Dr Channing walked in looking over his clipboard before sitting behind his desks and smiling up at the couple “Hey Jace and Michael” he said softly before typing something on his computer to pull up the file “So, we’re here for the 20 week check up today right?” He smiled comfortingly at both of them.

Jace nodded nervously “Yes and we have some…um….issues? We’d like to ask you about. I’ve just, I’ve been really really sick, more than I think is normal. And I’m exhausted, the morning sickness just wakes me up constantly and it’s just really difficult with those things and also trying to continue working with my current workload, which is not reduced yet but I didn’t think it would be this affected at this stage” he said biting his lip.

Dr Channing nodded and wrote something on his clipboard “Well, as you know, some male births the morning sickness does last until the fifth month unfortunately but don’t worry, when we do the ultrasound I’ll check the baby out and we can get your bloods taken to check if there’s any vitamins or if there is something wrong. But I don’t want you to worry, some people just get more sick than others, I can prescribe you something but it doesn’t always work and sometimes has side effects, like it can cause you to become more lethargic and you would probably be sleeping more than you would not and with your work I don’t think you would like that option”

Jace sighed and nodded looking over at Michael, they both knew he wouldn’t want to lose any more time than possible in his work. Most would say he was too dedicated to his job. He rubbed his tender stomach gently “I suppose one more month of this won’t kill me…” he sighed a little

Dr Channing smiled sympathetically and nodded “Okay, well how about we get you up on the bed and we look at this baby!” He grinned before standing up and set up the sonogram as Jace got comfortable on the bed. He grabbed the gel “Sorry for the cold” he said softly before squirting some onto Jace’s stomach gently.

Jace gasped softly from the cold and tightened his grip on Michael’s hand nervously as the doctor ran the transducer wand spreading out the gel and then running across the bottom of his stomach gently looking for the baby.

Dr Channing took very little time and frowned a little moving it around, making sure the heartbeat could be heard so they didn’t worry but continued moving the wand around almost curiously.

Jace bit his lip looking at the doctor nervously “What’s wrong?” He asked scared looking over at Michael before looking back at Dr Channing. Dr Channing shook his head at Jace “Nothing is wrong per se, are you sure the date of conception is correct?”. Jace frowned looking at Michael curiously “Yes? It was the night I got back from doing a story overseas and then I flew out the next day for another week” he said curiously.

Dr Channing put the wand down for a second and got up for a second “I’m just going to call a colleague, I’ll be right back” he said softly and smiled gently at them “Don’t worry, nothing is wrong with the baby, and this may help explain what’s happening to you in regards to your morning sickness and exhaustion” he said softly before walking out.

Jace looked at Michael terrified “What does that mean?” He said scared “Did I do something wrong? Is our baby growing wrong?” He shook a little.

Michael felt his mouth go dry as the doctor left the room to speak with his colleague. What were they going to tell them? What had they found? God, he didn’t know how he could support Jace if something was wrong because he knew Jace would blame himself.

Jace was still lying back on the table, his protruding belly glistening with gel. He looked terrified.

Michael squeezed his hand tighter and leaned down to kiss his husband. “Don’t fret, love” he whispered against his lips, “you’re going to be okay and so is our baby”

Jace kissed him back softly “How do you know?” He asked worriedly right before the doctor came back in with his colleague walking back over to Jace.

Dr Channing smiled at Jacks “Jace this is Dr Collings, he will just be looking at your ultrasound with me. We’re just going to confirm some things. So your conception date was the 15th of June so you’re twenty weeks today correct?”

Jace sighed exasperated “Yes, for the third time, that is correct. Now, tell me what’s wrong with our baby” he said biting his lip worriedly as the doctor picked the transducer wand back up and began to rub it over his stomach gently.

As Dr Channing ran the transducer over his stomach he spoke “I told you both before there is nothing wrong with your baby, it’s just an unusual situation so I want Dr Collings to confirm what I’m thinking. You’ve also dealt with extreme morning sickness and exhaustion correct?” He asked with Jace nodding continuing to look at the screen where their baby was “See?” He said looking back at Dr Collings pointing at the screen and down the bottom where the measurement section was. Dr Collings nodded “Yeah, I think you’re right, all the symptoms seem correct” he said crossing his eyes

Jace was about to lose his mind “Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on?!” He frowned getting angrier and more worried by the second. The doctor froze the screen and turned to them both.

