With slight hesitation, Cameron returned the hug and let Reece embrace him. He felt safe. Suddenly they heard the doorbell ring.

Reece sighed, just as Cameron was warming up to him. He let go of him and walked over to the door, opening it, “hello?”

Behind the door stood Peter. He was Reece's ex-husband. The couple had recently divorced.
"Reece? We have a little problem..." he said with seriousness being on the verge of tears

“Yes Peter?” he sighed, he didn’t like seeing Peter, it just reminded him of how badly their marriage ended especially as he had been cheated on.

Peter bit his lip and looked briefly into his eyes.
"May I come in? Do you want to talk here?" he asked him

“Yeah, you can come in”, he said, leading him into the house.

Peter walked tentatively inside. Cameron disappeared from the living room. Peter sat down in Cameron's seat and after a moment began to speak.
"I'm sorry... I know it's over between us, but.... I'm pregnant. This is the fourth month. I'm sure it's yours."

Reece opened his mouth but no sound came out. Until he became angry. “Are you sure?”, he said snidely, “I mean wasn’t it that long ago I found you bent over for some other guy?”

Peter lowered his gaze, feeling tears in his eyes.
"I know it doesn't look good in this situation.... But I really am sure. Besides... Divorce made me realize how much I still love you," he replied quietly

Reece reeled back, “don’t say that”, he demanded, “you don’t have the right. You cheated on me.” He stood up and opened the front door, “it’s best you leave”.

Peter got up obediently from the table and walked toward the exit.
"I'm sorry... I really am," he said only walking away drenched in tears.

“Stop crying”, Reece murmured, he hated seeing people crying, he felt bad. “Contact me if you find out the baby truly is mine”.

Peter nodded his head. With a handkerchief, he began to wipe away his tears.
"I'm so sorry..." he said, walking toward the exit.

Reece nodded, closing the door on him and turning around to find Cameron. “Where are you Cameron?”

Cameron was sitting in the guest room.
When Reece started calling him, he left.
"I didn't want to disturb..."

“It’s okay,” he said and gave him a sad smile. “Did you hear what that was about? I don’t mind if you did”.

"I heard a little..." he said frankly, and then looked at him a little sympathetically "I don't know what to tell you..."

“I don’t know what to say,” Reece chuckled weakly, “I was married to him for 4 years and then I came home one day and saw him being fucked by some other guy”. He looked down to the floor, “of course I divorced him but now he claims he’s pregnant but I honestly doubt it’s mine”.

Cameron nodded.
"I'm sorry... You must have loved him very much," he replied quietly, then looked down at his feet, "Maybe tomorrow I'll already go back to work?"

“No, I’m over him but I didn’t expect him to show up”, he explained. “You should only go to work if you feel up to it”, Reece said, “also if you want to move away from your husband then I think you shoild get your belongings”.
