The doctor looked at him with a small smile, but showed him her index finger for a moment.
"I will answer this question... But first the baby, okay?" she asked and started looking at the screen "I'll do without a wheelchair.... Chris has to lie down until the birth. No walking" she ordered "He has already started to dilate.... But we have more than a month until the due date."

Cooper hummed, “okay, I guess he’ll just have to be lucky to have me as a neighbour”, he joked. He watched as the baby came up on the screen and their heartbeat filled the room.

Chris then grabbed Cooper's hand. Again, as every time, he shrugged hearing the baby's steady heartbeat.
"Everything is fine with the baby.... Fortunately, the baby is strong."

Cooper breathed a sigh of relief, he was pretty sure Chris did too. That was good news.

Chris smiled slightly. The doctor looked at Cooper.
"Okay, Chris will go with the nurse for the examination, and you wait here," she decided, and gave Cooper a sign that she wanted to talk to him alone.

Cooper nodded and sat still in his seat, waiting for the nurse to speak to him.

The doctor approached the desk and pointed to the seats for Cooper.
"It's about childbirth.... In the state of Chris, there may be a situation where you don't have time to get to the hospital..."

Cooper nodded, “right okay, does that mean that I will have to assist him?“

The doctor nodded.
"Yes... That would be desirable. I have birthing kits. I can give you some if needed," she offered

“Yes please, that would be helpful”, Cooper said, beginning to wonder what was taking Chris so long.

The woman pulled out several secured sets.
"I trust they won't be needed after all, but things are different in life..." she replied and sighed "Chris will be back in a while. He's at a blood draw," she explained to him

Cooper nodded, “alright thank you”, he said, taking the pack and reading about it on the back of the box.

"This is my business card... If there are complications, call," she said in a firm tone, "I'll help as much as I can."

He took the card and put it in his wallet, “okay, I’ll call it if anything happens”.

"Take care of Chris... He... He has never brought someone here for an examination. You must be special," she explained

He felt himself blush, “I most definitely will”, he stated.

The doctor said goodbye to him. She said that when the results came in she would call him. Chris returned from his checkup a short time later.

“How was it?”, Cooper asked Chris, wrapping his arm around his waist.

Chris sent him a slight smile.
"Good... The nurse did some tests on me," he replied and snuggled lightly into his hip

“Okay, when do you get the results?”, he asked, grabbing ahold of Chris’ hand.
