The mantis covered the sixth seed with dirt before he picked up the womb again and flew it to the last mound. Once again he dug a hole, this one so wide and deep that he could fit the entire girth of the womb inside. He forced the alien to his knees at the edge of the hole then grabbed the back of the invader's head and roughly shoved it toward the hole. He ignored the strange colored fluid that flowed from the corners of the alien's mouth as his focus was on the last seed.
The womb made strange, unearthly sounds as he tried to force the last pod from his body but the mantis offered no support. He would do his part and no more. He watched the womb struggle with the final seed his arms and legs jerking widely as the pod moved. The mantis had no idea that Khell was in pain, that the newcomer's jaw hung in an unnatural way. He turned his head to look at the other mound and sure enough, the first seed already sprouted from the mound. Pale yellow vines which in time would darken to their adult color already grew and crept over the mound. Seeing the womb's success, he pushed on the alien's back trying to force the last pod out.
