Nillik nods "so that's why your so diffrent. Huh the Bermuda Triangle...sounds silly. Well if you need a better understanding of this world I know some people that might help."

[stoichornet]

"That would be excellent. I don't know how much time I have left before....well....but I'd rather not spend it sitting around." Simon smiled ruefully. "I want to get something done so I'm no longer a load on other people."

[Okamiryun]

Nillik nods "ok well my freind is just a walking distance away. I'll gladly take you to him."

[stoichornet]

"...Thank you." Simon got up unsteadily, feeling the weight of the harpy eggs, however many there were. "Is there anything I need to know about him?"

[Okamiryun]

Nillik nods "don't stare at his missing arm. I don't know if he is ready to talk about that yet. Oh and keep sparks nearby. He has a very cold home."

[stoichornet]

"Will do." Simon petted the firebird. "Stick with me, Sparks. I'm nice and warm....What's his name?"

[Okamiryun]

Nillik smiles "most just call him doc, but his name is Teri. He is a penguin shifter and a pritty good healer dispite the missing arm."

[stoichornet]

"A...penguin shifter." Well, that would explain the cold house. Simon had seen weirder things in urban fantasy novels, and it would definitely be the first time he'd ever met a one-armed werepenguin. "I like penguins. Sounds like an interesting guy."

He instinctively reached up to adjust his glasses, despite the fact that they'd been missing for some time. "Shall we go?"

[Okamiryun]

Nillik nods "ok sounds good." He puts on a cloak and leads the way.

Simon followed him, heading out along a trail; he was still a bit nervous about the idea of angry locals, although Nillik had told him people stayed away from this area, and petted Sparks gently to reassure himself.

[Okamiryun]

Nillik shows Simon a tent attached to a cave. "This is where any one stupid enough to attack me ends up." There is one person in a cot near the front of the tent. Other then that the tent is empty. Nillik opens the door in the back if the tent that leads to a cave.

Simon glanced at the injured person. "You're a very kind person...." It said a lot about Nillik that he was willing to take care of a would-be attacker. He went through the door and into the cave, and immediately felt colder; caves were used as primitive cold storage a long time ago, so it was a natural idea for a werepenguin to live in one.

[Okamiryun]

Nillik looks down. "I can't blame them for disliking my drow-like exterior. It may take time but maybe they will learn I'm not like the drow." A skinny male with messy black hair walks over. "Oh nillik? No unconsis fool this time?" Nillik shakes his head no. Sparks cuddles close to Simin to help keep the human warm.

"Doctor Teri?" Simon hazarded, cuddling Sparks in his arms. "Pleased to meet you."

[Okamiryun]

The male nods and holds his right hand out "most just call me Doc it doesn't sound so formal. So who are you, and how can I help you?"

"My name is Simon and it's a very long story..." Simon wondered if Nillik would back him up here, and petted Sparks as he tried to figure out the best way to explain. "I'm originally from another world, I got here through the Bermuda Triangle, which I've been told is some sort of portal. Things....haven't gone well. As you can probably see. Nillik's told me that you know a lot about this world, and I'd like to find out more, so I can understand more of what's going on and not be a complete load on him- or on you."

[Okamiryun]

Nillik nods. Doc blinks "ok sounds reasonable. I may have some questions of my own though. So what would you like to know first?" He sits on a couch.

Simon exhaled, glad to be believed. "...All right. My first question is, what can I do and where can I go to support myself? I'm willing to do just about anything I can to start some form of independence here, and I learn fast, so if there's any knowledge I can use, I'll use it. My second question is, have either of you heard of a group of people led by a man named Len? There are other people from my world there with him and I'd like to let them know that I'm not dead, at least."

[Okamiryun]

Doc nods "ok well it depends on what skill you have. As for Len yes I do know of him. As for where his group is not really, but nillik can find them. If you need a job though I could use help here."

Simon explained his skillset- science, some first aid, mostly knowledge about fish and oceans, and so forth- and gently pressed a hand against his abdomen, feeling a flutter of movement and sighing a little. He cradled Sparks in his hands to help keep the firebird warm. "I hope that'll be of use- What did you need help with?"
