind. Maybe an animal could make such noises, but what kind of animal would that be and how would an animal learn to make their screeches sound like a foreign language?

Officer Chauncey glanced at the rookie and ended up stomping right into one of the puddles, grimacing at the sound it made and barely taking time to look down as they continued onward., "Maybe there's a slug overpopulation or something?" He scrapped his heel on the path while he walked, looking off over the lake when they arrived, his eyes brightened at the sight, "Slugs like water right?" He wasn't even sure, he was still searching for a logical reason for all of this though to no avail as the cave a few yards away echoed with screaming, "Or...not..."

Chauncey met Antonio's eyes with his own, "You can say that again." He replied, choking on the stench that permeated the air around them, while it drafted from the cave and drew attention to where they all knew they had to go next. The troupe stood there at the brush that sat at the mouth of the cave, most of them watching as Antonio went inside and Chauncey was the next one to follow behind him then the rookies after some urging from the older cops.

As they traveled further into the cave, the stench burned at his nostrils and he had to half cover his mouth and nose with his arm, gripping his flashlight in one hand and the grip of his gun with the other until they all heard the echoing sounds of chatter and he tilted the beam of light down. not wanting to call attention to the group. It would be best to remain undetected for now, he glanced back and beckoned them all to lower their lights as well and stay quiet,"There's something up ahead..."

Antonio could only wish it was a slug overpopulation... But he wasn't so sure that was the case. The smell in the cave was pretty bad and it was really getting to him the farther down they went. It was something like rotting eggs or meat left out in the sun to spoil. He wanted to cover his nose, but he was holding both his gun and a flashlight right now and he wasn't too keen on setting either down.

There were ominous noises ahead of them, and like Chauncey, Antontio chose to conceal the flashlight's beam. He heard Chauncey mention that there was something up ahead. Moving closer to the wall of the tunnel, he heard a kind of squelching noise ahead of them, coupled with clicking and chattering. It was almost as though something sticky was slithering through the tunnels. Ducking down and crouching to peek out around the corner, Antonio swore he saw something that looked like a giant slug type thing in the darkness. Granted from what he could have made out, it looked like it was wearing some type of protective gear. Another followed behind it, echoing the clicks after the other one finished. He didn't know was going on here and he wished he hadn't seen those. .. But maybe it was an overpopulation of slugs... Just not the kind they had probably all preferred to see.

At any rate, they had gone by and they had their chance to keep going. Of course, Antonio chose to take the third tunnel that nothing had come out of. While walking, a side of the tunnel was closed off by stalagmites and stalactites, but there were holes one could look through. Below in a large cavern, there were huge tunnels all around that had been burrowed out. The largest hole that had been hallowed out looked to be a pit of slime but there was a massive bug thing in there with these strange eggs all around it. He wasn't sure what to call it, but it wasn't really a slug he suppose. It made these deep resonating chirps and bellows that the entire colony down there probably understood. The creatures were all milling around doing their part and they all seemed to be built for specific jobs. Oddly enough, the place had quite a bit of technology, but it appeared to be foreign technology, something that wasn't terrestrial at least.... He had a feeling this was some kind of hive. "We need to find that lady and get the hell outta here already.." One of the other experienced cops mumbled this as he turned away from the scene, shaking his head. "This place is fucked."

Antonio could agree with that. "Look, down there!" Tyson whispered as he pointed down at the cavern below. Following his finger, sure enough, Antonio spotted one of the creatures that actually had legs carrying a woman. She was being taken to a tunnel to the right of where they were. She seemed to be just barely conscious, but she wasn't moving. She at least didn't look to be hurt, but considering the fact that they were way up here and couldn't really make out the fine details, she could very well be hurt. "But how the hell are we gonna get to that tunnel anyway I wonder?..." Tyson frowned as he pondered this. They would have to sneak through there if this tunnel led down into that cavern, but hopefully it didn't..

Chauncey made covering his nose work somehow with a bit of maneuvering of his arm, sweat collected on his forehead from how musty it was the deeper they ventured cautiously onward. He sank into cover against the nearest wall as well with Antonio behind him, his throat tightened in a cold fear that ran down his spine at the sight of the...monsters that crawled just right in front of them. As they passed the stench made his stomach contents churn, he thought he just might vomit though he knew it would draw attention to them.

