Jethro came forward to catch Alex as he almost collapsed down on the bed after the last contraction. He smoothed his back, helping Alex catch his breath as they had a tiny break between contractions. The skin around his opening was stretched tight, and as Alex panted, the head which had become visible now slowly retreated back into the warmth of his body. Jethro opened his mouth to say something but thought better of it as Alex needed the silence to concentrate.
