Terrri smiled and nodded at Jacob. "Yes, of course. Come on l will lay down with you after I check on our children." He kissed Jacob and picked him up. "That's enough bonding for now. He's tired and wants to lay down. You can see your son again later". He pushed Quetzalcoatl's hand off of Jacob's belly and carried him out of the library to their room. He laid Jacob down on the bed and massaged his belly and kissed him. After he checked on their children who were sleeping peacefully in their cribs next to the bed. He started to softly sing for Jacob to help him sleep and relax while massaging his belly both of his hands. He cuddled him close to his chest and kissed his lips.

"I wish you could take it out of me..." Jacob murmured while his fingers gently traced the mark Quetzalcoatl had left on his side, making it impossible for Tecciztechatl to do anything about it. His eyelids became heavy as the moon god continued singing. The song was haunting and sweet, making Jacob think of faraway places like moonlit gardens with purple and silvery flowers. He imagined giant white moths, gentle as could be, flying lazily through the starry sky. He imagined crystal waters cascading over rocks into a pool where he could swim and teach his children to splash in the shallow ends. Jacob wondered if such a place could ever be real. Maybe the moon was like that. Maybe that's where Tecciztechatl was from. But before he could ask, Jacob had fallen asleep in the rabbit's arms.

Terri sighed and continued to sing for Jacob. He hated seeing his lover like this. But at least it was almost over and his brother's child would be born. He whispered softly. "I know my love, I wish I could as well". As soon as the snakeling was born. The mark would disappear as well. He stroked his belly and continued his soft singing to help his lover sleep peacefully. He looked up and heard Quetzalcoatl spying on them outside their door. He could sense his brother's loneliness and a bit of envy of him having a mate while he didn't have anyone. He kissed Jacob's forehead as he remained in a deep sleep. He sighed and looked at the doorway. "Quetzalcoatl, I know you are spying on us. Come on in here and be quiet while you do it. I don't need you waking him or our children up."

Quetzalcoatl flinched, but he came into the room regardless. He made sure to open and close the door quietly as he did. He stood there, back against the door and eyes fixed on the floor. "You cater to him so much. It's strange. Don't you miss the days when the humans waited on us hand and foot?"

"No not at all. In fact I am almost glad to be have forgotten. It was nice in the beginning. But soon it became lonely and boring. They didn't love us for ourselves. They only did it because we did things for them and at times feared us for our power. But with Jacob it's different. He loves me for who I am and doesn't feel he has to worship me. I love him in return. I do these things for him to make him happy and in return in makes me happy to have someone to fall asleep with and wake up with every morning. Now we even have children to raise together. You couldn't do that with a whore or worshiper. They would fall over themselves and suck up with false affection in hopes to get something from you. Do you understand now?". He looked up at Quetzalcoatl and smiled softly as Jacob smiled in his sleep and cuddled closer to his chest. "You know the reason they stopped worshiping me first?. It's because I didn't want to marry the daughter of a village elder. They said she was a pure virgin. But she smelled of the men in her village." He chuckled softly at the memory. "I know you miss the old days. But now it's a new time and age. Please give Jacob's friend a chance. I am sure you will love him and he will love you in return. Just think about how you can dress him in your colors and allow him to stroke your scales."

"I'm not interested in love," Quetzalcoatl grumbled, even though he blushed at the idea of having someone to polish his scales and admire his many great white feathers. "I liked the worshipers. I liked that they feared me and revered my power. All I had to do was raise the sun every morning and drive away the cold every spring. My winds could blow away their entire crops, but they did whatever I wanted to make sure that didn't happen. This friend you keep talking about might be amusing for a while, but I just don't think one human is going to be enough, brother."

Terri chuckled at him and gave him a knowingly look. "I think deep down inside you would love to have a warm body next to every night and morning. While he is carrying your child in his belly. Someone who will never forget about you or leave you behind. Humans don't believe in us anymore. They don't fear as us as they once did. Did I forget to remind you he is single and looking for a strong man to love him back. That is why I love Jacob so much. He is always by my side and it does feel good to have someone scratch my ears for me. Love is like having a worshiper. But one that would never leave you behind or forget about you".

Quetzalcoatl folded his arms over his chest, still trying to look stern on the subject. "And what will you do when that boy turns too old and frail to attend to you anymore, hm? You'll have spent all that time and energy loving him and for what? Just so he can die one day? It's just the same as them leaving us, big brother, or did you forget about that in all your blissful ignorance?"

Terri smiled softly as he understood why his brother fought against the belief in love. "Actually, this symbol tattooed on his chest is my mark bonding our lives and souls together. Since I am immortal and will never age or die. Neither will Jacob. He will be able to always remain at my side forever. He brushed the sliver and gold crescent moon and star on Jacob's ab. "I think I understand why you are so scared about loving another little brother. Yes, it's true mortals have shorter life spans than us. That's why we have chosen our mates as humans. Once they agreed to become our mates. Our souls and lives are bound together. We can sense their happiness and sadness. As well their thoughts and feelings."

