Most just snickered, but someone - a parituclarly nasty bully - laughed fakely and pointed at Jace. "what, you too poor to even afford breakfast? HAHA" he insulted Jace, and his gang bursted out in laughter simultaneously. Jake couldn't look. He saw the embarrassment and the pale that followed. He was curious, however, he also mentally noted Jace's love for curr - and he didn't even realise it himself.
