Jacob slept all through the rest of the day and late into the night. His body was obviously gathering all the strenght and energy he was going to need for giving birth. The lunar cycle had come full circle. The night sky was pitch black. Jacob's belly resembled the moon that was absent tonight; his large, pale, round orb of a belly. He was counting the moments. He knew, as with every other night this month, it would all begin at midnight.
Tecciztechatl had done all he could to make sure his young mate would be as comfortable as possible. Quetzalcoatl was not present, choosing to stay in his room. He knew Jacob wouldn't want him there anyway. "Terri... Terri, what if I c-can't do this?" Jacob asked, trembling slightly in the bed.
