Ian put the glasses on the dresser and crouched. Tears were still running down his cheeks. He couldn’t find words for what he saw.

“Hey, what’s going on?” Mark asked, he thought Ian would be happy to be home, so why does he look sad?

Ian said no. He didn’t want to talk about it. He hid his face in his hands and tried to stop the falling tears

“Oh, alright, we’ll I’m gonna go- I booked a hotel, I hope you have a nice life!” Mark rambled seemly happier he’s free from his father. He opened the door and left the building.

Ian didn’t stop crying for a few minutes. He packed up some things he needed, including a child things, and decided to leave the estate. He didn’t even look out the window where the common bedroom used to be. His life here is over.

Mark looked outside his car widow and saw Ian leaving, “do you want a lift?” He asked. “I promise I won’t kidnap you again” he chuckled.

Ian stopped at his car and looked at him angrily: “I can’t get in a car like that. The old bang”, he growled past him, had no idea what to do now.

Mark gasped offended, “fine! Stay there then, your the one alone right now”.

Ian looked at him indignantly and smiled at him smartly ”I’m going to report to the police that you kidnapped me”, he replied, pointing his middle finger to him as he walked out of his car towards the city center.

“Go ahead, the nearest police station is 21 miles from here and you have no proof” Mark laughed, “they won’t believe you either because they’ll just think your a hormonal pregnant guy”.

“Stop mocking me!” he shouted with tears in his eyes. “You won, satisfied?” he asked, and then accelerated step.

Mark stopped laughing when he realised he made Ian cry, “I’m sorry, Ian, I never wanted to kidnap you, maybe in the future we can be friends?”

“Fuck you”, he said angrily, and with a grimace on his face he started walking faster.

“I’m serious” he went on to say, “hey, slow down, are you alright?” He noticed the grimace on Ian’s face,” be careful, you should be resting at home”.

“You’d better go to that goddamn hotel and leave me alone”, he tried to get rid of it, walking faster and faster until he missed the traffic sign that was in the middle of the pavement where he collided with his forehead.

Mark sighed and watched as Ian walked into a signpost, holding back his laugh he called out, “are you sure don’t need any help? Not even a lift or a place to stay?”

Ian crouched on the sidewalk and started massaging his aching forehead. “It’s not funny... If you want to make fun of me, that’s enough”, he said angrily, trying to hold back his tears. “Why did you hold on to me?”

Mark got out of his van, and walked over to Ian, he helped him pick up his things before saying” I’m not making fun of you, I’m serious, you need help”.

“I don’t need... It’s all right. Do you understand?” he asked, trying to take his things from him.

“Hmm… alright, goodbye!” Mark called out as he walked away.