Quetzalcoatl looked at the moon and star imprinted on the human's chest. He could sense his brother's life force flowing into it, guiding Jacob's heart to beat simultaneously with the god's heart. They really were bonded at the soul. Quetzalcoatl watched as his son shifted in Jacob's belly, pushing rudely against the boy's insides. Jacob winced in his sleep tensing slightly. At the same time, Quetzalcoatl saw his brother wince ever so slightly as both their hearts picked up speed before slowing down again. "The bond you made... You can feel his physical pain too, can't you?"
Reply

He smiled and nodded at his brother. "Yes, it was worth it. I also feel his physical pleasure as well. As well as his happiness, love, sadness, anger and fears." He smiled and stroked Jacob's belly to help settle the child down and started to softly sing to help sooth it. "If anything ever happened to him I don't know what I would do". He smiled and kissed Jacob's forehead softly as he hummed a lullaby from their childhood.

Quetzalcoatl watched this for a while longer before he got bored of it. He wandered to the three cribs, looking down at the sleeping infants. Each had a pair of ears and a little cotton tail that twitched while the babes dreamed. Each of their faces was a mix of the human and the god, though some feature were more distinct than others. Quetzalcoatl hoped there wasn't much trace of human in his son. He wanted a spitting image of himself that he could admire and be proud of. "Will you ever take them back to the moon with you?" the wind god asked idly.

"When they are old enough. I want them to see my temple on the moon along with my mate." He stroked Jacob's hair. "By the way you son is going to most likely your features and a fair amount of human features in him. When you are going to find a mate of your own?. One that you can dress up and take your temple to show off?".
Reply

Quetzalcoatl flinched and growled softly. "Don't say that. My son isn't going to look anything like your Jacob. If there is any justice left for me, then my son will not feature a single human trait." He exhaled slowly before looking at Tecciztechatl over his shoulder. "Stop asking me that. I'll do it whenever I damn well feel like it, all right? The more you ask, brother, the less inclined I feel to do much of anything you want me to do."
Reply

Terri smirked at him. "I know you want a mate. You are lonely. I can tell, ever since that time at the temple when you ran away. I could smell your tears and could sense the sadness and loneliness in your heart. As I can still now, why else would be you lurking outside our bedroom door. You're son is going to have human features because he is growing inside a human's womb and will be born from a human's womb. You know it and I know it. I am only trying to help you little brother. I don't want to see you fade away after your son is of age to leave your side and seek out a mate."

"He won't!" Quetzalcoatl growled again. "My son wouldn't do that! He won't leave me! Never!" Jacob groaned as the serpent in his belly suddenly began jerking around. His belly wobbled and bulged from the frantic movements. Obviously the babe could sense how upset its father was and wasn't at all pleased. "See what you've done," Quetzalcoatl hissed and pointed. "My son is stressed by your accusations."

Terri gripped his chest as his heart beat increased from the pain. He grounded his teeth as he took Jacob's pain into his own body. "Calm down you idiot! He's in a panic and hurting Jacob because you won't get your head out of your ass and get over yourself!. He's always like this and it hurts Jacob and me as well. So you know something, do whatever the hell you want! After your son is born I don't want to see you or hear you again!. And you wondered why your worshipers and the other gods forgot about you! They got tired of pampering and looking up to a spoiled, egotist, selfish pig headed, empty headed, vain brat. Who only cares about himself. And doesn't ever care about anyone else. I doubt you even care or love your unborn son. You just want a copy of yourself to inflate your swollen big ego!". He growled at Quetzalcoatl and stopped as he noticed his little brothers shocked look on his face mixed with pain and sadness with tears welling up in his eyes. He quietly whispered. "Quetzalcoatl....."
Reply

Quetzalcoatl shook his head. "You... Don't you dare say who love and don't love. Don't you dare. I love my son because he's going to be there when no one else will. I thought I could love you too, Tecciztechatl, but if you truly want nothing to do with me, then I guess I won't try anymore. All I asked was for you to let me move at my own pace, but you just keep pushing me. So... So fine. You won't see me anymore. I'll stay out of your way until my son is born and then I'll leave. Forever." He hurried from the room, trying to scrub the tears from his eyes so Tecciztechatl wouldn't see.

Tecciztechatl sighed and looked at Jacob's belly. He got up and ran after his little brother. "Quetazalcoatl! Please come back here. I am sorry. Please don't cry, I was only stressed and in pain." He knocked on his door and tried to open it. Only to find it locked. "Come on little brother please open the door. We have to talk. He could heard Quetzalcoatl sniffing and smelled his tears. "Please open this door or I will break it down!. I will keep at it all night and day if I have too!".
Reply

At first, Quetzalcoatl didn't answer. He thought maybe he could wait out his brother, but Tecciztechatl just kept banging on the door and shouting. Finally, he opened the door. Quetzalcoatl's skin had taken on a silvery shimmer as his scales began to form, and white feathers sprouted from his wrists and the sides of his face. Tears fell in rivets down his cheeks as he stared at the rabbit. "What."
