Name: Leonardo "Leo" Gatherly
Age: 20
Occupation: College student currently on semester break
Role: Carrier/Hunter
Generalized Description: Brown hair, blue eyes, fiar skinned
Height: 5'9.5"
Weight: About 250/270 lbs

--------------------------------------

It was a cold, winter day. The sun was shining which reflected off of the snow that covered the ground. Leonardo was sitting in the back of his grandparents' van with his parents. His best friend and older brother sat next to him in the very back. The rest of his family were in another vehicle.

They pulled up in front of the twin cabins they were to stay at for the duration of their vacation. They were simple log cabins that a typical hunting party would use. However, this was no typical hunting party.

As soon as Leo's parents exited the van, Leo, his friend, and his brother exited the van, stepping out into the cold Canadian winter air.

"Why do we have to come here?" Leo asked hugging himself to keep warm despite his warm clothing he had on. "It would be so much better if we spent the holidays back home instead of here."

(Hopefully this is kinda what you were going for. Wasn't 100% sure what you were going for.)

(( My apologies. I thought I had covered that all. The post is great. If you want to control what the others do (Name them and whatnot), feel free to do so. I hope these are effective as well. I did not want to do too much that could possibly confuse us.))

The cool crisp air filled Brayden's lungs as he stood outside of the small town. The male stared at the black roads as the trails of snow stretched for miles. "This is where we have to stay" The male stared at a set of buildings on the other side of the road. Waiting for numerous cars to drive by, he walked across slowly to the Black Lotus Cafe. It was an odd name in his form of standards, but it would have to suffice. He peered through the windows to see inside the dark and vacant place. The place was otherwise adorned with tables, stools, counters, and numerous machines. He could manage a few minor details in the place. Pulling the phone out his pocket, he dialed a few numbers and waited on the dial tone. After confirming the voice on the other end, a Ford F-150 began to drive down the street. He motioned towards another road for them to pull up in the back. Once they were all settled in, he would have to lead them to another location for the night. There was a Get-Together of sorts to see who were all present for the moment after all.

-------------------------------------

The trip had finally ended. They had arrived at the Cabins at long last. Being in a cramped vehicle for seven long hours had made Trevor quite the temperamental one. Not that he did not enjoy spending some form of Holiday with his best friend while his parents left off for somewhere in Europe to handle some kind of business discrepancy; it was the fact that being in a place for hours in without having a decent form of movement made him really buggy. Leo's grandfather chuckled as he climbed out the van, not wasting time to heft in numerous bags. "The weather is nice and besides, you'll get a chance to see a lot more than you would at home." Indeed, Trevor had got quite the view. There was Leo's Uncle Brad and his fourteen year old twins, Austen and Sarah none of whom apparently wore anything else other than camouflage hunting gear. This trip was probably the only exception as they were clad in white while Uncle Brad still wore the same hunting cap. It was not in Trevor's place to say anything on the subject, so he would just ignore it. His next set of sights were on the cabins themselves. Both looked to be about three-stories and probably offered a better variety at them all being able to seclude themselves in rooms of their own. "It's worth checking out, I suppose" the tone was rather unamused, but he had just got out of one of the most uncomfortable rides of his life. From hearing Leo's Grandfather tell war stories to his brother just speaking on his abroad travels, he was pretty sure there was nothing else to make his mood even more underwhelmed. "Besides, there's the city we could explore" he nudged Leonardo slightly as he hoped only the other heard him. Hefting up a set of bags that were locked up, he looked at the cabins once again. Whichever one did not include Uncle Brad would be the one he went for first. There was more to life than hearing stories about how he beheaded a male deer or skinned a crocodile after all.

((It's okay. Glad you like my post though. I usually don't start rp's so, it was something new for me.))

Leo sighed as Trevor nudged him. "Sure, whatever," Leo said nonchalantly.

He then moved around to the back of his grandparents' van in order to grab his stuff. Once his stuff was in hand, he turned to the cabins and followed the rest of his family. Uncle Brad and his family went for the cabin on the right while Leo's parents, grandparents, and older brother took the cabin on the right.

