After two months of being a mother, Achteron had fallen in love with his calf. Minotaurs grew quickly, and his child was already the size of a human four year old. He still couldn't talk yet, but his motor skills were developing nicely. The child still enjoyed from his mother, though.

Achteron also didn't know how he fit in with the tribe. He couldn't go back to civilization, what with his child and all. He was also pretty sure he was claimed as Risto's mate. But the other minotaurs were still wary and sometimes cruel to him. The nicest ones were the other young mothers- they got along quite well and bonded through the mutual childrearing.

So that was where he found himself, watching his child play with the other calves as he chatted with some females in the grass.

"You know, Risto seems to like you." One of the mothers, Genevieve, said teasingly as she cradled one of her calves.

Risto on the other hand was busy with fixing problems in the tribe.

(Risto will let other males "use" Achteron, but Risto is the only one allowed to impregnate him.)

Achteron didn't answer right away, instead staring at the calves in the grass. "Well... who knows..." he said softly.

The other mother minotaurs smiled and laughed, "Oh Achteron, you should have seen him while you were birthing your son, his face turned very conflicting, half his mind wants to help. The other...not so much." One of them said as she still laughed, finding their chief amusing.

Achteron's lips pursed. "It was his child. Why did he not?" he asked.

"Our custom was that the mothers birth alone." One of them explained patiently.

"So why did everyone have to watch me?" Achteron retorted, his nostrils flaring a bit as he remembered the pain and humiliation.

"You're the chief's mate." Another mother replied, "And besides, Risto had us stay in case something should happen to you or the child."

"Hmm. I guess," Achteron said, trailing off. He wondered what his "mate" was up to.

Risto, having just finished attending to his villagers' needs decided to attend to his family. And so, he walked off to where the scent of Achteron and his child was.
