Deciding he had done all he could in calming the mother, he proceeded to care for his favourite patient. "How are you feeling Alex? So far so good?"

Alex smiled and nodded, sleepy and rubbing his stomach slightly. "Yeah, we're okay."

"Ok Alex I would check on you later. Mr and Mrs Raegan, do you have any other questions?"

[lxcttrll]

"How long's he gonna be here?" Michael asked, voice gruff.

"I think most probably he only needed another night here, as a precautionary measure. Afterwards he is free to go home. May I ask how long you two are staying in town, Mr and Mrs Raegan? And would you want to stay here with Alex? I could arrnage for exrea beds to be placed here.

Michael nodded, looking to his wife. "D'you think we should stay here?" Angela nodded, going over to kiss Alex's forehead. "Are you sure he doesn't have a fever, doctor?" To which Alex laughed softly, shaking his head. "Mama, I'm fine."

"Well his vitals are all here. Temperature is within normal range. Besides, pregnant people often have slightly higher temprature." Martin said as he pointed to a monitor.

Angela nodded, fidgeting with the blankets around Alex. Michael caught her hand, giving it a squeeze. "Calm down, angel."

"Mrs Raegan. Your son is on the right track to recovering. I promise you I would take care of him as best as I can." Martin said sincerely. A nurse came in and whispered to Martin about a waiting patients and he apologetically said to the couple. "I am afraid I would need to go now. I would return some time later."

Angela nodded again, trying not to fidget so much. Eventually Alex pulled her into bed with him, letting her feel Rosemary shuffling around.

Martin smiling look at this loving scene. The feel of continuity of life. This was the reason why he had chosen to be an obgyn. He left the room light heartedly, couldnt quite wait for his next visit to this family.

Alex kept his parents' minds off of his sickness, taking about his baby and bouncing nursery ideas off of them.

Martin was too busy to get back to Alex during lunch, he eventaully got all his scheduled patients done in the evening. He rushed to the room wanting to at least see through Alex's dinner.

By evening Michael and Angela had left, leaving Alex half-asleep and watching some bad soap opera.

Martin knocked on the door before entering, surprised to see only Alex was present. "I thoughr your parents arw going to spend the night here with you?"

"Dad saw how stressed out my mom was, so she convinced him to go to a hotel for a break," Alex explained, rubbing his belly as he felt Rosemary flutter in him.

"So everythings going alright? How did your lunch go? Sorry I didnt make it. My appointments were very packed during that time." Martin approached the monitoring machines and checked the data while talking.

"Didn't eat a lot, but it went pretty well," Alex replied, letting Martin check over everything.

"Thats great. Rosemary's also doing great, her heartbeat is within normal range now, all other indicators are fine. I think you would be able to check out tomorrow." Martin said cheerfully. Looking at Alex's handsome face, he decided to take the risk anprobe on sensitive fiels. He asked quietly after a short pause "Did erm... Chris know you are here?"

Alex smiled at the news that he could go home soon, happy that him and his baby were doing well. He shrugged at the question, absentmindedly tapping his thumbs on his belly. "He should, haven't been to work in a few days, called in and told my supervisor."
