The woman showed him the photo, and Nolan also turned his head. For a moment, he forgot about the pain.
"Do I look that fat?"

“I love it”, Thomas said, “you must give me a copy of that”. He heard what Nolan said and frowned at him, “don’t say that, you’re not fat, you’re pregnant”.

Nolan wrinkled his nose adorably.
"You're lucky you responded that way," he whispered "I was testing your reaction," he added and they began to sway again

Thomas laughed, “I’m glad you’ve still got your humour”, he said, swaying with him. He put one of his hands on Nolan’s bump, “wow you’re so warm”.

"Because I'm warmed by a hot guy," he laughed quietly and sighed as he felt Thomas stroking his belly.

Thomas continued stroking Nolan’s belly for a while, assuming he liked it from his reaction. “Do you think you want to try and sleep? It’s 2am still”, he murmured, his voice broke the silence in the the dark room.

Nolan was silent for a moment, and then looked up catching his gaze.
"And you won't leave me even for a moment?" he asked quietly, humming under his breath

“No, I won’t leave your side”, Thomas promised, “well not unless you want me to”. He held onto Nolan’s hand and walked them over to the bed.

Nolan sat up slowly, and then, with the help of his partner, lay down on his back.
"I don't want you to leave.... You belong to me."

Thomas got into the bed beside Nolan, “then I won’t leave”, he said, shuffling around to try and get comfy. Once he was comfy enough, he held onto Nolan’s hand and began to doze off.

At around 5 a.m., Nolan sat on Thomas's lap doing breathing exercises. The pains intensified and lasted longer. They tried to ease the discomfort as much as possible.
"Ah... Uh," Nolan held his partner's shoulders

“That’s it, innn and out”, Thomas coached, trying to help Nolan. They only had about an an hour and a half of sleep but Nolan kept moving around so they kept waking up. “Do you want to get in the shower? It might help with the pain”, Thomas offered.

Nolan took deep breaths in and out.
"I... I want to go to the hospital" he replied seriously "I'm definitely in the delivery stage, they have to admit me" he sighed feeling a slight pain "Especially since my parents have bought me a room".

“Okay, do you want me to get your parents?”, he asked, standing up. Thomas grabbed the hospital bags that had been finished earlier,

Nolan nodded and stroked his back lightly as he balked at the mattress with his hips to ease the pressure.
"Yes... Please," he whispered and took a deep breath.

Thomas nodded, to show that he had hear what Nolan had said and walked out of the room. He returned with both of Nolan’s parents this time who had clearly rushed to get ready. They had messy hair and were wearing the clothes they would usually wear to lounge around the house.

Thomas grabbed the hospital bags as Nolan’s parents helped support their son as they made their way to the car.

With the help of his parents, Nolan sat in the front next to Thomas, who would drive the car.
"Have you called my midwife?" he asked, breathing heavily as the pain increased. He gently clasped his legs together, widening his thighs to make him more comfortable. He stroked his abdomen. Spots appeared at the site of his nipples. He lactated instinctively.

“Uh no, I haven’t”, Thomas said pulling out his phone. He unlocked it while driving and handed it over to Nolan, “can you do it? I can’t while driving”, he asked. Thomas put his has hand on Nolan’s bump, rubbing it everytime he had a contraction.

Nolan grabbed the phone and dialed the number of his midwife with trembling hands. He grabbed Thomas's hand, also stroking his belly.
"Hello, this is Nolan.... I'm sorry to call at this hour, but the baby is pushing into the world," he replied quietly and took a breath "We are on our way to the hospital."

“Okay, I’ll meet you guys at the hospital”, The midwife replied, “message me your room number if you get there first”.

After about 10 more minutes, they arrived at the hospital and pulled into the car park. He hopped out of the car and rushed around to help Nolan out.
