Sonic paces anxiously around the cave, stopping to catch his breath every time another pain hit as they grew stronger and closer together. The heavily pregnant hedgehog lets out a yelp and nearly doubles over in pain "T-Tiff!"

Tiff heard the blue hedgehog cry out her name and she looked around finally making eyes with Sonic. She immediately ran towards him and she placed her hands on his back saying to the blue hedgehog, "I'm here, Sonic! Don't worry, darling. Tiff is here. Let's get you on your back comfortably on my sleeping mat."

"I-I don't think I'll be able t-to hold out until morning...something feels different, it hurts...ngh...r-really bad now..." Sonic groans as Tiff helps him lay down.

“Yeah, morning is out of the question. Ok, I think I know how to do…” She said to herself soflty and she thought for a moment.

“Yeah, I know how to do this. Ok, I’m going to check. Is that ok with you, darling?” Tiff asked the blue hedgehog not wanting to make him uncomfortable.

Tiff checked on his dilation and she quickly shot up, “Halfway there.”

"Only...ngh...only halfway?" He whines, frustrated and exhausted from the day's events and wanting nothing more than to be safe and sound at home with his love.

“I’m sorry, Sonic. The wait is going to be a while.” Tiff said back to Sonic happily and she sat beside him holding his hand tightly.

Tiff looked at the blue hedgehog and she said back to him, "Yeah, that's it Sonic. Squeeze it as hard as you can."

"D-Don't want...to hurt your hand..." The pained hedgehog grunts out through clenched teeth, his grip tightening slightly.

"You won't hurt my hand, darling. My arm is made of steel. You won't hurt me at all." Tiff said back to the blue hedgehog happily and she used her other hand to stroke his quills as comfort to Sonic.

Sonic cries out in pain and tightly squeezes Tiff's hand as he tries to curl up into a ball, his quills standing on end in response to his stress and the pain he was in.

"It's okay, darling. It will be all over soon." Tiff said back to the blue hedgehog and she started to stroke his back as comfort.

"Wh-What if I can't do it...? I don't...want anything to happen to my babies..." The blue hedgehog whimpers, his thoughts racing frantically as he leans into his friend's touch for comfort. Sonic's normally brave and cheerful facade was breaking down, leaving him feeling vulnerable and helpless to have any control of his situation.

"Sonic, shh darling. You can do this. You have endured worse things than this. I mean you have conquer everything in the book so far and I'll be here for you." Tiff said back to the hedgehog comfortably, she caressed the side of his face and she gave him a reassuring smile. "Now, come here and give me a hug. I won't let you go. Never."

The laboring hedgehog whimpers and bites back a sob as he hugs Tiff as close as he could with his belly in the way "Th-Thank you for staying here with me...I don't think I could do this alone..." He tells her, his voice trembling slightly as tears start rolling down his face.

Tiff smiled at him happily and she awed as she hugged the blue hedgehog back, "My pleasure, darling. I would never allow you to do this alone. Let me see if I can get my watch to work this time. So we can tell your special somebody that you're about to be two wonderful parents." She pulled the blanket up to the both of them, she continued to keep Sonic close and she turned her watch back on.