Luckily enough for him, the moved somewhat fast on their path away from them, the screams grew louder as they ventured down the third hole. From the looks of the other tunnels they seemed to be not even halfway down, it gave him a sinking feeling in his gut that only solidified when be looked down into the pit of tunnels. He exhaled, shaking his head and sinking away from the space in the wall, only to have his view taken by some of the others in their search group. They needed the army for this, not some small town troupe of cops. "We need more backup." He shook his head, looking to Antonio,"We don't know what the hell this is, what if it's a death trap? I mean, just fucking look at that, what is that thing?"

His eyes traveled towards the others, though he kept his voice low of course, but that didn't hide the fear that obviously snowed on his face. Though even as Tyson simply pointed, he knew they weren't getting out of there any time soon. As he moved toward the gap once again to get a slight glimpse of a human body being carried into another dark tunnel. He wanted to save her, he did, but this all seemed a bit much. Chauncey stepped away once again and he shoved the thoughts out of his mind, taking a deep stinking breath and exhaling,"Let's keep going then."

Antonio had heard Chauncey of course. He couldn't agree more with that statement. This place was literally overrun so running down there themselves may not be such a good idea. Of course, much to his dismay, Tyson was already walking ahead of them. "We don't have time to call back up do we? Lets make this a quick job and just grab the lady and get out." Antonio sighed as he glanced at Chauncey. "I feel like Chauncey's got more of a point in this, but it's true we can't wait either. Who knows what they'll do to her." So looking at Tyson next, he nodded back to the front of the cave. "You and your partner go back. Call someone in." He would leave the more experienced cops like them and the others to go in here since Tyson and his partner could very well end up doing something wrong in this suicide mission.

"Don't get caught. Please." Antonio was pretty sure that was a given, but still. If they got caught, they could very well never get out of this hell hole.

He nodded when Chauncey said to keep going. Tyson and his partner had turned to go back the way they'd come in.

The humidity was rising the lower they went and the smell only intensified if that was even possible. A hazy green gas had settled over the area and the floor below began to get thicker with the green goop before. He cursed to himself the moment he stepped in it. The entire cave was covered in this shit and one could see large ovoid shapes resting in the gunk. They weren't at the main room, but it wasn't a far walk from here.. The only thing that would make it take longer were those.. Things patrolling the area , chattering in their strange language. Their large eyes glistened in the darkness as though there was a light source somewhere near here. He got the feeling these things at least had some form of intelligence. It was obvious by the strange contraptions that were set in neat rows in the main room ahead. There were ships and some corridors were constructed completely out of shiny metal rather than covered in this weird green goo and rock.

Antoine just had to hope these things didn't have a heightened sense of smell or something. They probably did but the ones that patrolled by them to ascend didn't seem to notice them. They just had to wait for a proper opening to get past though.

The plan sounded all too simple, get in get out, but this wasn't just some domestic dispute it was aliens, goddamn aliens and yet here they were running into the thick of it like idiots. Chauncey looked to his partner briefly as Tyson spoke and gave him a nod, they could do this,"Be careful and quick."He agreed with Anthony,"Get the man back to the station and call in the guard, we need more than just backup." He then gave the other a pat on his back, not letting his hand linger to feel too much like a goodbye, he trusted the rookies because he had to they had no other choice but to do so. Then looked to Anthony who would head down into the depths with him, he trusted his partner more than any of the others since he had known him since the academy but this situation was new to all of them.

"We'll get back soon. It's an in and out mission." He attempted to reassure both himself and the other as he holstered his gun again and gripped the flashlight,"Guns up, we don't want the caves coming down on us, or if this fucking gas is flammable either." He knew methane was flammable and whatever they were breathing in smelt deathly just like it so he would just be as careful as can be while traversing the slick caves, starting down the way with one last glance back at the others who went the opposite way.

The man groaned as the intense gasses hit him and leaned over with a dry retch,"Fuck... I don't think I can take much more of this."He complained, lifting his sleeve and covering his mouth as he shifted through the thick goop that was warm against his legs and even seemed to steam with unknown heat. Not known for a weak stomach, he felt almost as if he should have asked one of the others to take his place, though his looked to his friend and sighed as he knew he couldn't leave Anthony to explore alone. He kept his pace, trudging through the fat goop and almost falling over as he thought something had grabbed him, he went even faster than to get up onto solid ground which was one of those silver ship things.

It would take weeks possibly to get this smell out of their uniforms, he thought, though assumed he would just throw them out instead, the man took cover behind something like a box that sat on the metallic floor,"Do you see her?"He asked, the screaming had stopped though he knew that the woman was close by.
