C Basement experiments (gre-y)
#61

The measuring was the easy part, it was just assuming which was chub making it bulge outward or if it was done by the growth of the child. He was getting big though, no matter how you looked at it. Granted they weren't huge or nothing so Charlie could still walk around. This was just the biggest James ever saw him in terms of weight.

"Alright, well it looks like you might just be having one. It's been quite a few months and honestly, you have gotten big but the growth is really slow." James said. "With that in mind though don't take it as a means to go off and down a bunch of coffee."

Going over to his notes, he jotted down the new measurements.

"So anything else different lately?" James asked.

He sighed with relief. "One is good. But it's working." He groaned at the mention of still a smaller amount of coffee.
"Not much.. I'm still messing around with random ideas. I can't stick with one idea." He mused.

"I meant in terms of the experiment." James replied. "WEll we don't need a whole bunch of kids running around here, so one does make it easier to handle."

"Oh that!" He chuckled a little bit. "Probably normal, but I've been a lot more irritable lately." Charlie admitted.

"Probably caused by moodswings then, they're natural in a pregnancy since there's a change in the balance of chemicals in your system." James replied as he added that down. "We probably don't have that much longer til the kid comes, unless it deciedes to stay in there the last few months in the nine month cycle."

"Well I hope they come soon, cause I'm getting tired of holding him in," he whined, but there was a small smile on his mouth. He rested his hand over his stomach.

"Yep, you're going through mood swings alright." James said as he wrote it down; putting a big check mark by his original assumption. "Well if I were you, I wouldn't be going anywhere for the next few weeks. Just to make sure that if they do want out, we don't have to run like crazy back to the car to try and avoid people noticing. Ok?"

Charlie groaned, but agreed. "I don't want to be cooped up here, though," he whined. But he had no other choice. "But that's a good idea. Fair enough." He huffed a little. He squeaked a little, feeling a sharp kick. He rubbed at the spot.

"I know Charlie but for your own safety and the kid's...just stay here. When this is over, I'll buy you the most expensive coffee brand in the store." James said.

"Alright. I'll stay," He said. He did love being at home, but did not want to be cooped up at home. He thought about the baby, knowing he should think of his safety. His eyes lit up at the coffee. "Really?!"

"Yes, considering that this is working and you are willing to follow my advice I figure you deserve it." James answered with a nod. "So yes....you can have the most expensive coffee in the store. In our town, no other town."

Charlie grinned. "That sounds really awesome. Thanks, James!" He chirped happily.
Charlie did decide on keeping the kid, but he wondered about how to go through family get-togethers and things in the future. He would just show up with a kid? His family knew he didn't have a girlfriend.

"You're welcome." James said with a kind smile. "NOw I'm going to go order some lunch, want anything special?"

"Cheese pizza sounds really good to me, but I can eat whatever." Charlie told him. Bean jumped down from the table and started purring and rubbing his fluffy sides against Jame's legs.

"Alrighty, bland pizza it is." James said with a shrug.

With bean rubbing against his leg, the man sighed before moving to move the feline out of the way to go order.

Charlie smiled. "That's been my favorite lately." He leaned over the table.

"Those are cravings." James replied at the top of the stairs and went to order it.

It would be a few minutes later but the pizza arrived and James had ordered three instead of one. Just in case if Charlie was more hungry than they originally thought they were. Coming down the stairs with one of them, he set the box down on a table.

"Here ya are, the world's blandest pizza." James said before chuckling.

"Thanks, James, you're the best," he said, looking at the pizza. He pulled out a piece and burned his tongue when he took a bite.

"You're welcome." James said, though his eyes went wide at their actions. "Don't eat it yet! IT's still hot!"

Too late though and the man sighed.

"I'll go get ya some water." James added as he went upstairs to get a glass of water.

Charlie ignored Jame's warning, so that's why there was what felt like fire currently sizzling on his tongue. "Oh god, ouchhh.." he whined, putting his food back on the plate. He always seemed to be burning his tongue and never learn from it. "We might wanna wait a minute for this to cool down." he said reluctantly.
