Athon, shook his head and groaned loadly. Horus had sqeezed his hand with the badly relocated finger. Athon looked back at Horus. He had changed his clothes and looked so tired, he had dark circles under his eyes. It puzzled Athon, but he paid no mind to it as there was a knock at the door.
Another tall elf man entered the room. He was smiling ear to pointy ear. He had long black hair with a few silvers. He came up and patted Horus on the back. "Hello Horus my lad, I'm going to examine the other young one now." He went to work fast. He pulled out a vial with purple powder. He began to apply the powder to Athon's black eye. "This will make that bad color go away, in a few seconds. Don't touch it. It's just dried pollen from a special plant in Horus' garden." He pulled back the covers, and touched along his ribs finding the broken rib. "Ah there it is. You have 7 fractured ribs, and that broken one. I'm going to use a special devise to straighten it and use magic to get it to set properly. It will hurt but soon you will feel better." He reached into his bag and pulled out something that looked like plyers. He clipped it around the bone and gripped the handle hard. Athon let out a grunt as he grit his teeth. The docter used the magic he promised setting the bone, and healing the fractures completely. With that there wasn't anymore pain. Athon sighed resting back into the bed, feeling emensly better. The doctor removed the plyers and threw them into the bag. He went to his feet and checked his legs. Only bruises. He applied more of the purple powder.
He went to Athon's hips. "Good.... Very good choice Horus. His hips are perfect." Athon didn't care what he was talking about. He ran his fingers along Athon's belly. He pressed here and there. "No internal bleeding to worry about. That's good, and I think it has settled well in his stomach, too." The doctor gave Horus a knowing glance and a smile.
The doctor went back to work and checked Athon's arms and found Horus still holding onto one of them. The doctor patted his hand and he let it go. He picked up Athon's hand and saw the swollen finger. He didn't warn Athon this time. He just popped it out of place, then put it back popping it in the right location, making horrible noises as he did. "There, all done!" he wrapped his hand with a bandage. "Leave the bandage on as long as you can, maybe a week. You're young and strong so it will be okay. Now you need to eat." Athon shook his head. "You will, and that is an order from your doctor. You don't want anything bad to happen to your special cargo."
Athon again felt puzzled by what he was saying. He didn't have anything of value that could spoil. "Thank you doctor."
The doctor smiled and wiped off his once black eye. All that was left was a pink smudge under the once damaged lid. "You're welcome."