As soon as Leo crossed the threshold into the cabin, his mother stepped in front of him blocking his path.

((I'd go further but I'm not sure how you want the cabins to be laid out. Are they to be similar to a typical house with a kitchen, living/family room, and a pouder room on the first floor while the master bedroom, master bath, and the other bedrooms and bathrooms are on the second and third (possibly) floors? Or is there a specific layout you want them to have?))

(( Ah, I see. Well no worries then lol. Did Leo's family go for the one on the left or right because I was a little confused ))

Trevor only walked away as Leonardo gave a rather careless response. The weather did not seem all too bad to him. The male was always a fan of cold weather to begin with. With Uncle Brad taking the cabin to the right, he turned for the one on the left. No sooner than he had done so had Leo's mother appeared at the door. "We thought it would be nice if all the young one's stayed in the other cabin. There shouldn't be a need for us to monitor you all like you are children." That was probably an understatement seeing as Austen and Sarah were still fourteen, but Trevor would not argue against such an idea. The cabin on the left was a good idea. It made him think of all the horror themes that came with the word "left." The male walked into the building adorned with light brown wood that looked like someone could climb up to the top of the roof as if they were ladders. He wasted no time in getting to the second floor. The male took in the sights of a pool table near a door that led to the balcony, a sofa beside it along with a television. To add to it, there was the usual chair with a leg rest as well as one apparent bathroom. He simply turned to look at the four closed doors, two on each side. Walking to the far right, he opened the door on the left and went in. There was nothing noteworthy other than a bed, dresser, and television. After setting his bags on the bed, he turned back out. There was no need for him to unpack at the moment. He would do that all when everyone else was situated.

-----------------------------------------------

Brayden smiled as him and his friends poured into the second floor of the Cafe. It seemed like a nice condo: small, but big enough to work for at least four people. With his girlfriend, Lynette, living elsewhere, it worked perfectly. He was certain they would share the bed during the course of months to follow however. As the movers turned to come in, he only smiled at them. "Thanks, but we'll take it from here." He gave them a tip while waiting for them to get out a good distance. When they were in the clear, he moved his right shoulder a little while rotating his neck. His friend smiled as he hefted up the marble table meant for the dining room with little difficulty. Brayden walked back down the stairs into the alleyway, placing the head of the wooden entertainment center on his shoulders. At the pace all five were going, they would be settled into the new place in under five minutes, give or take two.

(( You can go as far as you want with your imagination in this roleplay ^ ^. I don't want to limit you on anything. It would help me out a lot as well XD ))

((Okay. Will do.))

"Whatever mom," Leo said and followed Trevor over to the second cabin and to the second floor. He chose the room to the right of Trevor's room. It had the same furnishings: a bed, dresser and a television. At least he had a television....

He dropped his stuff on the floor next to the bed and flopped onto the bed with a sigh.

"What's the big deal about this hunting party that they have every year?" Leo muttered to himself as he stared at the ceiling. "And why did they suddenly decide to involve Trevor and me?"

Leo grabbed the remote and flicked on the television, flipping through the channels trying to find something interesting to watch.

(( Again. My apologies for the delay. You can feel free to have Leo do something in that timeframe. I just had to think of something to get out the slump. ))

