Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, and normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward.

—Professor Charles Xavier

In the past years, the fight for Mutant Rights to be welcomed among society after devastating events laid by Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants drew to a partial climax when Sentinel Services reached a new high for Mankind and a huge low to Homo Superiors (Mutants). The giant robots meant to detain hostile Mutants that posed a threat to human way of life became too sentient. They now wanted to detain or eradicate anyone who could potentially have the mutant gene dormant in their systems. The Hellfire Club, Brotherhood and even the X-Men rallied together on the front to end Bolivar Trask’s hellish creations. Even he himself realized the error of his ways when the puppets became the masters.

Victory was achieved, but it came with a low blow. Master Mold figured out the ultimate code to ridding the world of the mutant populace, dispersing a toxin that made not just Mutants infertile and sterile, but also to those with the dormant genes. Now, Mankind could prosper in peace, but there was turmoil all around. Prior Munroe (Storm) had to divorce King T’Challa (Black Panther) because she could not fulfill just that simple duty as Queen of Wakanda. Jean Grey and Scott Summers (Cyclops) relationship he become strained even further. Even Wolverine himself, in all of his regenerative healing factors, could not fix this disease like done with the Legacy Virus and Apocalypse.

Life finds a way though. As the years passed, the X-Men were promoting peace tours alongside other teams such as the Avengers while Magneto lurked among his Man-Made continent Genosha with the rest of the Brotherhood. The Mutant Response Division (MRD) and even SHIELD themselves were doing their best to contain some of the dangerous Mutants for their own wellbeing. This is where the current acquisition comes into place after Charles Xavier discovered him on Cerebro. He was young, younger by most whose abilities are triggered via puberty and filled with much potential that it alerted the likes of the Brotherhood and even the Hellfire Club. For the MRD, there was no telling if ever there would be a day they’d use this ability to make something worse for Mutant kind as is. This kid’s abilities stemmed around affecting anyone’s biological makeup. In the wrong hands, he could trigger wars all over again. In the right hands, there may be a potential just yet. Charles knew this, but he didn’t exactly know the exact implications to those exposed from going to help rescue the kid before anyone else intervened. This kid was literally the cure to many’s infertility and sterility issues. All it took was for his mind to detect a flaw in a person’s body and fix it. Well, there was one huge flaw in mutant kind: they could not procreate. He unknowingly solved it among those who had come to save him.

Code:
Name:
Age:
Codename:
Your Mutation: (While they’re not furries, Mutants like Beast, Wolfsbane, Toad and even Anole have had their mutations so severe, it makes them animal in nature, so it’s possible to have a character like that, but keep in mind that their appearance also means they come with some rad mutant abilities).
Character Description:
Small Bio:
Role: Carrier/Both/Seeder

Where are you at in this scenario?
We will start aboard the X-Jet as Junior X-Men. This does not mean your skills are underdeveloped. This means you are now ready to leave the Academy and go out on the field, having been trained to master your abilities to some degree. You are under the supervision of Storm, Iceman and Shadowcat while the more Senior X-Men engage in another area against the Brotherhood who have also come to claim the kid as theirs. What did this kid do to exactly put him on everyone’s radar? He simply walked into a child’s hospital for a physical check up and upon leaving, every terminally ill child was cured.

Some Classifications to help out:

Beyond Omega Level Mutants: Mutants who are capable of taking their abilities past the limits of affecting things in just a worldwide and physical limit.
Notable Mutants: Gabriel Summers (Vulcan), Franklin Richards (Fantastic 4 member/Son of Reed Richards and Susan Storm), Jean Grey (Phoenix), Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch)

Omega Level Mutants: Mutants capable of phenomenally affecting the world around them on powerful levels.
Notable Mutants: Ororo Munroe (Storm), Erik Lensherr (Magneto), Bobby Drake (Iceman), Polaris, Professor Charles Xavier, Emma Frost, the Strucker Twins (Both Iterations of them), David Haller (Legion)

Alpha Level Mutants: While not worldly threatening, they are certainly powerful in their own right.
Notable Mutants: Scott Summers (Cyclops), Alex Summers (Havok), Sebastian Shaw, The Stepford Cuckoos, Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat), Illyana Rasputin (Magik), Piotr Rasputin (Colossus), Marcos Diaz (Eclipse), Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver)

