Marc nodded in understanding, and sighed quietly "Alright, alright. Understandable I suppose... But you're both still idiots. It's like your first time all over again. I've got Silas passing out on me, and you breaking your hand... At least Silas doesn't have a broken hand." Marc sighed and frowned, worry crossing his facial features.
"He's gonna pull through this, Sid... He has no choice but to get through this - He's got three new kids he has to take care of with you... Those babies need him."
The ER doctor came into the room, a smile on her face which quickly faded with the tension she could sense in the room "Hopefully I won't be too long. I know you're probably anxious to get back up to the surgical ward..." she said, pulling a portable x-ray machine and the tray over so she could take the x-Ray's of Sidney's hand.

"Can you check on the babies?" asked Sidney, grimacing as his hand was moved to take the x-rays. "I want to get up to them but I don't want to leave Silas until I know he's out of surgery."
The ER doctor finished the x-ray, looking at it on the screen. "This is pretty bad. You're going to need to see a hand specialist-" she held up a hand to stop Sidney's protests. "And I will put a soft cast on it for now, give the specialist your x-rays and send him to you. You definitely don't need to stay down here. Do you need anything for pain?"
Sidney shook his head. "Just the cast."

Marc nodded his head and squeezed Sidney's shoulder "I'll go check on the babies, no worries." Marc said, pulling his cellphone from his pocket and clicking through it quickly "Sirius just texted me, told me he called your mother and father, and that they are on their way to the hospital now... and Kris is going over with our kids to your house to help Sirius out - because we all know how frazzled Sirius gets when he's with the kids for more than two hours at a time." Marc squeezed Sidney's shoulder one more time before leaving the room and heading to the elevators that would take him up to the NICU.
The ER doctor took quick measurements of Sidney's hand and then pulled a soft cast from one of the drawers in the room "Alright, this might hurt a bit... Since you're refusing medication." she said a bit sympathetically before maneuvering Sidney's hand onto the cast padding and then started strapping it up "Try to keep it as immobile as possible, no banging it around and acting like its just a sprain... It's not - It's far worse than just that." She said, pointing at the screen that still had his x-ray's up on it - you could see that several of the bones were broken in Sidney's hand - hence the need for a specialist. "You're free to head back up to the surgical ward when you're ready."

"Thank you," Sidney said, getting up off the table and immediately swaying. The doctor grabbed him. "Okay, maybe that hurt a lot more then I thought."
"I can send you upstairs with some Tylenol with codeine. Won't make you sleepy but should dull the pain a little," she said, already typing in the computer. "And for god's sake, eat something. I'm sure that's playing a factor in this as well. Adrenaline wearing off will do crazy things to your body."

It seemed like hours had gone by for the worried family and friends; but in reality it had only been an hour since Marc left Sidney in the ER so he could go up to the NICU and check on the triplets. He got the information he needed from the NICU doctor and nurses who were taking care of the triplets and he was pleased with their progress - especially the last born daughter who had been having breathing problems. It seemed that the steroids and oxygen had worked perfectly and she was now breathing on her own without oxygen aide.
Marc entered the surgical bay waiting room that Sidney had been in since they arrived at the hospital, except for the brief interlude to the Emergency room. "So how is the hand? And has there been any news about how Silas is doing? They won't let me back into the surgery overlook rooms to see how progress is going with him."

Sidney shook his head, picking at the sandwich his parents had brought him. "Hand is sore. No news on Silas yet. I asked and they're still working on him but he's still hanging in there so that's something. How are the babies?"
Jay shook Marc's hand and handed him a sandwich as well while Meg got him a bottle of water. They had also brought Sidney a change of clothes but he hadn't gone to change yet, not wanting to leave the room now that he was back from the ER.

Marc sat down with the sandwich and bottle of water, setting both aside and pulling his legs up onto the couch next to Sidney "The triplets are fine. Baby B is breathing on her own again, no more steroids or oxygen. Baby A is still fighting strong, she doesn't like the nurses touching her and keeps trying to hit them - she's definitely her Adda's daughter. And Baby C - the boy - he's pretty chill, just laying in his bassinet and staring up at the ceiling, if he's not sleeping." Marc said and sighed, collapsing against Sidney's bicep and looking up at his best friend.
"You hanging in there?"

Sidney shrugged and stared off into space. "We named them. Alexander, Megan, and Maia. I don't know which girl is which though. That was one of the last things we talked about before he passed out. Because we hadn't decided on names before now."
A doctor came out, not the same one as before, and headed towards Sidney. "Mr. Flint, I'm Dr. Brown. I was one of doctors operating on your husband. We were able to remove everything and did not find any other cysts in the process. He's currently in recovery and we'll be moving him to the ICU once he wakes up."
"Can I see him?" Sidney asked, clutching Marc's hand.
Dr. Brown nodded. "I can only take you back. The rest of the family will have to wait here."
Sidney was up immediately and followed the doctor down the hall to where Silas was in the recovery room. He was still asleep, on oxygen and monitors, and looked like a pale imitation of himself but he was alive.
"Oh Silas," Sidney collapsed in the chair next to his bed and finally let himself cry.

