The crew stopped at a diner for a hearty (read: fatty) dinner and then made their way to the clinic in Philadelphia. Once there, they introduced themselves to the surgeons who had developed the plan on how to perform c sections on the alien fetuses. The doctors explained how a laser was used to open the uterus, cauterizing the uterine walls as the cut was made, but the c sections had yet to be successful. It seemed like the host's body just could not handle the stresses of such a violent c section procedure with such an incredibly large fetus. Discouraged but not defeated, the crew and the doctors from Philadelphia set to work trying to devise a technique that would work.
