When Piras initially woke up in the medical bay, he'd been confused, and rightfully so. The staff informed him of his unfortunate miscarriage, about which we was disheartened, but also accepted. He had no memory of being particularly attached to the unborn babes, so he wasn't too broken up about it. He was also disappointed to learn his assigned partner Briggs died in battle, but again thanks to his altered memories, it wasn't a devastating blow. They then told him about his new assignment with Han-jae and he brightened right up. Piras knew Han-jae even from before Milo. He greatly admired the Korean's intelligence and penchant for pushing the boundaries of acceptable behavior.