Trevor peered out the window of his room, staring out into the snow covered forest. The gray clouds above dimmed out the falling sun to the point that it was hardly even noticeable. The place went on for miles and if he was not careful, chances were he would get lost in it. "Maybe coming here wasn't a good idea" he said to no one in particular as random thoughts flooded through his head. He shifted on the bed as he began to set up his personal belongings. A small sigh escaped his lips as he rested on the bed. Usually the male would be ready get out of a room the second he got too bored of it, but he was a bit more lax on doing anything at the moment. "I'm certain Leo is going to have a fit eventually" he thought before resting his head on the red covered pillow. After having a few brief thoughts to himself, his emerald eyes rested under their lids as he drifted off to dreams of snow and ice; a field of snow and a barren town. The town was far from ever being long abandoned as there were the nearby sounds of shoes clacking on the black solid roads. Whenever he would turn, the male found only streetlights that shared an all too common theme: the fact that they would twitch and darken out his field of vision. His body began to chill over as the temperatures began to fall, causing him to collapse as his body was covered in snow. Trevor cursed lowly as his breaths were loud, clouding almost everything out. As he rose his head up to look into the darkness, a set of yellow eyes, almost animal-like, were looking right back. Trevor's eyes shot open as he stared into the dark room. He rubbed his face before getting up. It was wet and cold. He climbed out the bed, looking at the window that managed to open itself. As much as the male enjoyed the cool crisp air, he did not like the fact that it helped fuel the rather bizarre dream. Bizarre was an understatement as he usually enjoyed something that would otherwise send shiver down others spines. He slammed the window shut as night had truly blanketed the forest. He walked out into the dark main room of the second floor. He thought to call out to Leo, but he was unsure if he was even in his room or if he was possibly the one that was the cause of the source of the only light downstairs. His socks pressed against the wooden steps as he stared down into the living and small Kitchen. No one and nothing -for that matter- was in sight except for the open fire in the chimney. That meant someone had to be around. As he stared at the fire, slowly easing his way towards the couch, a hard knock came towards the solid oak door. Trevor turned around quickly as another knock came. He went towards the door quickly, twisting the knob slowly as he unlocked it. The door shot open from the wind as snow trailed in. Before him stood a woman petite in size with light orange hair. She was clad in some kind of purple glittery blouse with a black pencil skirt as a few bags rested beside her. She smiled widely as she hugged him.

"Oh Trevor dear. It's been a while" a rather happy tone to match her otherwise bubbly appearance.

"Hey Miss Amelia" He scratched his brown hair slightly as he hugged her with a nonchalant gesture. At last, Leo's Aunt and possibly other cousin had arrived as well. "I think that the adults went to the other cabin"

"Oh I know. I'm just here to set up a few things. We are heading out into the town soon. Sent me over here to round ya'll up" her southern accent was always amusing as the short woman, with plastic bags filled with some kind of black substance, trailed towards the door on the far side of the room. She opened the door and shortly afterwards the sounds of heels clicking with haste on steps were heard as she went into the basement. With a sudden feel of relief as a way to make sure he was not in another dream, he went back upstairs. He turned towards Leo's door, knocking on it lightly.

-------------------------

Brayden watched as the Condo was finished being put together. The male stared at several sets of white cardboard boxes. Lighting a cigarette, he motioned for them all to begin moving them. Placing the bud in his mouth, he picked up five stacked boxes and began to descend down the stairs. It was now time to set up the cafe. Hours in of setting up numerous equipment, thoroughly cleansing, and various check offs, Brayden looked at their time. "We've made impeccable timing" he said as it garnered a few chuckles. He pulled out a small notebook, reading through it. "Whadya say we get this place opened up now?" If he was going to be the "owner" for a good while, he may as well began to bear fruits of his labor. After being greeted with the various smells of aroma, he took to preparing various food that were in the menu. He sighed as there were things he wish he could truly speed through. He smiled casually as he flipped the "Closed" sign to "Open". With that, he now had something to do to keep himself occupied until the closing time at ten o'clock pm.

(It's okay--about the long delay. I'm sure I can think of something for Leo to do. ;) )

Leo left the TV on a random music channel as he slowly unpaced his belongings. Finished, he grabbed his night-time clothing and flopped on the bed, flipping through the channels on more time before shutting it off and turning onto his side to try to get some sleep. After about thirty minutes of not being able to get to sleep, he sat up in his bed right as a cold wind blew through the room, making him shiver and bring the blanket closer to his body.

"Damn cabins," Leo muttered and got up to search for open window or door or whatever it is that let in the cold air.

