"Thank you," Scott murmured, truly grateful to Lance that he had a safe place for his fledgling's first few days of life.

"If you need anything just let me know. I will figure it out. Goodnight now." Lance smiled and went down. He wasnt very sure what angels need, but he hoped he would be able to rpovide for them for these few days.

"Goodnight," Scott called, and settled with Riley to sleep. He didn't need very much, truly, just rest after the birth of his fledgling.

The next morning, as expected, Lance was awoke way earlier than usual. The couch was small and uncomfortable, he popped his arms and stretched his back to ease some of the dull ache. He couldnt hear any movements from upstaira but guessed Scott could be awake.

Scott had awoken a short amount of time before Lance, though stayed curled up in his nest and admired Riley. He looked to the doorway when he heard small groans from downstairs and the sound of joints popping.

He made breakfast, considered offering to his guests but remembered him not needing any the previous day. He thought for a bit and got a cup of water, again heditated when he was about to knock on the door.

"Come in," Scott spoke softly, feeling Lance's presence at the door.

"Hi... morning I mean. Erm.. I dont think you need food so I got you soem water. Hows riley?"

"He's good," Scott smiled, sitting up and drinking the water (though he didn't need it, but he tried to be courteous) with Riley laying in his other arm, asleep against his father's chest.

"Ok that's good. I.. i will go down to do my... stuff now." Lance scratched his head and said.

"Go ahead. I don't want to intrude on anything," Scott replied, rubbing Riley's tiny back. Once Lance left the house to look for firewood, Scott walked around the cabin, rocking Riley and exuding safety for his fledgling.

It was a strange feeling seeing Scott with the baby around in the cabin when Lance returned. He came here to have some alone t,ime, but the presence of them was a very pleasant addition.for a split moment it even felt like a family waiting on him, but he brushed the idea off quickly.

Scott slowly rocked the infant in his arms, swaying gently as the baby boy dozed contently. Scott looked up at Lance when he entered, smiling at him softly. "Good afternoon. How are you?"

"Good... good. Got a good sweat out there getting the firewoods and all. I may go out to hunt tomorrow, it's highly likely that the snow would stop soon." He got the things in and asked "so how are you? I see you two have explored the cabin?" He smiled at the pair.

"We have. Riley was becoming a bit restless, so I thought moving around would help him. He's much better now," Scott replied, looking at the baby with pure love in his eyes, pressing a kiss to his fluffy hair.

"Can I hold him? Well like after a shower." Lance asked hopefully.

"You can if you'd like to, yes," Scott nodded, knowing how fascinated Lance was with him and his child, whether it be romance or curiosity.

"I will quickly do that, just a minute." Lance got to the bathroom fast. He was excited to be given the chance.
