Dr. Sommer nodded. "Alright, that's also a sign........If there is any change or if you wish something, then just let me know", he said, turned around and went to the door. He opened it and wanted to leave the room, but stopped in the doorway and slowly turned around. "Oh yeah, Eric, by the way: You can call me Andreas", he said with a relaxed smile, turned around, left the room and closed the door behind him.
He finally wanted to break the ice between him and his patient and furthermore, he wanted to give him a bit more confidence.

"You're welcome", Dr. Sommer replied and left the room, going down the hallway to his office. After having entered it, he sat down, leaned back and closed his eyes, thinking about Eric's situation.

Dr. Sommer opened his eyes again. Dragon-Egg-Births were quite seldom, as there were not many friendships between dragons and humans. Most of the people gave birth to eggs of other species, which were often smaler, easier to birth and not so numerous........but 13 eggs, each one with the size of an American Football wouldn't be that easy to bring into the world.
Dr. Sommer was glad, that the birth would take place in the next days or even hours, so that the eggs couldn't get bigger.................

Dr. Sommer looked up and took the beeper from his belt. As he saw the number of the room, he opened his eyes a bit wider. "Eric.....", he whispered and left the room with fast steps.
He almost ran down the corridor and finally reached the door of Eric's room and opened it. "Eric........you called for me ??", he asked and went up to his bed.

There is another man standing there with jet black hair that goes past his shoulders and dark eyes. The odd looking man had two horns coming out of his head. He was wearing a leather jacket and black pants. "This is my sort of boyfriend." He says, the man looking the Doctor over.

Dr. Sommer took a deep breath and didn't know what to say, but then he went over to the man and offered him his hand. "Nice to meet you, I am Dr. Sommer.......the chief doctor of the ward and the doctor of your boyfriend", he said and smiled a bit unsure.

"Thank you", Dr. Sommer said, approached him a bit more, rubbed his hands to ensure, that they were warm and then gently laid them onto the belly of his patient, feeling the muscles under his skin contract.
"Oh yes, those are premonitory pains.............your babies seem to want to come out a bit earlier", he said and smiled gently.

Dr. Sommer smiled about his excitement. "Well, premonitory pains and the loose of the mucus plug can both already happen about 2-3 weeks before the birth, or earlier. Especially the Braxton Hicks Contractions can start even a month earlier............but, when both happen that close after another, then this is a sign, that labor will begin soon......so yes, you probably are.........at least in a pre-stage of labor", he explained with a smile.

He smiles a bit. "I know it's cliché, but does birth really hurt as much as people say?" He asks, he knew the answer was probably yes but he just wanted to be sure. He knew it wasn't going to be a painless process, 22 inches wide at the widest part in his small hole was gonna hurt!
(I like long, hard, painful births is that okay for this? >_<)

Dr. Sommer smiled and took a deep breath, not wanting to scare him. "Well........let's put it like that: It's not painless. Even though your entrance and your birth canal are going to dilate up to 10 centimeters (3,94 inches), in your case up to about 15 centimeters (6 inches), it won't be comfortable.........but don't worry. The feeling of pain is sometimes a quite individual thing. Some men just moan and grunt a little bit and say afterwards, that the birth reminded them of a very hard constipation, while others are in serious pain.............it's a very psychological process as well. Many women for example feel a lot of pain during birth, just because generations of other women told them, that a birth is the most painful thing in the world, whereas some types of cancer cause pains, which are many times higher......those women often just feel the pain, because they were expecting it and it became a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy......so, if I was you, I wouldn't give to much on clichés, but just let it come closer and see, what's happening", Dr. Sommer explained with a friendly voice and smiled.

He nods with a small smile. "I hope you'll be here when I deliver, I don't think I'd rather have a doctor to help me bring them out of my womb." He says his blue eyes showing his thankfulness for the man. "You wouldn't mind also helping me relax when in not actively pushing and you have to do things..?" He asks softly, he was nervous, more than he'd like to admit.
