Lost Expedition (NSFW, Still Open for now)

"It still feels like I had a part to play in this..." Keith had no idea what would happen to Len that would require him to need to stay hidden, but here he was inside of the cart. For someone that was not entirely able to fight off people with magical aspects to them, it made him partially worry all the more. He sat on the floor, wondering what could be going on with not just Simon, but the others that were captured.

Air sighs "Len wants to save the others too the capture of Simon just made it worse." The cart seems to warm up greatly. After an hour the cart door opens and Air rushes outside.

Simon proceeded not to go to sleep at all; he was considering his few options. Maybe in the morning he could try to find a way down the crag, or find something to use in his own defense. Neither idea seemed wonderful, and even if he did escape his captor's nest, he had no real idea where in the world he was relative to Ryun and Keith, and the shadow-creatures might just haul him back in...

Still, there had to be something he could do, besides shiver and wait and feel as if he were about to start retching; he couldn't tell whether he felt sick due to the smell of the nest, or what had just happened to him, or because there were eggs forming in him. Maybe the harpies knew something about the layout of the area.

The two harpies from yesterday bring food in the morning. Simon's personal harpy wakes up and goes to the food, it's mostly fish and seafood. "Hey human are you hungry?" He gets a fire started and some sticks "I know you humans like your food cooked."
Reply

"Hungry....uh, sort of." Simon wasn't sure whether he could face food in his current state, but decided to play along; it had been a long time since he'd last eaten, at any rate. He stood and headed over to the fish, and the incipient fire (finally some heat). "This is awkward at best, but what do I call you? What's your name?"
Reply

He poke at the fire with a stick "you can call me raven. So what do I call you human? Breeder is too common and undignified." He preens his wings while he keeps the fire going.

White and gold seemed like odd colors for the feathers of a "Raven", but Simon kept his mouth shut about that. "Simon, you can call me Simon..." The comment about dignity riled him; none of this was terribly dignified. He found a stick, and a thing that looked like a large shrimp, and commenced trying to crack the shell before cooking with his hands.

(Black, but ok)

Raven nods "Simon, interesting name. I like it. So where are you from?" He grabs a tuna and lightly cooks it before eating.
Reply

(Ah, okay, I must have misread. Sorry.)

"...a long way away," Simon was trying to cook the shrimp on a stick, while hoping his stomach would stay calm. Why couldn't he have been smart enough to get some actual town names or landmarks out of Len and company? "In fact, I'm not even sure where this place is relative to...everything else. I mean, I never knew where harpies lived before, or even that there were any left."
Reply

(It's ok)
Raven blinks "ah well that's cus you human hunted us till there was just males and a few females. Our kind learned to breed males as well as females, it was this gene that zero used to make the every one else breed. Sense then we have been gaining back our knowledge and tech." He sighs and sits down

That was some interesting news and made a surprising amount of sense, considering. "So that's why you're allied with...him." Zero was pretty terrifying; he seemed to have access to a level of technology and mad science unlike that anywhere else he'd seen here. "If I may ask, was that original gene a natural mutation or something you guys did artificially before you lost your tech?...professional interest, although I'm in marine and not avian biology." He smiled weakly, bit into the shrimp, and wished he hadn't; Simon returned to trying to cook the thing to more acceptable levels.

Raven put another fish on a stick and started to cook it. "A bit of both our tech made out genes easier to change. So when it was easy for one male to breed multiple females we became female dominant more females where born. When most of the females died and we had mostly males our males gained the ability to breed."

The shrimp was finally done, and didn't actually taste that bad, all things considering. He managed to swallow it, instinctively touching his belly in an effort to keep his insides calm. "Well, that does make a certain amount of sense- Am I the only human here? Are there any other prisoners?" As long as he was actually holding a civil conversation with the harpy, he wanted to learn something that might be valuable.

Raven stops to think "your the 68th human here. The others breed multiple humans but I kinda don't care for that life. I would rather fly free over our ocean, but having one breeder is ok I guess." He eats the undercooked fish and sighs.
Reply

"And I'd rather be....just about anywhere else," Simon admitted flatly, cracking another shrimp. He was glad not to have been pitched into the sea, but was absolutely dreading the process to come. "I don't suppose I can convince you to let me go somewhere and both of us can forget this ever happened." He sighed and discarded the shrimp shell. "I mean, I know you need to continue your species, but..."

Raven sighs "I can't let you go. I'm sorry, if I did my kin would kill me. As well as I would like to have my own hatchlings to teach the true history of the harpies before it is rewritten by the victors." He hops over to his nest "I think you already have the hatchlings inside you, I don't need to breed you any further. Would you like a blanket?"
Reply

"That....that would actually be nice." Simon gingerly felt his stomach below the navel, trying to see if he could sense anything out of the ordinary besides nausea and soreness. "How many, usually...?" Birds usually had more than one egg at a clutch, didn't they?
Reply

Raven pulls out a blanket and flies over to the human dropping the blanket onto simon. "Can have 2 up to 10 is the max I've ever heard of average is 3 to 5."
Reply

The blanket smelled pretty strongly of harpy nest, but Simon wasn't complaining, wrapping himself in the thing in an effort to cover himself. "Oh. Well then." He wasn't sure what to say to Raven's statement, and started investigating the nest and the crag itself in order to see where he'd either have to be living, or have to escape from.
Reply

Raven watches confused at first but catches on after a bit. He stops simon from exploring anywhere near the exit of the cave. "I told you I'm not stupid. Your not escaping in any way. If you try I have to tie you to the back of my cave and that won't be pleasant."
