Talking with Gloria was definitely helping distract James from the pain, and he only nodded in response to her question. "Yeah... I've been alone for eight months now.", he said bitterly, which made it obvious that the father must have left as soon as James found out he was pregnant. "What about you?", he sighed, trying to relax a little.
"I've been having contractions all morning. Birth can be a slow process, you know. Thankfully my water hasn't broken, so I don't think they're /too/ close. If my water breaks, then I'll know they're on their way..", he explained uneasily, suddenly feeling a small twinge of anxiety. "Maybe, my doctor did tell me stress is bad for the baby..", he bit his lip, glancing down at his belly. "But judging by how active they are, I think they're ready to come out. My due date was actually about five days ago; I should have given birth in the seventh."