Dr Channing sighed “It’s nothing horrible, it’s a rare condition, there haven’t been many cases in this country with it. You have Gigasuterine. Basically, the baby is growing more rapidly and bigger than normal. It puts a lot of pressure on your stomach and later in the pregnancy your other organs, but it’s why you can’t keep food down, the baby pushes against the stomach meaning the food rises and your body then takes this as you can’t digest it and pushes it out. It sounds really strange but you will need to eat on all fours and then remain in that position for half an hour to digest the food enough where it won’t come back up. The normal morning sickness will still subside by the fifth month but from that point on your baby will not stop growing, every day you’ll be a little bigger. I would suggest working less which I know you don’t want however this will be very stressful on your body, leading up to the birth, probably from week 34 onwards you will need to start stretching your hole to prepare for the baby if you still plan on having a natural birth, obviously you know that caesareans are highly dangerous for males so we always do that as a last resort. I can give you information on all of this on your next appointment which we will set for two weeks as I want to keep an eye on you more closely with something of this nature.”

Jace looked at him shocked “I’m having a huge baby? That’s what you needed to tell me? You could have said that much faster and not giving me a heart attack!” He said angrily. Dr Channing looked at Dr Collings before looking back at Jace “Jace, it’s not just a big baby, the cases of this that have happened, the babies have often been 25-30 pounds or 12-14kg” he said softly, Jace didn’t seem fazed by this so the doctor added “An average newborn is between 5.5 and 10 pounds or 2.5-5kg”, Jace felt his mouth fall open “So…it’s like three times as big as a newborn?” He whimpered scared “And you want me to birth that naturally?” He said shaking a little

“Holy shit,” Michael murmured under his breath as he listened to Dr Channing describe how Jace’s pregnancy was going to proceed. He almost felt a little guilty about how exciting the prospect of how big Jace’s belly was going to get. That was going to be the least of it though. Eating on all fours like a dog? He guessed that made sense from a digestion point of view. He’d do his best to make sure Jace felt as normal as possible doing it.

The point that really blew Michael’s mind was that they expected Jace to birth a 20+ lb baby out of his asshole. Michael had experienced how tight Jace was and knew it was going to take unbelievable preparation to make sure he delivered safely. He’d much rather that, though, than risk Jace and the baby dying during a c-section.

He could feel Jace trembling beside him.

“If anyone can do this, it’s you,” Michael said, taking the proffered piece of tissue from Dr Channing and lovingly wiping the gel from Jace’s belly.

Jace looked terrified at Michael as he wiped his belly before he sat up on the bed biting his lip “So…what are my options? Could I get induced early so it’s smaller? How fatal are caesareans?” He said biting his lip a little.

Dr Channing sighed a little “Inducing doesn’t work, it’s been tried before, we can try when you hit 36 weeks but it will probably just cost you money and not do anything. The caesarean is a last option for a reason Jace, 2% survival rate in men” he said softly “You don’t need to worry, we’ll take care of you and give you as much information as possible and I know Michael will help you with anything you need. I know that this is one of the most important things, you need to have the butt plugs and you need to stretch it as much as possible no matter how uncomfortable as the chance of you tearing is extremely extremely high and we want to avoid that as much as we can” he said softly looking between them

Jace swallowed roughly and shook his head “No, nope, this is not happening” he said shakily putting his face in his hands starting to hyperventilate a little, shaking a lot. Dr Channing looked at them “We’ll leave you alone for a few minutes but I assure you we’ll do everything to make sure you and your baby are safe Jace” he said softly before leaving the room with Dr Collings so they had a few moments alone

Michael gathered a sobbing Jace into his arms, his own eyes filling with tears. He hated seeing Jace so distressed and he knew he was going to have to be the strong one in the relationship for the foreseeable future.

“Trust us to make a super unique baby,” Michael joked softly, hoping to lighten the mood a little. “Dr Channing didn’t make it sound like there’s a risk to you or the baby in general, you’re just going to have to put up with some more discomfort than normal expectant parents but I’ll be with you every step of the way. I won’t let you down, I promise.”
He helped Jace fully off the examination table, pulling his tshirt down to cover his belly.

“Sounds like we need to make some plans though, babe. Starting with how we can make your working life as normal as possible for as long as possible.”

Jace smiled weakly at Michaels joke and took his hand sighing softly “This is terrifying” he said softly looking up at his boyfriend, he tried to smile and make a joke himself, “How are you going to resist me with my arse in the air every time I eat” he said softly.

He held onto Michael’s hand tightly as the doctor came back in and passed them some papers “This is just some basic information to help, pregnancy massages, a specialist in regards to diet to help you eat foods that digest faster for you. I’ll have a lot more the next time you come in” he smiled gently

Jace nodded taking the papers nervously “Um…thank you Dr Channing” he said softly looking over at Michael before they went to the front desk and made an appointment for two weeks time before leaving and getting into the car. Jace just stared out the window a little lost, he didn’t know what they were going to do, what he was going to do.

Jace was silent on the ride home and Michael let him get out of the car and head inside on his own.

“I’m going to head to the market to pick up those foods Dr Channing suggested” Michael called after him from the car. He drove away once he saw Jace safely through the door. He felt that the right thing for the moment was to give Jace some time alone to process the news.

