Nolan quickly fell asleep snuggling into the pillow and pregnancy pillow he received from Thomas as a gift.
It was around midnight when he felt an uncomfortable sensation in his lower abdomen. He sat quietly on the mattress and tried to calm his rapidly beating heart.

Thomas woke up randomly in the night, dying for a drink. As he sat up he noticed that Nolan was also awake, “babe, are you okay?”

Nolan sat with his back to him, stroking his belly lightly.
"I have pains," he whispered and sighed quietly, feeling his muscles tense, "Ah, very strong pains."

Thomas watched as Nolan’s stomach contracted, it squeezed in so tightly that he felt a bit horrified. “Oh my god”, he panicked, “do we need to go to the hospital? Is it coming out now? Open your legs quick, let me see”.

Nolan jabbed him lightly on the shoulder catching himself harder in the belly. He gasped in pain. He crushed Thomas' hand slightly, which he caught.
"And what are you going to do? Are you a doctor?" he asked nervously and felt his stomach churn finally "We're going to the hospital" he said breathing deeply "And please wake up my parents."

Thomas’s eyes widened, “well no, I’m not but surely I’d be able to see if the baby was coming out”, he said, “anyways let me go find them”. He left the room and went and knocked on Nolan’s parents door. He explained the situation and Nolan’s mother came back with him to see.

“Are you okay honey?”, she asked, kneeling next to the bed, to look at her son.

Nolan looked at his mother and denied it with his head. He quickly grabbed Thomas' hand again.
"I think I'm in labor..." he whispered and closed his eyes feeling pain "Please let's go to the hospital" he begged feeling really bad

Nolan’s mother sighed and rubbed his back, “how far apart are the contractions darling?”, she asked, “I’m guessing your water hasn’t broken yet?”

Thomas sat on the bed next to Nolan, holding his hand. He felt awful for his lover and wished that pregnancy didn’t have to be so difficult.

"I've been in pain for ten minutes..." He sighed and gasped quietly squeezing Thomas' hand "No.... I touched myself there and it's dry," he replied when the pain passed and began to take deep breaths.

He looked at Thomas and rested his head against his shoulder.

“You have to wait until the contractions are 5 minutes apart”, his mother advised, “that could take hours darling, try going back to sleep for a bit”. She stood up and gave Nolan a kiss on the forehead before returning to her room.

“I’m sure it won’t take too long”, Thomas said, stroking Nolan’s back.

Nolan slapped him lightly on the shoulder.
"It's your penis' fault..." he muttered angrily, and then sighed feeling the pain in his back. He began to breathe deeply. "You'll take responsibility for this, Thomas," he wheezed and grabbed his hand harder "Oh..."

Thomas winced but tried to not show it, not wanting to make him more mad, “I’m sorry babe”, he said. He tried to massage Nolan’s back, not sure if it was helping or not.

Nolan moaned quietly feeling Thomas' light massage.
"I'm scared..." he muttered as he breathed between pains and touched his belly with uncertainty "What if I'm not fit to be a mother?" he asked him seriously with concern, stroking his belly

“If you’re not fit to be a mother then we’ll make you fit”, Thomas promised, “that fact that you’re worrying about being a good mother shows that you will be”.

Nolan pulled his nose slightly and laid his head on his partner's shoulder.
"See how my thighs are trembling" he put Thomas' hand on his body "I don't know what I'm doing.... I want it to be whole and healthy" he explained quietly "I'm worried, Thomas..." he groaned quietly and began to breathe very deeply

Thomas kept his hand on Nolan’s thigh and began to stroke it, “well as soon as your contractions are 5 minutes apart then we can go to the hospital and they’ll look after you”. He thought for a second, “walking and swaying might speed it up”, he suggested.

Nolan nodded, and immediately made a horrified face when he stood up with him.
"But do I want to speed this up?" he wondered aloud, and then snuggled up to Thomas, swaying his hips subtly. He held on to his partner's nightshirt and breathed deeply while moaning slightly. "Ahhh..."

Thomas swayed with him, holding into him tightly, scared he might fall. “You’re doing so good”, he praised.

Nolan tucked his head into his chest.
"Thank you," he muttered a little embarrassed. Suddenly, a flash appeared next to him. Nolan's mother was holding an Instax in her hand.
"I'm sorry, but you look lovely now.... I wanted to capture it so there would be something to remember."

Laughing, Thomas shook his head, “I bet my mum will be seeing this”, he muttered. He watched as Nolan’s mother looked at the photo, “show me”.