As he walked past the door to Trevor's room, another gust of cold air blew through the cabin. He shivered again before he opened the door a crack and peered in. Trevor was sleeping somewhat fitfully--must be a nightmare--but what froze Leo in place was a pair of yellow eyes that he saw on the other side of the window. Frightned, Leo spun around and shoved his back against the wall next to the door jam, his heart racing.

From what he saw, there was a wolf-like shape in the window. He peered into Trevor's room again. The shape wasn't there anymore.

Curious, Leo silently opened the door far enough to let himself in (after placing the blanket back in his room first) and crept to the window. He opened it and looked out into the cold night air. He didn't see anything.

Shrugging, he left the room (while forgetting to close the window) and padded back to his room where he quickly got on his computer before finally calling it a night. He climbed into bed and was able to fall asleep....finally.

He slept soundly through the night....until a light knock at his door startled him into awakeness the next morning.

"Yeah? Who is it?" Leo asked as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

Trevor waited for a response. Hearing the sounds of someone stirring around in the bed, he eventually got a response from Leo. "It's Trev" he looked around for a switch to turn on the lights to the room he was in rather than to let the sun eventually shine through the windows. "Your Aunt's here. She said something about us heading into town soon."

Trevor turned away from the door and went back into his room. Picking out a fresh assortment of clothes, Trevor ran the water until it was nice and hot for a shower. When he was ready, he wrapped a dark blue scarf around his neck. He waited around for Leo. When he was ready, he walked downstairs, the smell of linen greeting his nose. He noticed several incense adorning the walls. "I see someone has been busy" he muttered lowly as Leo's Aunt walked by with the twins. After a few more of her "adjustments", Aunt Amelia picked up her purse and keys and headed outside.

"As much as I hate being in cramped vehicles, I'm suddenly reminded of which family members of yours are truly the sane ones" he joked with Leo as he walked outside, though there was a curious thought of why she went into the basement. Trevor stared at the van before climbing into the back.

As the family poured in the van, Leo's Grandfather cranked the vehicle up.

"I figure we should start this day off right with some kind of breakfast. I think I saw a Cafe in the town on our way up here" the van turned out the snow covered path as it drove off into the road.

Leo groanedand sat up with his feet on the cold floor. He got up and quickly got dressed before heading downstairs with Trevor.

"And which one of us is sane?" Leo asked as he climbed into the van, not even noticing that his aunt had went into the basement for who knows what. "Everyone of us is insane."

"As long as I get breakfast, I don't care where we eat," Leo said to his Grandfather as the van got started up and pulled out onto the road. He leaned his forehead against the cool glass of the window still thinking about what he saw last night.

"That's possible" Trevor peered out the window as the sight of Leo's uncle piling large bags into his truck greeted him. When everything was placed in, Uncle Brad tripped over a misplaced object: a bear trap. "Well some of us may have blown some fuses along the way" it was a comment he kept low and to himself.

"That's the spirit, Leo. Maybe later on I'll whip up some nice skunk soup" his grandfather smiled as Trevor's face went to a shade of green along with him getting a that feel in his mouth as if he ate something extremely bitter. He would not be there to witness such a creation be made. The van poured out into the snow ladled road as the sign of approaching the town was fifteen minutes away. To spare himself of any other comments be made, black earphones were placed in his ear as the sound of music followed shortly after. When they arrived into the town, the van made a few turns down the narrow streets. With another turn to the right, the van parked in front of a set of buildings. Trevor gazed through the front windows to see a sign labeled "Black Lotus Cafe". He climbed out the van once everyone else poured out, walking in last as well.

"Why don't you all order first" Leo's grandfather motioned for Leo, Trevor, and Claude (Leos' brother) to move forward. "There's something I need to say to the adults right now..." He glanced over at the cashier before turning back towards his wife and Leo's parents.

