"Good night..." whispered quietly to him, stroking his back lightly.
The next day Nathan felt better from the morning. He performed basic tasks on his own strength. However, the problem began at school when his blackboard marker fell. He felt severe pain when bending down.

Taylor could see Nathan struggling to get the pen while teaching his class, he was sat at the back of the room. After about a half a minute of watching, Taylor stood up and picked the pen up, handing it to his lover. “Go sit in your chair”, he whispered, walking past him.

Nathan nodded slightly, then sat down at his desk. He asked a willing student to solve the task on the board. As he sat he stroked his tense lower abdomen, trying to calm himself down.

Taylor frowned, wondering what was going on with Nathan and pulled out his phone. Hiding it under the table he messaged him, ‘what’s going on? You look so uncomfortable’

Nathan carefully took the phone and managed to send a message.
"I have pains ... But I will pass, don't stress," he tried to reassure his lover

‘Okay but let me know if they don’t or if you need me to do something to help’, he wrote back, looking back up at the teacher. There was a couple of months left until the birth, this shouldn’t be happening yet.

Nathan put the phone down. He immediately stroked his tummy.
"Alright... Let's move on to task number 18," he began to continue the class, trying to be genuinely engaged despite his discomfort.
He wanted to approach the nurse at the break to check if everything was okay.

Taylor couldn’t focus, he was too busy wondering what was going on with Nathan. Hopefully the pains were normal for someone that far along in their pregnancy.

At the end of the class, Nathan, in order not to strain himself, had the students do three tasks. He hoped it was simply pain resulting from his advanced pregnancy.

Finally the lesson ended, once everyone had left the classroom and shut the door, Taylor sneakily headed back in. He saw Nathan sitting in his chair and rubbing his stretched belly. “Hey baby, how are you feeling?”, he asked, sitting on the teachers desk. He lifted up Nathan’s shirt and rubbed his bare belly.

Nathan looked genuinely surprised at Taylor and grabbed his wrist quite firmly.
"We're at school..." he reminded him and quietly sighed while covering his belly with his sweater "I have pains, but it's probably the fake ones.... I'll go to the nurse just to be sure."

“I locked the door, don’t worry”, Taylor said, chuckling at Nathan. He thought back to how uncomfortable Nathan had looked earlier, “yeah it’s probably best you get them checked out”.

Nathan looked at him. He smiled weakly and got up from his chair with Taylor's help.
"Go first... We mustn't arouse suspicion" he whispered "When I find out what's going on I'll write you" he promised

“Please do tell me, I want to be the first person you tell”, he said, giving him a kiss and unlocking the door. He looked into the hallways seeing no one around and leaving.

Nathan sighed quietly. He put his things away in a drawer in his desk and walked slowly out of the room. He headed for the nurse's office. Fortunately, the students were eating lunch in the cafeteria at this time so the hallways were empty.

He knocked on the office door.
"Excuse me, can I take a moment?" he asked him

The nurse opened the door and smiled at the sight of the teacher, “of course you can, mr cooper”, they started, “what seems to be the problem?” They had moved to sit down, the nurse on their chair and Nathan on the bed.

Nathan sighed quietly. He stroked his back.
"You know... I have pains," he replied very anxiously, "I'm afraid it might be something serious."

The nurse nodded his head in understanding, “how far along are you?”, he asked. This information was very important, if he was still early on then that would be really bad but if he is later on in the pregnancy, then it is quite common.

"It's almost seven months," he replied quietly, and gently removed his sweater from his body to give the nurse access to examine him.

The nurse gently pushed down on the belly, trying to feel where the baby was positioned. “Okay so it feels like the baby is still head up which is good because you aren’t in the last two months yet”, he started, “so the pains you are experiencing are braxton hicks”.
