Jethro rushed back to Alex from where he had been cleaning the dishes and to get his secret sip of coffee, something he sitll couldn't manage to fight off even though Alex had gone caffeine free for 10 months now. "Another one?" HE said pressing on the timer, both excited and a bit frightened by how the interval had shortened. "I am here, don't worry." Jethro got close to Alex and helped him endure the wave of pain.

He gasped trying to keep his breathing steady and even, not as easy as it might have seemed. He groaned breathing threw the pain until it let up again and he relaxed back against the couch. Alex knew vary well they were only going to get stronger but they felt plenty strong to him already. He let out a long breath releasing Jethro's hand

Jethro kissed Alex on the face. "that's a tiny victory. One down now. You are doing great." He smiled encouragingly keeping the spirit high. he pressed Alex onto his shoulder and held his hips, kneading it to relieve some pressure. "That's some progress we are making. Things are looking perfect."

Alex relaxed a bit, or at least he tried to, it helped a bit if nothing else distracting him from the pressure settled there. After awhile Alex got up, it was uncomfortable to stay sitting, of course it was also uncomfortable to stand at the moment but he needed to walk around for a bit.

Awhile passed and he often switched between pacing and resting unable to find anything that was actually comfortable. When the next pain hit him he was standing near the kitchen table. He leaned over it letting out a low groan.

Jethro had been following him around and once Alex started groaning, he went into position to put counterpressure on his hips and lower back. He would be going to warm the heat packs after this, in hope that the increased circulation would relief some of the discomfort.

The contraction hit a peak and Alex cursed loudly before the pain finally died down again. "That one was strong." He said taking a seat at the table for a moment to rest and catch his breath.

"And it's closer together than any other. it is progressing well considering." Jethro looked at the clock that said it's 10am now, after 5 hours of labor the contractions were now 30 minutes apart. "Do you feel any shift of pressure, towards your, err, canal?" Jethro asked with his ears slightly tinted red.

"n-no... not really.. I mean.. it's defiantly lower but I don't know." Alex said quietly he didn't know what this was really supposed to feel like, just that it would hurt, and it currently did. "Can you get me some water?"

"Sure. of course." Jethro was glad he was assigned with some task and hurried off to get that. With 30 minutes in between, he could very well move away not having to worry about another contractions striking in his absence yet. He also took out the heat packs to be boiled in water, thinking it would be time to elicit their service.

Alex stayed where he was resting for the moment when Jethro eventually returned he sipped at the waited and then moved to the couch to used the heat packs letting out a long sigh of relief as the warmth eased the pain in his back and hips.

The next contraction brought with it a feeling of pressure he could only gasp gritting his teeth the hotpacks had warn off by now he was no longer keeping track of there timing instead trusting Jethro to do that. He groaned leaning foreword where he sat with one hand wrapped aorund his belly.

Jethro sat close by enough that if Alex wanted to take anything from him, he could. He watched on as the belly almost changed shape from the strong contractions. The lower part of the belly was pressed against by the couch as Alex leaned forward, probably in his half conscious effort in releiving the stress on that area. "Yes remember your breathing, keep it steady and let the breathing dominate your attention." Jethor said softly beside Alex. It was just 20 minutes from the last one.

Alex struggled pulling air into his lungs in quick breaths. Even after the pain faded the pressure was still there. "Help me up." He said after the contraction had faded, he was aware of the fact that his water was likely going to break soon and that the contractions were coming closer together everytime they hit now.

Jethro quickly removed the packs on Alex before heaving him up by his waist. He could almost visibly see the belly dropping even lower, deep between his legs. "Easy love, take all the time you need." The scrowl on Alex face indicated he had been suffering from discomfort even with the contraction past.

He leaned on Jethro for a long few moments slowly moving around the room it wasn't as easy as it normally would have been with the baby resting so low his hips ached with every step but standing relieved a lot of the pressure at the moment.

When the next pain hit Alex found him self leaning on jethro. The mussels contracting with such force that Jethro might have been able to visibly see it. Alex cursed and cried out in pain. It grew worse until finaly he felt something give, Alex didn't understand what it was until the contraction finally faded and he realized his water had broken.

Each step took a lot out of Alex as they paced around the living room, as evident from the veins popping and the slight trembling of Alex's thighs. Jethro tried his best to relieve Alex's burden, and carried all of his weight when he was obviously hit by another round. To hear Alex crying out in pain said a lot on how much discomfort he was in, his normally tough soldier who preferred to stay in control, finally losing it. Jethro held Alex tight, holding him from his bottom to steady him and therefore was the first to feel the trickle of liquid running down. He whispered to Alex albeit knowing he was still not fully conscious being overwhelmed by pain. "Alex babe that's the water, our baby's going to come very soon now." He found his eyes wetting from reaching this indicative step. This was indeed happening.

He looked down blushing slightly, he had expected it but still he was slightly embarrassed. After a few minutes he had Jethro help him out of his wet cloths. "I want to go back up stairs.." he didn't want to deliver the child in the living room. He knew if he was lucky it would only few a few more minutes before the baby began to arrive." He wanted to lay down on the bed instead of the couch there was more room and it would be more comfortable.

Jethro nodded agreeing to Alex, kissing his beautiful blush. His birthing lover was the boss now. With Alex stark naked, Jethro helped Alex up the stairs. Each step required Alex to lift his leg, which would press on his belly a little, and the comprssion would make his water drip a little faster. When they were halfway and Alex was patning with the exercise, Jethro finally couldn't resist and looked back to see the trail left by them, trying hard to keep the snicker in.

Alex was breathing hard he took a moment to rest and continued he was leaning heavily on Jethro when they reached the top of the stairs and he had only just reached the bed when he felt anther contraction grip him. They baby was making slow progress, considering the fact his water had just broken but even so it was progress and he could feel it droping lower.

Jethro was just putting Alex down on the bed when the contraction hit and Jethro was put on auto-pilot, lifting the almost immobile Alex up on the bed, spreading his legs wide. He hurried off to fetch some towels, which Alex had laid out, and put them under Alex's bum. The moving of his hips proved to be no-good as Alex moaned painfully getting his bottom lifted. "Sorry love, gotta sneak those towels in." Jethro muttered an apology as he shifted onto the bed sitting beside his lover.

Alex groaned the child was currently logged deep in his pelvis he had made it to the bed and that was about all he could do now, he was stuck "uggghh." he groaned as the contractions continued it lasted nearly a full minutes before dying down. "Oh god.. it hurts.." He gasped and there was desperation lased in his voice he was obviously struggling.
