"Its so beautiful and its feathers are so soft." He reached a tentive hand out and stroked the birds wing. He smiled as it chirped he was suprised by how sweet the bird was.

he smiled and nodded then perked an ear "huh... whats that sound...and smell..." he mutters and slowly gets up. the bird surprisingly not flying off as he moved. he trotted away a short distance "Oh my... Hey come here a sec..." he called ushering him over to a bush not far away

"What is it?" He asked the bird moving to perch on his shoulder. He looked in the bush not sure what he was about to see.

sadly it was a semi gruesome sight, a moutain lion laid dead from some unknown cause with three kittens around it, only one kitten surviving and not looking too healthy. "what should we do?" he asks and reaches down to gently take the kitten "Part of me tells me to leave it... yet my instincts tell me to save it" he says referring to the kitten.

Soto Imeadiatley too the kitten hugging it to his chest. "If raised properly I could be a good protector for a herd. Iv actualy seen a herd with a tamed one they act alot like a dog. Its rear but its worth a shot we can't just leave it here. " he looked it over a noticed a a few questionable spots that were particularly bloody. He walked over to the lake splashing water on the kitten and confirmed his fear. The kitten had large bite marks on its front leg and side. "We go now!"

he nodded "You go, i cant start to gallop yet, but you can atleast get a trot or canter without injury. besides you're smaller and more agile so you are faster naturally" he says and urged him on "Go, i sill catch up"

"No if you can't run were hiding. I know these bite marks well and if I'm right its got no qualms about taking out anything that moves slower than it. You'll stand no chance if my hunch is right." Fear was plastered on his face his cheeks white. It was evident he was terrified.

he shook his head "GO! i shall be fine! didjt you notice we were followed by two warriors?" he asks and points. just out of hearing range but just within sight were indeed two warriors having kept an eye on them "The chief must have sent them to make sure we were safe, now go! i wont have your foal growing up without you!"

"Beceaful and what ever you do dont look it in the eye!" He took off hitting a trot kitten in arms as he hit camp he had to come to an abrupt stop as a blood curdling screech reached his ears. "Darnell oh no."

Darnel was lucky the guards had raced to his aid when the rmcreature attacked. he grabbed one of their spare spears and turned to aid them unsure of what it was they were facing but did as told and didnt look it in the eyes, telling the other to do the same.

The creature looked like a weasel but much much larger the size of a dog. Its snarled and lunged at them and landed squat on the spear chest first it wiggled then whent still. Mean while in camp Soto sat waiting for darnell heart racing.

they stabbed it a few more times to be sure it was dead before returning bsck to camp as fast as they were able. by time they got there Darnel was panting a little from exertion and clearly looked to be in discomfort.

Soto ran over wraping his free arm around him tears smilling down his cheeks. "You dummy you could have been killed! Dont ever do anything like that again! I could lose you then who would willow call papa!" He was bawling and trembling. His back hoof bobbed off the ground.

he sighs and chuckles petting his head "Im ok, so are you... bot so tight hun your pressing a on a few of my wounds" he says and pulls him off of him "Anyway, lets get your foot looked at and our new kitten too"

"For ducks sake dont ever do that again. I love you to much to lose you." He stoped blushing realizing what hed said. Alot of the meares around him looked back shocked. He bowed his head trying to hide his face.

"Come on" he says with a smile escorting him to the Medical tent to find the Kitten already being looked at.

"Im fine there's nothing that can be done." He said as he was forcibly taken to the med tent.

"That you know of" he says and waves over one of the healers and has her look over the smaller Stallions foot and she just nods "See? they know a way"

"Worry wart im fine realy." He said sitting down with a clear. He hated being fawned over.