Beta Level Mutants: The lowest classification, but by all means not a way of saying these Mutants are inferior. If anything, they’ve proven themselves to be the most lethal. They are by far the most common classification.
Notable Mutants: Remy LeBeau (Gambit), Rogue (Has Potential to go to Alpha and Omega because of her absorbing abilities), James Howlett (Wolverine), Raven Darkholme (Mystique), Hank McCoy (Beast), Wade Wilson (Deadpool), Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler)

Disclaimer: While this borrows elements from the comics to even the movies and television shows, this is by all means a partial retelling of events in our own way. The canon characters will be NPC’s and will appear here and there. These are characters from the comics as well as the films, to even some new characters made in the Gifted series downward to Legion on FX. If you need any help making a character or need ideas for powers, don’t hesitate to PM me ^^
There will be a limit on certain classifications, Omega in particular. Can’t have too many Overpowered characters, after all.

Depending on how far we go into this setting, it may eventually be closed off to the select few who remained throughout the story.

Name: Marcellus “Marcel” Porter
Age: 24
Codename: Monsoon
Your Mutation: While his normal skills equate him to that of a ninja, his actual powers stem from Hydrokinesis: The Manipulation and Formation of Water out of water molecules, his own body and even grom it’s gas (steam) and solid (ice) forms. He is an Omega-Level Mutant, though he heavily nerfs himself until he can fully control his abilities.
Character Description: Afro-Hispanic with predominant African features. A soft caramel brown skin tone. Stands at 5’11” with an upper muscular build and lean physique overall fit for a male who usually spends his time doing parkour. Wears diamond studded earrings. Otherwise normal in appearance until his powers get a bit out of control. Like most Omega level Mutants, this means there is a much darker persona underneath.
Small Bio: Marcel was the subject of a National Headline: Massive Floodings in Dallas, Texas. It wasn’t by choice. He had unknowingly come into his powers from numerous incidents triggering it to a full head. The Friends of Humanity going on a violent rally against Morlocks (Mutants disfigured by their mutation and forced to live in the sewers as a result) caused everything to erupt and him to black out. When he came to, he was being treated by Ororo Munroe and Bobby Drake who informed him of his condition. Ever since, he’s been at the academy for years in hopes to better control his abilities because if the MRD had actually pinpointed him to the source of everything, he would have not seen the light of day again.
Role: Both

——————————————————————————————————————
Time: 7:30 PM
Month: December 12th
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Season: Winter || Mildly Snowing

The skies were dark as much as they were cloudy and bustling with small amounts of snow. Marcel sat in the seat aboard the X-Jet, Ororo Munroe at the helms of the ship itself and her second in command, Bobby Drake, next to her. Usually the more Senior members would have taken the jet, but Cyclops and Wolverine both had a proverbial pissing contest they refused to lose on which method of getting to Pittsburgh was more efficient. Marcel didn’t mind though. He honestly preferred the Jet over a car.

“Look Sharp,” the African Queen of storms commanded. “We will be at the drop off point soon. It may be a war zone down there already.”

They had the simple task of retrieving the mutant in question from armed humans and possible evil Mutants who wanted them for their own cause. Under no circumstances were they to let this kid get into those dangerous hands. There was no telling what would happen. This is what it meant to be a part of the X-Men, a nifty uniform to wear and showing the world that not every mutant was out on a war to prove they were superior to humans, Inhumans, Asgardians and what have you. As the Jet began to descend, it cloaked itself with invisibility. Marcel turned to look back at the others he would be working with.

