His eyes focused again as he leant back against the door then lowered himself onto his bottom, eyes closing briefly before he felt James against his bloat. The human looked down at him slightly and sighed,"You're supposed to be resting."He smiled softly and ran his fingers through the fur of his head, pushing his stomach out a bit more while the other scented him,"How many do you think there is this time?"He asked, he hoped silently that it wouldn't be seven again, he wasn't sure if he could take it.
James doesn't answer him, obviously. The wolf simply moves between Tobias' legs and rests his head on his stomach. They both sit there in silence for a bit, the doctor eventually coming back with the two newborns.
Tobias knew that his partner couldn't answer him" though he enjoyed talking to him, he was reminded of how he almost lost him and decided he took what they had for granted. Though he didn't say anything, he just shut his eyes and let the wolf lay against his stomach, eyes closed until he heard the doctor again along with the wet whimpers of the two pups. He brightened up at the sound, it was stronger than the last litter and that was hope" small but still hope,"Give 'em here."He told her, removing his sweater now and then reaching up for his youngest children.
She passes the two pups to Tobias, their whimpers increasing in volume until they were placed against their fathers chest. James watched the two pups against Tobias' chest before nudging them gently with his nose.
He let them whine for a moment, just basking in the fact that they were so healthy and loud before he lowered them against his chest,"There you go..."He murmured, letting his own nose touch the baby's head,"That's what you wanted right?"He asked and looked to the other as they latched onto his chest to begin suckling, quieting down for now and looking down to James. He wanted to ask him questions, though he knew it took energy he didn't have to return to human form, so for now he let the moment last.
They both stayed there, just basking in the moment. The pups suckled hungrily from Tobias' chest for nearly 10 minutes before they drifted to sleep, lulled by their full bellies and Tobias' heartbeat and warmth.
Tobias sat and watched the two pups that were against his chest, he smiled softly as he sat back against the door while one of the two lapped at his nipple still. He sighed and laid his head against their head gently, looking up towards the woman then down at his partner,"Let me get up, James."He told him gently.
James glances up at him before moving to allow Tobias to get up, the doctor doing most of the lifting to get him to his feet.
Tobias stumbled a bit then pulled away,"I got it."He murmured, though grimaced as he shuffled towards the bed to climb onto it for a seat, laying the two pups down gently. There was still pain and pressure but he was fine now, their overdue babies were a nice surprise.
James moves over to climb onto the bed, laying down beside Tobias with his head resting on Tobias' leg. Despite the pain and pressure Tobias found himself able to drift to sleep for an hour or so. He wakes up sometime later to a growing pressure between his legs, it taking him a moment to realize that someone was in the shower and James was missing.
The human woke with a start, he had been in the middle of a nightmare when his stomach woke him up with a firm cramp, his hips were aching with the pressure. Though he laid there for a longer moment until the contraction ended, then sitting up slowly to sling his legs off of the bed then stand. Tobias flinched as his center of gravity shifted and the mass inside of him shifted lower,"Mmnn..."He rubbed his low middle that still stuck out of his frame like a sore thumb,"James?"He called, stepping into the bathroom at his own awkward pace.
The first thing Tobias noticed was the lines of red that were running down James' body, the water washing away the blood from the wound. He had changed back to human form sometime while Tobias had been asleep and was currently standing underneath the water, letting it wash over him. The bathroom was thick with steam when Tobias stepped inside, it seeming as if James had on just the hot water.
He was completely naked and almost flinched at the thought of the woman knowing what he looked like without clothing, though he reminded himself that he didn't really care. As he stepped into the shower behind James quietly, pressing himself against his back with his lips pressing against the others spine softly. He let the water wash over his own body, it made the cramping hurt less but the pressure now was something he could do without. Though he did have no choice in the matter since their next child was going to make their appearance soon. "You were followed?"He asked him softly, arms wrapping around his chest to rest his head against his shoulder.
James' eyes stay closed as he let his hands drop to his side as he nods slowly. "Yes." He paused for a moment before speaking again. "He shot out a tire, caused the truck to crash...." He sighs softly "...road was slippery, got out but couldn't fight him off complelty."
Tobias let his own hands explore the skin he had almost lost earlier today, eyes closing while he nuzzled into his wet back warmly,"He?"He tilted his head slightly, looking up at the back of James's head,"Did you get a look at him? Did you recognize him?"He asked, thinking about the gun in the bedroom, before being brought back to the situation at hand. His round belly which held the last of their most recent litter.
"No." They stand there for a moment or two before James unwraps Tobias' arms from around him and turns around to face him before letting his own hands move along Tobias' still large stomach. "I'm sorry...for making you worry."
That discouraged Tobias, this was their home and they would be driven from it if people began taking notice of what they really were. Not foster parents but real parents, he who carried and bore the litters of halfling wolf pups while his wolf partner looked after them all. He shook his head when the other distracted him by running his hands along his boulder like stomach and sighed,"It's not you who's worrying me."He replied simply and leant forwards to place his head against the crook of his neck and shoulder.
James continues to run his hands along Tobias' stomach for a few minutes. "It's going to be okay."
While James traced along the lines of his stretch marks, he leant his head against his shoulder, not sure if he would be delivering this baby today or tomorrow. All he knew was that his pelvis was filled with a large pressure and his stomach showed that whatever was left wasn't small. Despite that, he was ready to deliver their last child or children, it showed too from the smile he kept on his face and the kisses he gave his lover along his jawline,"I never want to stop doing this."He told him, pulling away to look him in the eyes.
"And I don't want you to stop." James' hands continue to run along Tobias' stomach for another minute or two before slowly working their way down to the underside of his stomach.