Trevor shrugged as he walked over towards the cashier, staring up at the menu above. "I guess I'll have a medium sized blondie and the breakfast platter?" He glanced at the brunette as she smiled, walking off towards a blond male near a stove. She whispered something to him before handing him the order. The male turned to look across the cafe, blue eyes locked on the group of adults nearby as the rest of Leo's family began to pour in. A small smile formed on his face, the kind of smile a person would give when they truly were not happy about something. The female made her way back to the counter while the male walked off quickly.

---------------

Brayden took off the white apron he wore with haste as he sped off into the backroom. "We have a few guests that we need to keep close watch on..." he said as the four turned around, quickly dropping their previous duties. "The older bunch' he whispered lowly as they all made their way back out.

--------------

The female smiled as she looked at Leo.

"So what can I get for you?"

"I'd rather go hungry than eat skunk soup," Leo muttered as he climbed out of the van and followed the others into the café. He looked back at the adults trying to hear what they were talking about but his brother, Claude, kept pulling his arm, dragging him into the café.

As Trevor ordered what he wanted, Leo watched in curiosity as the male hastily dashed into the back. He was so engulfed as to what the problem might be, he didn't even hear the cashier ask him the question. That is, until Claude nudged him rather painfully in the ribs.

"Ouch," Leo said as he rubbed his ribs and shot Claude an annoyed glare. "Why'd you do that?"

"You wanna order something or not?" Claude asked in response and tilted his head in the direction of the cashier, who smiled when Leo looked at her.

Leo blushed and looked up at the menu.

"Um....I'll have some eggs--sunny side up--with some wheat toast and an orange juice please," Leo said giving the cashier his order before looking at the door where the male had disappeared still wondering what the problem might be.

"You need to pay attention" Claude said lowly as he smiled at the woman before him. "I'll just get some breakfast muffins and Robust Coffee".

Claude looked around until he noticed a stool. With that, the male took his leave as Brayden and the four others made there way back into the kitchen. The cashier handed the male the next set of orders as he then handed each one off to the four coworkers. When there orders were ready, the male brought them over to them, thought his gaze remained positioned on the adults that were present until more customers poured in. Within that moment, all of them had vanished, possibly when the huge crowd poured in.

"Well this will be my cue to head out" Trevor said lowly as he got up from his chair. He was not a huge fan of crowds. Taking the frozen caffeinated beverage, he walked out the place, but not before handing some kind of tip to the male. "Awkward" he opened the door with no particular care as Leo's parents were outside.

"Father decided to get something else from another place" Leo's mother waited for everyone else to head out the room. "We've decided to just go around and find something worthwhile. I trust you all know how to behave. Your uncle wants to take you all hunting tonight" The way she spoke was in a rather fast tone as if she wanted to throw them off. Trevor, however caught every last bit of it.

"Joy" as he meant every bit of the word. "Joy..." he thought as the level of sarcasm increased. He scanned around the small area of buildings. The place was a town, but it seemed to be a small one. He watched as Leo's parents slipped off.

"Maybe there's an Arcade or something?" He asked Leo.

(( I wasn't sure if you want to do a timeskip or not ))

(A time skip would be fine.)

Leo sat at the counter close to the door to the back wanting to keep an eye on the male "waiter." There was something...different about him. What it was, Leo couldn't place his finger on it.

When his food arrived, Leo slowly ate the food as he watched the male watch the adults. Apparently the male never noticed Leo watching him as he never took notice to Leo.

Finished with his food, Leo carefully navigated the crowd as he left the café.

"Sure whatever mom," Leo said as he brushed past his mother. "Don't know why we do this every year. So boring. Besides, I'm a lousy shot."

He quickly caught up to Trevor as he asked him a question.

"There's only one way to find out," he said with a shrug before smiling. "I think it's time to do some exploring."

