Things started off unusual, Philippe wasn't there and he didn't have to go into work for the time he was gone, throwing off the usual pattern of their day. Which was only supposed to be for a week or two, though as the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, he figured it out himself that Philippe wasn't coming back as soon as he said he would, despite what he said when he called them. Having to get back into working and calling Fiona to look after Oliver when he ended up staying for more than a week. It felt strange, not having Philippe drive him and needing to learn the bus routes around the apartment since even though Philippe left his car, he couldn't drive. Reese was disappointed ultimately, though knew that he couldn't do anything as his lover was an entire ocean away and he was doing this for his company. He supposed that they could always look to being even more well set off, onsidering the college funds they'd have to pay for.
He sat on the bus with Oliver beside him at the window, paper grocery bags in his arms as he watched the boy be entirely fascinated with the city life. It was sunday and he was dreading going into work, not because he hated work, but because of how tired it made him now. Of course, he didn't tell Philippe, but Reese had found out that he was carrying his child a few weeks after he had left. He had meant to tell him, multiple times, but of course he had never gotten around to it, even almost eight months in.
