Cinder whimpers and howls in pain.

River rubbed his side gently “You’re doing so good” he said worriedly watching the head push against his hole for the contraction before slipping back in.

"N-No! Don't...go b-back in..." Cinder cries out, whimpering desperately.

River moved back up pulling him into his arms gently rubbing his back “It’s okay, you’ll push it out on the next push” he said softly, trying to be encouraging but the push he had just done the head just pushed against his hole, he never fully crowned and he was very worried

"P-Promise?" Cinder pants tiredly, looking up at River "...m-maybe we should get Rain"

River shook his head “I promise. She said if you had trouble for the next couple of hours, it’s only been half an hour and you’re already crowning, you can do this, I know it” he said softly smiling gently at him

"That's all? It feels like i-it's been hours..." Cinder whines "I-I'm scared, River..."

River smiled gently at him “Don’t be scared sweetheart, I promise, I’m here for you and you and the pup are going to be just fine” he said rubbing his mate’s side gently “What are you scared of and I’ll try to tell you why you shouldn’t be scared” he said softly

"I-I'm scared of not being able to do this a-and something happening to the pup, or something happening to m-me and I'll end up leaving you all b-behind without me" Cinder whimpers and starts to cry "I-I don't want you to be alone!"

River felt himself tearing up and pulled Cinder in his arms “Nothing is going to happen to you or the pup, I felt the same way when I had the pups, I know it’s the worse pain ever and it feels like you can’t do it but I promise, I promise you that you can and I promise you I will never let you leave me” he kissed his cheek softly

Cinder nuzzles his face into the space between River's neck and shoulder, whimpering softly as he cuddles as close to his mate as he can.

River held him tightly rubbing his back gently “I love you so so much, you’re doing so well, I promise everything is going to be fine and after you’ve rested after delivering we can bring all the pups to our clearing and relax in the sun, okay?”

Cinder nods a bit "O-Okay..."

River smiled gently “I love you” he said softly feeling his mate tense up in his arms and his stomach contract violently

"Love you t-too..." Cinder smiles tiredly then yelps in pain and pushes down hard.

River rubbed his back gently, he helped lay him down as he pushed and moved down to check his progress, the head continues to push against his hole but not getting through just yet

Cinder grunts and groans as he continues to push with all of his might, face red from the effort.

River rubbed his side gently watching as the head looked to almost get through just as the contraction eased off and it slipped back in once more

Cinder cries out in frustration, shaking a bit.

River went to his side and pulled him close “How about we just breathe through the next couple of contractions, try and get a bit of that energy back and right before the contraction you’re going to push on I’ll bite you, give you some energy that way”
