It's been-"He stopped himself as he pulled himself upright carefully, leaning against the couch's armrest with a small grimace,"It's been almost two years, Dad."James jr looked up at the older wolf, when he held out the phone now and took it from him, thinking about it for a moment until he pressed dial.
Almost an entire country away, Tobias was struggling with labor pains, propped up on his side in bed with all the pillows the kids could find. The wolf who had taken the place of James wasn't there, nor was the midwife he had an affair with, the only people he could count on was his own offspring. And even they didn't know what to do for him, but they did answer the phone, it was Sam,"Hello? Dad?"

James could hear when the phone was picked up on the other end, holding his breath for a moment or two despite himself. When he heard Sam's voice on the other end he could help but release the breath he had been holding. At least they were okay, but then where was Tobias?

"No. It's Jay."James jr responded simply, his hand resting on his middle as he tilted his head back slightly, almost reading his father's mind,"Where's Pop?"He asked and the line went silent for a while, his brows furrowed and he sat up a bit more before groaning with another contraction. "Jay, you okay?"Sam asked quickly when the line came back up, his brother didn't respond and simply took in a deep breath with a quick nod,"Yeah. I'm fine... Pop?"He asked again and his younger brother sounded nervous as there was a shuffling,"Not good."He replied finally, James jr was confused,"Not good? What do you mean?"

James keeps himself from speaking, just waiting and listening to the conversation. At Sam's words his own brows furrowed slightly though he still said nothing.

"Something's wrong."Sam shrugged lightly and went towards the bed where their birth father laid,"I-I dunno. None of us knows what's wrong."He sat beside Tobias and placed his hand on his arm,"Pop."He murmured and the human opened his eyes slightly before groaning as his eyes shut once again,"We think it's the babies... They aren't coming... It's almost been an entire two days."He said and James jr looked worried as he moved to sit forwards more.

James looks at James Jr for a moment or two before holding his hand out for the phone. Once he got it he placed it to his ear. "Put your father on the phone."

James jr let him take the phone, distracted by the conversation from his own labor as he kept both hands resting on his middle. While looking up at his father, hearing the small shuffle on the line, them calling gently for their birth father to wake him up. "Pop... Pop, it's Dad."This time it was one of the other children, still young and afraid for their father as he parted his eyes again after a moment. It took him a long few seconds to swallow down the dryness in his throat then open his hand for the phone, turning onto his back again carefully with a grimace. This time, he simply held the phone near his ear in his limp hand and panting softly, not saying anything to him, not knowing what to say.

"Is what they're saying true?" It was a few seconds before James spoke, simply listening to Tobias' labored breathing on the other end and the pups shuffling around the room, now all probably standing by the bed, listening and waiting.

"What have they said?"He asked in reply, his voice barely a rasp as he was pulled up carefully by one of his son's, who had grown as big and strong as their father. It made him proud for a moment and he zoned out for another second before groaning, bringing his knees up to his chest and sitting forwards with a small cry of agony. He was so weak he could barely show his excruciating discomfort any more, it was horrible and he just wanted it to end.

"That you've been in labor for two days, that nothing is happening." He visibly cringes at the sound of pain Tobias makes, his hand going to rest on James Jr's knee as he squeezes it softly, just to keep both himself and the pup in reality.

Tobias said nothing as he collapsed back onto the pillows of his bed, brows furrowed and teeth clinching with a quiet groan, turning onto his side again with his free hand supporting his over sized belly,"Yes... It's been days..."He nodded, pressing his face into the pillow and panting heavily.
James jr moved to turn and place his feet on the ground below,"We have to go. Go back home."He tried pushing himself up to no avail, groaning himself as he sat back again,"Fuck-!"He pressed his knuckle into his mouth, toes curling with a small grunt and shaking his head quickly, he wasn't going anywhere soon.

"I'll be home soon." Not long after that James ends the call, slipping the phone back into his pocket before he disappeared. He came back down a few minutes later with Luke's diaper bag and a duffle bag of other things. He goes to pick Luke up before carrying him out to the truck and coming back a minute or two later to get James Jr.

The human had no time to reply and one of the kids took the phone from him, it wasn't easy for James to come back to get Jr, since it was then when Warren decided to come back and make it tough on them or his mate's father at least,"What are you doing in my house?"He stumbled out of the rusty truck and slammed the drivers door shut behind him, kicking a beer can off into the trash,"Babe, where are you going?"Warren came over to them as James came out with James jr in his arms,"What about-"He glanced to his lover's car where Luke was sitting inside,"What the hell's going on?"

"I'm taking my son and grandson and we're leaving, what does it look like?" James gave him no time to argue as he pushed him aside and make his way to the car before sliding James Jr into the passenger side. He had laid the seat back as far as it would go and had brung out some pillows and sheets to make the seat softer and protect against any leaks.

Why?"Warren came forwards as he stood beside the truck now,"Jay, what the hell."He reached out for him, the younger wolf opened his eyes and sat up a bit,"We'll be back."James jr said simply,"It's my Dad, something's wrong. It's a family thing-"He tried and is mate looked disappointed,"I'm family too! What about the kids?"He looked worried now, despite his drunken state and James jr sighed as he leaned up to kiss him through the open window then sit back again,"We'll be fine. It'll only take a few days."He didn't know how wrong he was, as he smiled at him, letting his father put sheets and pillows beneath him then sitting back again with a slight grimace, buckling up and gripping the belt tightly as he waited to pull off. Warren didn't know what to say, or how to stop him as he simply watched as they left.

James wasn't sure how long it took to reach the house. He took the car as fast as he could while still being considered safe. Occasionally his hand would lay on the console, allowing James Jr to hold onto it if he needed. Luke sat in the back seat, simply watching the different colors pass by the windows as they drove.

"Dad."He gripped his father's forearm suddenly when he felt something change, a shift inside of him that screamed 'push',"Nhh... Shit... Shit..."He panted as he pushed himself up slightly more in his seat, he had unbuckled a state before and now sat on one thigh. "They're coming."He gasped softly, tilting his head back and groaning loudly as he reached to grip the door handle tightly,"Mnnh..."The young wolf pushed now, placing his foot squarely against the dashboard with a cry of pain, gritting his teeth.

James says nothing, just continues driving as he lets the pup work through the labor. Luke turned to his father, watching him, his lip quivering slightly at the sounds his father was making.

James jr collapsed back against the seat after the contraction, panting heavily afterwards and moving to turn himself over onto his knees. With his face resting on the shoulder of the seat and arms wrapped around the bulk of it, the robe he still wore covered his nudity. He shifted in discomfort, pressing his face into the leather more firmly when his body tensed up, arching his back and moaning out as he began pushing again. It didn't take long for the pushing to get the child crowning, after the second contraction he gasped in deep breaths,"Don't let them fall, Dad..."He grunted out, thighs flexing as he tilted his ass down and began pushing again with a long, breathless moan.

James Jr didn't notice when James pulled over on a secluded area of the road. "I won't, you're doing fine." James glances back at Luke before handing him a toy to occupy him for the moment.
