Reed eyed the other wolf at the subtle shift in demeanor after mentioning his brother, deciding not to pry at something that was clearly not the business of a stranger. The Omega was right, no matter how docile Snowfall seemed to be about the situation there was a fine line between knowing what was right and instinct. Specifically when it came to their kind.
Trying his best to offer a toothy smile, Reed tried bringing a bit of positivity to their current conversation. "True, but if you've proven yourself once I have no doubt you'll be able to hold your position." Golden eyes shifted across the clearing, taking in the shapes of the other pack members. "They respect you," he added, nodding his head in their direction. "Even for a newcomer like myself it's obvious."
For a moment, Reed wasn't quite sure what to say. Back where he'd come from, they lived mostly in ice tunnels or caves they'd stolen from bears. The cabin was rather intimidating if he was being honest, never having seen a structure like that except for passing by human lands. After a moment, he'd noticed he'd stopped walking and rubbed the short hair at the back of his neck nervously as he tilted his head and chuckled. "Well that's not what I was expecting," he finally admitted.

“By what right does the wolf judge the lion?"