[Character Name:] Clay "Vamp" Ross
[Character Age:] 27 Years Old
[Character Height:] Six Foot Tall (6")
[Character Weight:] One Hundred and Eighty-Eight Pounds (188)
[Character Sexuality:] Homosexual
[Character Preference:] Seeder and Carrier
[Character Race:] Humanoid | X-Gene Mutant; Power: Energy Vampire and Levitation
[Character Residence:] Wherever it is safe at the moment.
[Character Occupation:] Unemployed
[Character Description:] Clay is a Red Skinned humanoid with black tribal-pattern lines crossing his arms, back, neck, and part of his face. He has black eyes and jet-black hair that is centered in the middle of his head - a Mohawk, essentially.  His hair goes down to his shoulders and is often seen braided.
[Character Biography:]
Both of Clay's parents happened to be X-Gene Mutant Carriers, but not Genetically mutated themselves.  Clay was born into a world where X-Gene Carriers and X-Mutants alike were hunted on a daily basis; whether it was for research, torture, or to simply kill a X-Mutant if their powers were too strong and could be potentially dangerous.  Because of this, his family has lived on the run from the Sentinel Bounty Hunters and Sentinel Armed Forces alike.  They have never stayed in one place for too long, as a lot of the places they stayed were either raided or destroyed by the Sentinels and Purification Squads.

Clay has never settled down with anyone, for fear of one day losing the person whom he chooses to fall in love with.  Just as his parents died, when he was just coming into his own powers.  He first found out that he could levitate at the young age of twelve years old - and that is when his family started running from the Sentinel armed forces.  He was originally born in New York City, but does not remember much of the city as he has since moved to several other locations and all of his memories of his childhood had been erased by a pulse-blast that rendered him in a coma for over three months.

Clay later found out that he actually possessed two powers - which was rare, unless you were genetically modified in a laboratory.  He found out that he could manipulate and use other X-Mutant's powers, even if they were unable to use them themselves, as long as he was within range of their bodies.  It became a useful tool for the Mutant Underground when they were under attack in their headquarters.  They all narrowly escaped death that day, as Clay and several other X-Mutant's used their doubled powers to escape the wrath of Sentinel Hunters.

Clay has worked his way up the ranks in the Mutant Underground league, and now serves as a captain to their Militia Army.  He tries not to use his Energy Vampire skills too often, as he does not like invading other people's powers and using them for his own personal gain, but sometimes - if one's emotions are too strong - he cannot help but be overcome with their emotions and use their powers as well - with or without their permission.  Because of this, he is often upset with himself and goes on self-hating binges that are hard to break him out of.  He wishes that someone would come along and make the pain of it all go away, but he's not entirely sure that there is a person out there that exists for those reasons - but still he hopes.

Clay twisted his hands together, floating just above the surface of where he was sitting at the back of the plane.  He had been anxious since boarding, and now he was growing even more anxious.  Sure, he had been in entanglements before, but it never ceased to stop him from getting severe anxiety before any planned battles.  Anything that randomly came his way?  He was more than sufficient in handling, but when it was planned?  And he was one of the lead guys that would be hopefully leading his team to victory?  Yeah, he was a ball of nervousness.

He felt eyes lingering on him for a few moments and he let his eyes pop open to see Marcel, another of his kind, but definitely more "normal" looking, especially compared to himself, staring at him.  Clay blinked his black eyes and dropped from his meditative levitation pose.  He stood up with the grace of a boneless man and moved across the space of the plane quickly, dropping down in the seat in front of Marcel.

"You're not nervous, are you?" he asked, and despite his nervous interior, his voice was completely calm and smooth.  He could admit, if only to himself, that he found Marcel attractive, but personally he knew that he could not devote any space in his heart to another man.  He had done that before and all it caused was monumental pain, heartbreak, and devastation.  He swore himself to a life of single living, even if it meant dying alone... He wouldn't put himself through that again, thus why he always looked so bored or discontent with his surroundings.  He walled his emotions off completely, not wanting to attach himself to anyone.

Marcel had headphones and let his mind go into auto drive to the tunes until someone walked away from their seat and sat in the one directly ahead of him. He was speaking, asking about nervousness, but in all honesty, there was only a matter of assures calm, evident by the partially cocky smirk he sported.

“Not at all,” he insisted with a shrug. “If the Danger Room sessions trained us for anything, it’s all about keeping a steady head until shit hits the fan and from what I’ve heard, shit often hits the fan, but...”

Maybe Marcel was a fan of that particular chaos. He wouldn’t be overly radical to his ideas like Magneto and the Brotherhood itself were, but he would be lying if he said he didn’t like to get a little physical against the likes of practically racist bastards. There was absolutely nothing wrong with being a mutant as Storm taught him and nothing wrong with being gay as Iceman taught. This red-skinned male just happened to hit a few person spots that Marcel happened to like, but whether Clay actually leaned that way or not was beyond him. The Hydrokinetic just knew if someone looked attractive, he was totally going to flirt and probably bat a wink.