One of the monitors beeped a few times above Silas' head and then Silas' hand was twitching on the mattress. His eyes were fluttering slightly "Si..." It was barely audible over the oxygen mask, the machines beeping from all of the other monitors in the room. "Sid..." he coughed the word out basically.
A groan emitted from Silas and he tried moving, but someone had smarted up and had him in soft restraints so he wouldn't move or pull the numerous stitches inside and outside of his body, as they had to open him up much more than they would have for just a simple C-Section.

"Silas," Sidney jumped up and cupped his face lightly. "Don't move. Just lie still. I'm right here." He pressed a kiss to his forehead and stroked his fingers along Silas's face, careful not to disturb the mask. "Oh baby, I am so happy to see you."

Silas managed to blink his eyes open and keep them open "Wh... hap'n...?" he murmured, voice greatly distorted behind the oxygen mask "Babies?" He wanted to reach out and touch Sidney, but his hands were restricted from movement by the restraints around his wrists.

"All three babies are up in the NICU and doing well. Alex is 4.3 and both girls are 3.9. They're feisty and strong. You were in bad shape after Alex was born so it was a matter of getting the girls out fast and getting you stable." Sidney slid a hand into one of Silas's. "They had to take out your reproductive organs. But you're okay now and that's what matters."

Silas nodded and squeezed Sidney's hand weakly, all of the blood loss had clearly drained all of the strength that Silas had. He looked so pale and small, which was hard to even imagine on a 6'7" man who had just recently weighed close to three-hundred pounds with the triplets. "Good..." he said quietly, his eyes slowly slipping shut "No more..." he was falling back to sleep, that much was obvious "No more kids..." and that was the last he said before finally succumbing to sleep again.

"No more kids," Sidney agreed, pressing a kiss to his forehead. He kept holding Silas's hand and watching him sleep, content to stay there as long as he was allowed.
-----
It was three days later before Silas was allowed to go up to the NICU to see the triplets. The first two days had consisted of him mostly drifting in and out of sleep between blood transfusions and rounds of antibiotics. He barely registered the nurses and Sidney hauling him out of bed and forcing him to walk around to prevent blood clots.
When Sidney came in the third morning after taking the kids to school, he found Silas sitting up and finishing breakfast. He looked almost like himself, just in need of a shower.
"Good morning, love," Sidney said, leaning over to kiss him softly, careful not to put any weight on him. "You are looking better this morning."

Silas made a face and pushed the last of his breakfast away "I still feel like I've been run over by a truck. I smell like a hospital. And this food is absolutely deplorable." Silas complained, crossing his arms over his chest and staring up at Sidney with a pouted out bottom lip "Please tell me some good news - You're breaking me out of here, you're going to let me take a shower, or you're hiring competent chef's to work in the hospital cafeteria... Either one of those will suffice."
Silas scratched at the three day scruff that was growing on his face - he hated having any type of facial hair. They learned, after his time in jail six-ish years ago, that while the facial hair made him *look* good - it was just annoying for several reasons, and most of them centered around sexual activities, but most important was the itchiness of the growth and maintaining a perfect goatee without too much growth - it was honestly just bad for the restaurant to have that much facial hair.

"I'm allowed to sort of give you a sponge bath of your armpits and back. The rest is going to have to wait for a nurse since that's where all the stitches are. You have another day of antibiotics so I can't break you out. Gio is going to bring you real food for lunch so there is that," Sidney said as he pulled an electric razor out of his bag. "I brought these. Oh, and most importantly, you're allowed to go on a field trip today so you don't have to just look at videos of the babies. You can actually see them and hold them. Does all of that count as good news?"

Silas shook his head slowly and laid back against the mountain of pillows that the nurses thought were necessary for Silas to have. His stomach had already gone down considerably after the triplets were delivered and he looked a bit more like himself without the added seventy pounds of baby in his stomach - although that was a mild exaggeration "Not really, no." Silas whispered and tugged Sidney closer.
"I was hoping you could give me a special shower..." Silas said with a raised eyebrow and then looked down at himself - it was *very* obvious what Silas was talking about, his morning erection was raising the blankets, but it was rather concealed by the rolling tray table, except for at the angle that he and Sidney were looking.

Sidney laughed and kissed him again. "Sweetheart, I don't think you have the stamina for that right now. Plus there are some stitches in that area that we definitely don't want to tear."
Sidney rested his head on Silas's shoulder, happy to be close to him, happy that Silas was even joking. "Clean up would be a lot easier now."

Silas sighed and pushed aside the gown he was wearing, looking at the jagged stitched up skin on his lower abdomen "I guess it will be." he said quietly, biting on his bottom lip a bit - he looked like he was actually about to start crying "I..." he let out a shuddering breath and looked up at Sidney, blinking tears away from his eyes. He didn't even know how to explain what was running through his head right now.
Silas shook his head and covered his stitches back up "We should go see the babies... You think they'll let me in even if I smell as badly as I do?"

Sidney kissed him again, trying to reassure him how much he loved him through his kiss. He knew that this was going to be a hard change for Silas. It was one thing to know you couldn't father a child. It was something else entirely to know you weren't going to be able to ejaculate again. Thank god he could still get hard and hopefully orgasm.
"Of course they will. I brought clean clothes and I can wipe you down and shave the beard," Sidney said. "Besides they're going to be so happy to meet their Adda they won't even notice."
