The precious moment of harmony had been so blissful, Jamie could hardly feel the time that had passed. It was the brid's chirp and teh gradual lighting up of the room from the rising sunt hat finally broke him from his hypotized state.
He got up quietly, popped his back and joints, and come to Morrison's side. With great care and respect, he pressed a small kiss on Morrison's tight belly, carefully avoiding the stitches, and left the room. He would have to restart his routine of praying for atonement.
This little interaction, however, at least had Jamie returning to his services. Crowds gathered to hear his preaching. The villagers took note of their priests' pale and quiet demeanor, but none commented.
