Moaning, Jeff took one more breath in and held it, bearing down with all his strength, pushing against Sophie's hand with his foot.

"Beautiful, Jeff. Last time, then we take a break. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten and breathe out", she said and pulled his leg back to her.

Sophie could see Jeff's fingers curling into his thigh muscles as he bore down, his toes curling as he tried to use every ounce of strength in his body to bring his first baby's head into the world. He pushed against Sophie's hand with his foot as inside him he felt like his insides would burst from the pressure. He couldn't help but moan before Sophie finished counting.

"Well done.......you did beautifully. Let's have a break", she said and smiled, while gently pulling his leg back to her and patting onto his strong shoulder. "Are you okay ??", she asked him.

Jeff was in a lot of pain, but did his best to relax and catch his breath. "I really want these babies out of me" Jeff said, still managing a weak smile.

Sophie nodded. "I know........but you are just doing so wonderfully. Try to bear the pain a bit longer and your first son will be there quicker than you think", she said and smiled, gently stroking his tensed shoulder.

Jeff tried to relax as long as he could, but soon the urge to push once again overwhelmed him. "I'm going to push" Jeff said, feeling his belly tighten with another contraction.

Sophie nodded. "Alright, Jeff. Take a nice deep breath, hold it in and push hard", she said and pushed against his leg, gently stroking his knee with her left and his foot with her right hand.

Jeff arched forward and pushed while Sophie counted to ten, exhaling and then inhaling sharply at the end of her count to push again.

"Beautiful, Jeff. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten and breathe", she said, taking a look between his legs, but only seeing some amniotic fluid there.

Jeff pushed one more time, following Sophie's count before taking a break.

"Good job, big boy......take a little break and I'll check your progress in the meantime", she said and smiled. Then she gently placed his leg back on the bed so that his legs were spread and went to the end of it to take a look. "Hm.......", was the only thing she said as she saw what was between his legs.

"What is it?" Jeff asked, looking over his gravid belly to Sophie between his legs. "Is everything alright?"

Sophie looked up into his eyes. "Well.....yes......it's just that your progress is quite slow.......I don't see anything yet", she explained.

Jeff frowned, discouraged to hear that despite his discomfort that he still was a far way off from delivering his first baby. "Is there anything we can do to speed up the process?"

Sophie shook her head. "Not really......but we could try another pushing technic", she explained.

"Alright, let's give it a shot" Jeff said, eager to try Sophie's suggestion.

Sophie nodded. "Okay.....this new technic would be exhaled pushing. This means that you push down as normal, but that you exhale at the same time with a nice "aaaah" or a "ffffff"......this will help to relax your pelvis and your muscles and could be good for the progress", she explained.
