As Arnwen struggled for breath, his eyes began to fall closed, only for Ashahn to slap them back open. "Stay awake. That's an order."

Manon began to see progress in the mending of Arnwen's lung and chest. "Hang in there, Arnwen. Nearly done."
"Keep your eyes on me, Arn. Just look at me."

Arnwen's eyes began closing again, and again Ashahn slapped him awake. "I gave you an order." He reminded the elf. "Shit, he's losing too much blood."

[Eskal]

"Well I weren't the only fucking healer on this fuck'n' ship," Manon spat. He looked at Valen. "You were in the navy right? Didn' they teach ya how to mend?"
"I was a weapons specialist, I can't heal."
"Well yer gon have to if you don' want to lose 'im," Manon stated. Valen nodded and kissed Arnwen's hand as he began trying to heal the gash on the elf's stomach. He bit his lip as he tried to bring forth his magic. The bleeding began to slow as the gash became shallower and shallower. Manon looked at Ashahn as he continued mending the gash in Arnwen's chest. "We need to get to port NOW. The sooner we get another healer the better."

Ashahn nodded and dashed out of the hold. Soon, the hold shook as the ship made a hard turn.

"His bleeding has stopped," Manon said after several minutes of joint healing between him and Valen. "Keep yer eyes open, Arn." He began cleaning the blood off and bandaging what was left to be mended. "Gorrister! Craw! Get yer asses down here and get Arnwen to the infirmary." The two men quickly came down and carried Arnwen to the infirmary where Manon began concocting a potion.
"What's the potion for?"
"It's to help him replenish his blood," Manon stated. He looked to the cook. "Got any beef left?"
"Yeah."
"Good start makin' soup."
Craw nodded and rushed back to his kitchen.

Arnwen's eyes glazed over as they threatened to close once again. A low moan of pain came from him as he exhaled.

Valen rushed to Arnwen's side. "Come on. Stay awake. Please."
Manon lifted Arnwen's head and began working the potion down the man's throat. "Don't you fuckin' die on me, knife-ear."

Each breath Arnwen took was labored and raspy. His eyes closed as his head fell back onto the pillow. He was still breathing, but his breath grew shallow.

"The potion should help him, but it'll take a few minutes," Manon said.
Valen just nodded and kissed Arnwen's head. "Come on, stay with me. The captain's dead. You're free now. Stay with me, please." His voice croaked. "It's all my fault... It's all..."

"'Ow's it... Yer fault?" Arnwen asked. His voice was barely even a whisper, raspy and labored. He began coughing, and blood came flying from his mouth.

"I should've died in that wreckage... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."

Arnwen just grabbed Valen's hand and shook his head. He couldn't speak anymore.

[Eskal]

Valen kissed his lover and squeezed his hand. "I love you..."

Arnwen smiled as he coughed. He placed a hand on his belly, which still shook with their child.

[Eskal]

Manon continued to try to heal Arnwen's injuries. Valen stayed by Arnwen's side as they made it to a port.

Ashahn ran off of the ship, and soon a few men came and carted Arnwen off to a clinic. Once there, medics rushed around him, trying to keep him alive. But Valen was forced to wait away from his lover.

Valen waited outside the clinic.

One could hear the hustle and panic within the clinic. Ashahn came up behind Valen with Arnwen's bandana. "Here. It may be all you'll have of him." He said.

Valen took the bandanna and cried into it.