Trevor nodded slowly as he followed Leo. The male had found a way to keep himself occupied after all. To his own surprise, the town actually had a mall. Although it was less than impressive compared to various outlets, the place was far from the boring middle-of-nowhere town he imagined. The male had spent his time in the bookstore and at a knife shop before trailing around with Leo. When the time had arrived, the sun was fading away from sight behind the mountains, Trevor was back in the van on the way back to the cabins. "At least this was a worthwhile day" he thought as he stared out, snow falling a little faster than earlier. The white street lights above the road was the only source of being able to see into the night. When the car stopped at the cabins, Trevor waited until everyone else got out before making his own move. Leo's Uncle shot out the front door of his truck as he hurried off to the back of it. The male had almost forgotten about the event that would take place for the night. He was neither psyched nor thrilled about it like he probably should have. He walked inside the cabin he would be forced to spend an entire break at, sitting down on the couch in the living room as he waited to see how everything would play out.

At the mall with Trevor, Leo spent a lot of the time at the bookstore looking at the books and what may interest him (he ended up not buying any). He then wandered around the mall with Trevor until it was time to go back to the cabins.

Once back at the cabins, he walked inside and flopped on the couch next to Trevor.

"I don't even know why we're participating this year," Leo said to Trevor. "We weren't allowed to participate until now. Hell, I'm not even that great of a shot."

Trevor examined Leo's Uncle as he pulled out the large black bags from the back of his truck. The man opened them, revealing several rifles concealed in them. It probably was not the best method to securing them, but the man only had one thing on his mind. He was going to take his children -though in Trevor's mind he was certain they went on outings with him before- and the others out for some form of adventure. "Sounds thrilling" he shrugged as he thought of the wilderness, the snow, and most of all, the pitch darkness that night had to offer, a hint of light radiating from the full moon above. "I'm sure you'll do just fine. I may not even hit a single thing." Trevor did not know Leo's family's customs of things fully except for the occasional visits he had at their home. He examined the black rifle for a few. "I may not be a gun expert" he looked puzzled as he looked at the scope "but this looks like a sniper or something else. I didn't know people went to hunt animals with these." He placed it back inside, heading into the cabin for a form of dinner. After consuming Leo's Aunt vegetable soup, he sat on one of the chairs outside with his black coat fully buttoned up.

---------------------------------------

Brayden almost let out a soft sigh as the group of people that gathered upon entering had merely left. It still left him at a form of being alarmed. They could have gone and told someone else. "Don't worry about" he turned his head over to Lynette as she handed him more white pieces of paper. "I'm certain they ran off"

"Right...." they never just ran off. They called on others and caused chaos. It was never in their nature to just run away. He could only focus on that night. There was no way they could ruin anything. The snow would be falling like crazy and they had no idea of their locations. "I was thinking that later on tonight we could go for a run after gathering." He shook off the feeling as if someone was watching him and instead watched Lynette.

"I think that sounds great."

"Good" he smiled as Lynette pointed to the food that was being cooked on the stove. He turned his attention back to it so he would not burn it.

With night finally arriving, Brayden drove down the streets as the snow began to fall. The male turned the truck into a path that led into a forest entrance. After driving miles in, he had come upon a route that seemed to be hidden off thanks to nature and time itself. Lynette and his group waited patiently until they came across a large fire that seemed to be unphased by the large amount of snow falling. Stopping the truck near several other vehicles, they quickly climbed out, the entrance of a cave coming into their sights behind the bonfire.

"Eh," Leo said with a shrug and picked up one of the other guns, yet another sniper rifle. In fact, it looked like--to Leo and he wasn't a gun expert either--that all of the guns were sniper rifles. Whatever they were hunting, it must be really big or very difficult to bring down with a normal hunting gun.

He put the gun back and followed Trevor back inside for dinner. When he had his fill, he joined Trevor on the porch in one of the other chairs with his black trench coat that he had brought with him (he didn't know why, he just felt like it) buttoned up as far as it will go.

A light breeze blew through the area where the cabins were located causing Leo to Shiver slightly.

"If we're gonna do this, shouldn't we be going already?" Leo asked out loud trying to just break the silence and looked around as night began to fall and the snow began flying. "We won't be able to see whatever it is we'll be shooting for very much longer. I think a snow storm is starting to crank up."