Jace absently walked inside just looking around a little lost for a second before something changed and he pushed the baby out of his mind. He grabbed his laptop and his notebook. He set up his laptop and curled up on the couch putting his glasses on beginning to work pushing everything else he had just learned aside and focused solely on his work for the next few hours, only stopping to pee and have some water.

“Honey, I’m home!” Michael called out as he walked into the house, juggling three large paper bags in his arms. He put them down on the counter and looked around. No sign of his husband but he could hear the clattering of keys coming from the den.

“Hey.” Michael smiled as he watched Jace do what he did best - write. His fingers were flying over the keys and he seemed deep in thought. “Ready to take a break any time soon? I got you some goodies at the store. It’s weird but there was more junk food on the list than there was healthy crap. Who knew junk was easier to digest?!”

Jace looked up and felt his cheeks redden at the idea of him eating on all fours like a dog “Yeah, I suppose I can have a break” he said chewing his lip before looking at his laptop quickly typing out the end of the paragraph not wanting to lose his train of thought knowing that that was happening more often recently.

He stood and followed Michael out to the kitchen looking through the bags chewing his lip lightly “I don’t know what I want” he said quietly looking over at Michael nervously “And I really don’t want to eat like a dog” he said embarrassed

“How about you choose something then we head to the bedroom. If you get up on the bed on all fours, I could hand feed you? Would that make you feel less embarrassed?”

Jace laughed softly and shook his head “Probably not but I do like the idea of you feeding me” he grinned brightly before pulling out a small bag of chocolates and a bag of potato chips “Yum, salt and vinegar” he said happily. He chewed his lip a little looking over at Michael before blushing a little as he took his snacks to the couch and moved so he was on all fours with his ass in Michael’s direction before he ate some of the chips happily.

“Now I could get used to this,” Michael whistled, watching his husbands butt sway slightly as he devoured the packet of chips. He gave it a gentle slap as he moved around to face Jace. “Here, have a little drink” he said as he offered a bottle of water, the straw brushing across Jace’s lips before his husband captured it and swallowed greedily.

Jace yelped quietly when his ass was slapped and playfully glared at his husband “That’s what got us into this mess” he said finishing off the chips and eagerly drinking the water he had offered. He awkwardly stayed in the same position for the next half an hour before turning over and sitting on the couch properly “And now we wait to see if this works” he sighed a little and got up. “I’m going to go back and finish my article” he said stretching his limbs out a little before returning to his work.

Four hours had passed and Michael hadn’t heard the sounds he’d become accustomed to over the past few months coming from the bathroom.

He popped his head around the door of the den to be greeted by his his husband’s ass in the air as he shoved chocolate into his mouth with one hand as he carried on a conversation over speaker phone.
He waited until the conversation ended before he made his presence known.

“So, I take it it works,” Michael said, enjoying the sheepish look he got from his husband.

Jace nodded happily “I can eat again!” He said happily licking his lips free of chocolate and then sucking his fingers happily. He typed away on his laptop on the floor still in the position to ensure the chocolate didn’t come back up. “Did you want something from me?” He asked his husband looking up over his glasses smiling at him as he multitasked his typing and looking at Michael questioningly.

“No,” he said “ I just wanted to make sure you were doing okay. It’s great you’re able keep your food down finally. I’ll leave you to it.” Michael said, smiling at the sight of his studious husband, ass high and oblivious to how attractive he was. It was going to be a long few months but Michael was looking forward to watching it all unfold.

A month passed quickly and they had a lot more information from the doctor about what to expect. Jace’s morning sickness had finally disappeared however eating on his hands and knees was still necessary and the doctor had said he may need to take supplements after the seventh month as the baby would have pressed almost completely on his stomach by then.

Jace moved awkwardly in his work chair, he just couldn’t get comfortable. The baby kept moving but his back was also aching, the child was already measuring the same as an eight month old and he still had four months left. He stood stretching trying to loosen his muscles before sitting back down and completing his report just before the deadline. He sighed and grabbed his things before heading home.

He arrived home and got out of the car rubbing at his eyes tiredly he pushed open the door and went to the fridge looking through for something to snack on, his appetite since he had stopped being sick had grown so much.

Michael walked in to see the light shining from the refrigerator, highlighting his husband pregnant form as he searched for food.
“How are you bigger than you were when you left this morning?” Michael asked as Jace closed the door and turned to face him, his swollen belly providing a shelf for the snacks he’d grabbed. Michael knew the routine by now. Over the past month Jace worked a full day, although Michael had noticed he was coming home earlier each day. He’d then grab himself some snacks before heading to the bedroom to change into sweats and graze a little before allowing Michael to feed him the dinner he’d prepared for them both.
