Jace blinked slowly “No….that…that can’t be right” he said shock running through him as he was pulled into Liam’s arms “B-but they were moving yesterday, a lot” he said feeling tears in his eyes before he broke down into sobs holding onto Liam tightly unable to even think right now “What should I do?” He asked Liam unsure if one option was safer than the other.

"I'm really sorry Jace, it must have been recently. It's not your fault" the doctor assured the mother and allowed the couple to process the news.

Liam held him and rubbed his back "whatever feels best to you, I'll support you through it. I would be allowed to be with you in either case"

Jace held onto Liam tightly and nodded to the doctor although they probably all knew he would still be blaming himself for a long time. He bit his lip looking up at Liam “I…I think I want to birth them” he said shakily, unsure if it was the right decision but also almost wanting to torture himself a little more and he knew that a c-section would need more recovery as well.

The doctor nodded."we will get things ready." the doctor was solemn about the loss. He knew there were no words and best they could do is now make sure the mother was taken care of.

Liam was crying and cleaned his tears quickly. Knowing he had to be strong for his boyfriend.

" we will induce with pictocin, I believe it will take a couple of hours for the child to be delivered, or even less" it was a small child. Jace wouldn't have to fully dilate to deliver and as it was an induced birth they would be in control. "the pains will start about half hour after we administer the drug. Once you start feeling them we will rupture your waters to aid it to come more quickly" he said.

Liam was pale white but held his boyfriend's hand, in a sense he would prefer a c section to not see all the pain and anguish this would take but it was Jayce's choice.

Jace listened carefully and nodded. He couldn’t quite believe this was happening, after all the failed attempts he had had and now this, maybe he wasn’t meant to be a father. He looked up at Liam and rubbed his hand “Babe…you don’t have to stay if this makes you uncomfortable” he said quietly though really hoping that he said he would as Jace didn’t feel comfortable in this environment.

The half an hour passed quickly and Jace’s devastation at the loss was being replaced by fear about what was about to go through his body and birthing the child.

Liam shook his head "I'll be here" he said and silently hled Jace's hand as preparations were done and the drug administered.

Pains had started by now and the specialist was back to rupture the waters and speed the delivery.

"you'll be okay. Don't be scared it will be... Not as painful as you're thinking" he had been in other deliveries like this before. He had been in the job for eight years and in that time you got to see everything. Yet it was another story when it was your child that has passed.

Liam was hearing the beeping sound of a machine that was keeping track of Jace's heartbeat. Gently as the doctors instruction he aided his boyfriend to part his legs and raise a bit the hospital gown. A hook would be used to rupture the waters. Once done contractions would come quicker and more intense, just as dilation would speed up thabkstto the drug that caused labor.

Jace whimpered quietly at the cramping and took long steady breaths as they set everything up. He squeezed his boyfriends hand gently “Thank you sweetheart…for being here with me” he said tearfully. He knew Liam may find this even harder having experienced this with other men before.

Jace gasped a little and bit his lip trying to hold back his emotions as he really realised what he was about to go through to deliver a baby that he was never going to go home with. He squeezed his boyfriends hand tighter as he felt something enter him and then felt wetness in a small puddle under him.

"I know it's not my biological child but I thought of the baby as mine. You don't have to thank me." he said holding hand through the procedure.

The waters were ruptured swiftly and Jace would feel almost instantly how the contractions would get stronger. stronger" you did well, that's it"thr doctor said to ease his patient as he cleaned his thighs and opening from the amniotic fluid. The doctor felt for the position of the child, he was low and could tell was pressing on the pelvis. "of you need to change positions, just let us know Jace".

Jace smiled weakly up at his boyfriend tears in his eyes just as he got an intense cramp and couldn’t help but cry out a little both in shock and pain at how quickly it became painful. He grunted a little and grasped onto his stomach tightly breathing heavily.

He was unsure if he needed to change positions, he was definitely uncomfortable in his current position, more so that he could see everyone’s faces and their sadness at his loss. He bit his lip before groaning loudly throwing his head back at a second contraction that came so quickly after the last

Liam missed his boyfriends temple and held his hand, he gently massaged his side to ease the contractions that were coming. He whispered words of encouragement as the doctor owuod give simple instructions like breath or pant.

The doctor was between Jace's parted legs and would check dilation after an hour he announced Jace was ready to start pushing "You're dilated to what you need to be, can you try to give me a push so we can see I'd the baby can pass?"

After the hour Jace was covered in a slight sheen of sweat and his cheeks were flushed red. He grunted a little through another contraction before the doctor told him to push. He grabbed his boyfriends hand scared as he looked up at him before feeling another pain and taking a deep breath and pushing down as much as he could trying to get the child to move.

Liam gave a sad smile to his boyfriend in a way of encouragement to give his first push. He placed a hand on the lower belly to both comfort Jace and get a feeling of how strong the contraction was and where the child's head was at.

He saw Jace bare down, his face turning red as he pushed, the doctor counted for Jace up to ten to give him a mark and sign of how long he had to push for. "you're doing good dear" Liam said noticing how the child was moving down

Jace kept pushing, his whole face red from effort until the ten seconds were up and leaned back panting gently, he could feel the baby had moved lower, it was definitely in his hips now and they aches slightly at the pressure in them. He panted quietly to get his breath back before he was told to bare down again.

Liam rubbed the lower bump as his boyfriend struggled to deliver their child. He felt numb to what was happening, and he focused on simply getting Jace through this awful and terrible experience.

He was now supporting one of the legs of his boyfriend so he didn't had to use the cold stirrups as he continued to push on the child that was now beginning to crown for what he could see between his boyfriend's legs.

Jace was exhausted, he really hadn’t been even pushing that long but he was sweaty and hot and didn’t want to do this anymore “Baby, I change my mind” he said crying a little “I don’t want to do this” he said shaking his head quickly as the pain suddenly intensified with a burning and stretching pain starting to develop. He cried out in agony as he felt another contraction and pushed down screaming out at the burning sensation.

Liam was holding his leg up very gently and in a caring manner "I'm afraid is a little too late for that dear" he said as he took a peak between his legs as Jace bore down once more "you're crowning it will be over soon, just take deep breaths and pant now, I don't want you tearing for trying to force the head to quickly" he said as he reached between his legs to apply a bit of pressure around the anal ring as the skin began to strain around a bald emerging head.

Jace looked at his boyfriend tearfully and squeezed his hand leaning his head back panting heavily to keep his breath. He cried out a little at another contraction and pushed as gently as he could screaming at the burn digging his fingers into his boyfriends hand.