“But hey,” he continued. “I just so happen to have a discount on protecting tall, crimson and gorgeous men.”

If he wasn’t so busy, Iceman would have cracked a chortle aloud. Marcel used to be a practically timid male, but now he was properly confident in himself as a person and as a mutant. Oh, how they grew up fast. Bobby cleared his throat as the jet landed however, ready to speak up. “We’ve landed everyone. From here on out, from shouting to using the comm link, code names only.”

Marcel glanced at the red skinned male, extended a gloved hand towards him. “Put it there. I’m Monsoon.”

Clay warily reached out to shake Marcel's hand, doing so quickly and efficiently rather than lingering too long - it still felt like an electric bolt ran through his body, but he immediately pushed those wayward thoughts down and away - "Vamp," he introduced himself quietly as he brought both of his hands back into his lap "I usually go by Clay, when we're not reduced to code names." he whispered, shrugging his broad shoulders.

Clay looked around the jet as they landed. People were already moving around and Clay didn't feel like being one of those people - he would be in the air, again, shortly anyway. With his ability to levitate, he could easily float above where they would be located at and it came with advantages that not many other people had; especially with his Energy Vamping skills, he could easily syphon someone else's skills from the sky and use it against any attackers.

“Well, you can call me Marcel after this is all over,” whispered back towards the male, though in all honesty, neither Storm nor Iceman were overly strict about conversations until the got off the jet itself. Still, Marcel noticed that Clay never actually found repulse in the partial compliment the hydrokinetic gave him. Why not shoot his shot, so to say? “Maybe when everything is said and done, you could join a few of us at the bar the celebrate or mope. It’s what we usually do every once in a while.”

Now, it was time to get a bit serious. As the hull of the jet lowered into a walkway, the first thing the figurative sky goddess did was take to the skies. Her brown eyes faded, replaced by thunderous white as a dense fog began to fill the cold night air. Soon, she landed back on the ground, heels tapping against gravel as she walked towards the team.

“The MRD is moving in on the neighborhood,” she informed them. “The subject in question is Mark “MK” Sandifer. After talking with his parents earlier, they’ve agreed to let us bring him to the Academy. The problem is, of course, the MRD and even the Brotherhood refuse to let that be the solution. We can’t let him get into the government or the enemy’s hands. We have to move quick, but if a fight must come, be prepared for anything.”

Of course, the mistake was having James Howlett on the defense side of things. All it ever took for mutant who was the best there was at what he does to do is just run his mouth and things like this, the sounds of explosions popping off nearby, would occur. They could hear the bickering on the comm links. Wolverine ran his mouth off at Sabertooth, his sworn enemy. The Brotherhood was here, which meant the MRD could not be far off as well. Thankfully, there was the fog to help lower visibility.

“Move fast,” Storm commanded as she took to the skies. Iceman blasted particles into the air as he took off on an ice ramp constantly forming. As for Marcel? Well, he could be fancy or he could be stealthy. He chose the latter.

“Let’s scout the houses out,” he said while walking rather quickly.

Clay easily caught up to Marcel and smiled at the other man, his feet hovering just inches above the ground as the other walked around the darkened streets "You know, I have an easier way of traveling... One less obvious?" Clay offered, looking at his hovering feet and then over at Marcel.

What he really wanted to do was just whisk Marcel up onto his back and fly over the houses or even bounce from yard to yard, knowing he couldn't carry much weight and levitate across the sky as easily as he could have alone. He shrugged his shoulders though "It's up to you, either way we have to stick together... May as well figure out the best mode of transportation, huh?"

“One less obvious way of...”

It didn’t take long for Marcel to see what was going on. Clay was hovering instead of standing, which meant he could fly more or less. It was easy to assume that this red-skinned male might be willing to go the distance and take them to the house a bit more quicker. It beat hopping over fences and pulling off ninja and parkour tactics, for sure.

“Alrighty, big fella,” Marcel said. “I’m all for it. I’m just gonna hop on your back and scooch right on in.”

And he did just that, too, swinging arms around Clay’s shoulders and lightly tapping him to cue he was now ready to ride this rodeo.
