Next week is the live-streaming event for Netflix Festival Japan 2021, on the second day, Wednesday, November 10th, upcoming live-action series from Japan will have more information released about them, including He’s Expecting!

Steps
1) Add the city Tokyo, Japan.
2) Change the date to November 10, 2021.
3) Change the time to 1500 hours (3:00 pm).

5) The date and time when the livestream will be airing the He’s Expecting segment should be shown under your location.

So, we did not get a release date, yet, and the series is still in post-production. We did learn however that the series will be 8-23 minute episodes.

One major change from the manga is that it has been 50 years since the first male pregnancies, not 10 like in the original. So men in the live-action series have been getting pregnant longer.

Takumi also seemed to implied that the special effects makeup artists made a prosthetic pregnant belly that accurately simulated the weight of a pregnant belly, which influenced his movement.

I like how they're going to focus more on the personal relationship between Kentaro and Aki. One thing that always bugged me about the manga is how quickly they rush through it. It never felt fulfilling with how they progress as people. The series will show Aki's parents and depict more of Kentaro's change in personality due to the pregnancy, which I think is important.

I find it funny that Takumi watched Junior as inspiration. Every time a foreign film or television production does a male pregnancy story, they always refer to that movie.

I also hope they adapt it into an anime at some point.

So, it appears that Netflix has begun dubbing He’s Expecting as an actor/voice actor was added on IMDb as “Aki’s friend”. I think the actor himself or someone from his team added him. This is good news as dubbing is the very last thing in production and Netflix dubs their original content one month before they air! So we should be getting the release date very soon, it may be within a week.

Also, after looking into it I can confirm (via his Instagram) that the voice actor started dubbing his lines 5 days ago. He doesn’t mention He’s Expecting in his post (cause of NDA), but with him being added on IMDb and He’s Expecting releasing sometime in March, it can be assumed that he is voicing for that series.

We’re getting closer guys! I’ll be on the lookout for other voice actor for He’s Expecting, more should be popping up soon!

BTW, I’m making a educated guess that the release date will be either March 17-18, based on Netflix Japan’s release history with its other shows and films.
