On the first day of the semester, Greg goes to his science class and sits near the back of the room, because he is shy and doesn't really want to meet too many people. He is a college freshman, but is older than most of the students because he waited for a few years before going back to school. The idea of attending classes with people who are at least seven years younger than him keeps him toward the back of the room as well.
