Carsen looked at him in surprise: “I forgot... It hurts”, he said, touching his stomach. That’s how Mrs. Harris found them. They were wet. “Is Mr. James insane? Bathing in clothes? Get dressed, I’ll help Mr. Carsen”, she said, handing him a towel, and with Carsen she went to the bathroom. There she took a close look at him.

James wondered back into his bedroom and changed into dry clothes, he wondered what Carson and Mrs Harris were doing. He sat back on the bed and got out a book to read.

“Are you in labour?” asked Mrs. Harris, and Carsen looked at her in shock. The woman touched the mucus on his thigh. She told him to sit down and wait. She went to James. “Mr. James... I think your guest is having a baby. I mean, his water probably broke away when you were at the pool.”

“Oh really?” James said, in shock. “We should go to the hospital immediately!” He rose from the bed and and went to find Carson.

Carsen sat on a towel and was still speechless. When James came into the bathroom, he hid with a towel: “Please knock.” he said ashamed

“Sorry! I didn’t realise you were naked, I thought Mrs Harris gave you some clothes”. James walked out of the room and closed the bathroom door, he grabbed some clothes from his room and returned with them.

Carsen put on fresh clothes and walked out of the bathroom a little frightened. “I know what you’re going to say. But I can’t go to the hospital”, said the pregnant man in a trembling voice.

“What? Why not? If it’s money then I can pay for your visit” James bargained. “You don’t need to be scared, if you could just let me take you to get help then you would be fine”.

“You don’t understand...” Carsen said, “They’ll take my baby away from me when they find out I’m homeless and have nothing to live for”, he explained with tears in his eyes, “I don’t even have life insurance!”

“You aren’t homeless anymore, Carson, you live here now and I’m pretty sure you don’t need life insurance, only health insurance?” He asked. He wrapped Carson into a hug,” calm down”.

Carsen trembled in his arms and bit his lip. “I even get lost in the name of the insurance”. He muttered in a faint voice, “I don’t know what to do.”

“I can get my secretary to sort it out but that might have to wait until tomorrow morning as he goes to bed quite early” James said, biting his lip.
“Could you, like, hold in your baby?” He tried to joke.

Carsen smiled slightly amused at his joke: “I don’t know if I can do it.” he said after a while and touched his belly. Mrs. Harris interrupted their conversation. “Mr. James... How about a private clinic? You have connections... If you go with Mr Carsen, they won’t ask such questions”, she suggested.

“Oh yes! How did I not think of that, thank you Mrs Harris” James said kissing her on the cheek. “I think the nearest one is about 15 minutes away”, he said.

Carsen looked at him, and then he started playing with his hands, out of all the stress: “I don’t want you to spend money. “That’s too much”, he said shyly, and Mrs. Harris sniffed, “Mr. James should be present at such events.” One day, he’s gonna hand over the company to his kids, but they’re not here yet" she looked at James “And now I’ll pack your things and wish you a smooth birth, Mr. Carsen”, she said and went to grab baggage

“Don’t feel bad, I’m choosing to do this, arent I?” He questioned, raising his eyebrow at Carson. “How are your contractions?”

“They’re starting to get worse...” He admitted, bit his lip and then looked at him, “You don’t have to... If you pick me up there, it’s all right”, he said with a faint smile.

“Don’t be silly, I’m not leaving you to give birth all alone” he scoffed, shaking his head. “I’ll try to give you all the comfort you need” James said.

Carsen’s eyes came to tears. He cuddled up to James and felt how much he needed someone. "Thank you" he answered and kissed his cheek lightly

James wrapped his arms around Carson and stroked his back, “it’s alright” he whispered. James wondered how long ago he was last hugged, he honestly felt bad for him.
