It took a few months to be sure that Leo had become pregnant, though Garrett could tell right after a couple of weeks of staying together within the same house. He could smell it, like fruit or just more of his own scent slowly growing on the human. The bat was excited and he didn't attempt to hide it, he stayed close beside Leo and kept food or necessities around even if he didn't need it at the time. Though today he hadn't heard the human's car at the usual time, but he didn't worry, sometimes he worked late and sometimes he had other things to do besides come straight home. Leo's told him that, though when the next morning came and he was still alone in the big house, he began to worry.
